Why the Owner Chose Mooresville
I consider myself fortunate to have lived in the Lake Norman area for so many years and look forward to returning there and moving back into this home in the future. As one of the largest lakes in the south east Lake Norman is truly a wonderful place to vacation and as some of my previous guests have discovered a compelling place to consider returning to again and again! In fact I have a couple guests who have now retired to the area as a result of their experience staying in my Log Home and soaking up the atmosphere of Lake Norman and the surrounding areas.

I lived in the Charlotte area for over 6 years and my wife and I now consider it our second home as we visit there frequently from our current residence in Houston TX. We purchased this home as a Vacation Home on Lake Norman and found its combination of mountain log with main channel lake view appeal unique and like nothing else we found in over a year of searching for the ideal retreat. Unlike most vacation rentals on the lake this home was built specifically to be a Vacation Home and this is immediately obvious as your walk through the doors. Enjoy your stay. This cabin was in a perfect location on the lake. We had a jet ski with us and enjoyed hours of fun on the lake. The kids enjoyed swimming off of the pier and the water was nice. Very close to all stores. The cabin was nice, took a long time to cool off upstairs but there was plenty of room for two families. It was our first lake vacation and really enjoyed ourselves.

I have just completed a $3,000 installation of a top of the line water softener and integrated filtration system. This will eliminate any variability in quality of the well water at this home as otherwise varies based on recent weather patterns. The system works great and the water looks fantastic.

This is a lovely place, great location and nicely decorated. It's rustic but in a comfortable and tasteful way. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the dinnerware and cookware needed. Lots of stores and restaurants a short drive away. The place did seem as though it hadn't been used in a while (burned out light bulbs, dusty porches and porch furniture) but it was early in the seaon (Easter weekend). Our only complaint was the tap water. It was orange - not just when you first turned on the faucet but always, and I do mean orange. No one in their right mind would drink this water. We had to buy big jugs of drinking water and had no choice but to shower in the orange water. The day we arrived we hadn't had any rain and the water was still orange. The next day it rained, and yes, still orange. It's a shame, because it's a lovely property otherwise. Oh, and no firewood. We decided to bring our dog at the last minute and notified the owner who o.k'd it. Our security desposit was not returned and i assume this is why. However, we should have complained about the water.
Owner response:Well water has been spotty this past two months with high iron content (safe but varying degrees of orange in color) due to unusual rain patterns in area. I have tried to catch it at its worst and have evaluated for best possible filtration system to install. A system has been identified and will be installed shortly. Firewood is not provided dusing the Summer months and only upon request otherwise. Deposits $100 with pet(s) are not refundable due to higher cleaning costs.

This place is awesome. Huge common areas, comfy beds and full sized bathrooms. Our only complaint was that it didn't have any firewood -- but be ran into a great neighbor who sold us enough for 2 nights. We did not rent a boat but plan on doing so during our next stay. The docks (upper & lower) very easy to manuever around. We took in everything we needed (food, beverage, etc) and never once felt like going anywhere else! Looking forward to a return visit & introducing 3 new ladies to the house.
Recommended for:People with disabilities, pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Wonderful rental experience. Fully stocked home was very enjoyable. Just bring your own food. We had never been to the area and this home is central to everything. Centered in NASCAR's backyard, urban Charlotte just to the south and the mountains just to the north. We stayed 3 days and could have store many more. Plenty of local shopping, more than 50 wineries within an hour or so, and, of course, Lake Norman. The owner was not local but did return phone calls and was able to get someone to work with us in a timely manner for a small problem we had. We were a party of 3 but could recommend this home for much more. Lots of beds, lots of living areas, and beautiful spacious yard and friendly neighbors. The Adirondack themed log cabin home was great. The only thing I did not like was the water came unfiltered from Lake Norman so you must buy your drinking water and ice from the store. Thanks for sharing this this beautiful property with us. We ate at nearby Big Daddy's and enjoyed that as well as the North Harbor Club about 20 minutes away. We also ate at the local Lake House Tavern which we did not appreciate very much.
Owner response:Water service at this Log Home is off a Well and has been tested and confirmed within all acceptable ranges for not requiring filtration. As with most wells low amounts of iron content makes water appear cloudier than city water service.The water is not from Lake Norman of course but a dedicated well on the property.

The pictures do not do this home justice. There are decks on both levels out back, facing the lake, perfect for relaxing and visiting. We stayed for the weekend and had extended family over on Saturday. We had a group out on the upstairs deck, a group in the kitchen, one in the upstairs living room, people in the downstairs living room, on the downstairs deck, and on the deck above the dock - and there is a great big yard out back where the kids ran around - we couldn't believe the space! The neighbors were very friendly and nice. The owner was very accomodating and really went above and beyond! The property was in great shape in general - there were some spider webs, which we attributed to probably being the first guests of the season. Overall, a first-class vacation spot. I would absolutely recommend this property for a friend. It would be particulary suited for a multi-family get-together (reunion, special occasion).
