Villa Banteng is a self contained villa set amongst the lush, green paddy fields of Banjar Anyar, Kerobokan.
If you are looking for a unique private hideaway in the Balinese paddy fields, not in the hustle and bustle of Legian Kuta or Seminyak, but only a short taxi journey away from the best restaurants and nightlife the island has to offer, then please read on.
The villa which is free standing is unique - a combination of the modern and traditional Balinese with all areas open ( without walls ) but for the bedrooms and bathrooms. The villa sleeps six, with three bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, living and dining rooms, kitchen, infinity pool, and landscaped tropical gardens. Most rooms offer wonderful garden or pool views.
The pool is private and ample to enjoy swimming laps with a shallow end . There are no pool fences - so the villa will not be suitable for infants or non swimming children. Even on the warmest days a cool breeze wafts over the rice fields through the open living rooms of the villa. It is only when you leave the villa you might appreciate how warm it is outside.
But why leave?
There are numerous close by restaurants who now deliver to the villa which range from wood fire pizza to Japanese ( try the coconut jumbo prawns!). The renowned Bali Budda Restaurant (Kerobokan) is a few hundred metres away for those who prefer vegetarian or just a great cup of coffee. And if you want a professional massage , you don't have to leave the villa as, for a very reasonable cost ,a well trained masseuse will come to the villa ( an hour of traditional massage is about 110,000 Rupiah - about US$13).
And if you want to work on your tan - there is a gently sloping grass lawn to rest your beach towel that overlooks the rice paddy fields or you can lie on one of the double sunbed on the timber decking overlooking the pool. The gardens are lush and well maintained. You will feel as if you are in a resort - but without the other guests interrupting your privacy.
The villa, which was architect designed, is a combination of the modern with traditional Balinese architectural features and boasts unique, specially-designed features, including a stunning and exclusive stilted timber pavilion, built and shipped from the neighbouring island of Sulawesi.
Despite its private location, Villa Banteng is just 10 minutes drive from the famed restaurants and nightlife of Legian and Seminyak, 20 minutes from the island’s pre-eminent golf course Nirwana Bali, and 30 minutes from the airport. Canggu beach is only 10 minutes away by taxi [ as opposed to half an hour or more in Kuta or Legian] so keen surfers are well placed in the villa - a midopoint between Seminyak [ restaurants ] and Canggu [ good surf and beach]
Villa Banteng comes fully serviced with staff service, security, a villa manager on call, and a cook onsite to cook meals from the menu at the cost of the ingredients. The daily tariff includes airport pick-up, complimentary breakfast, free wireless internet and laundry services .Car rentals, inhouse massage services, and internet access can also be arranged. The day staff are fantastic and stay unobtrusively in the background unless they are required.
