Five of us stayed very comfortably at Casa Privada. It has a beautiful, quiet garden patio and is nicely located in town near the bank, an ice cream store and a few restaurants. The house is laid out well for a group - sleeps 6 people in the main house, but the rest of the beds are in a casita off the patio. The people who sleep in the casita have to walk across the patio to get to the house bathrooms. It's a 10 minute walk to the beach, but we rented bikes to make the trip quicker. The management staff is very helpful and Nosara is a great town to visit if you like to surf.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This is actually a 2br house with a detached unit. Not a big deal if this is a group of adults but a problem for a family with kids. The unit does not have its own bathroom so if the occupants need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night they have to navigate in the dark and fiddle with the tempermental key to get in (although it is a safe area we were told to lock up at night and when we left for the day). The listing says "comfy seating for 8". I would place it at about 5 with the couch seating 3 and 2 in cushioned chairs. There are 3 barstools, but they are far from comfy. The on-site washer and dryer usually isn't part of the rental. Check before you rent. The kitchen was challenging if you want to do anything more complex than a grilled cheese sandwich, mac & cheese, or toast. There is no oven and the 2 burner propane countertop unit allows for one pot/pan at a time. Also the propane tank for the stove in the house under the counter. It made us a bit nervous to say the least. There is no internet access at the house but in the cafe across the street. A weak WiFi signal can be had from the carport but you have to pay and sign up at the cafe to use it. Not a big deal if you just need to check email. The house is very small. Not sure about the square footage but I think the patio is part of the total amount (1K). The common space, not including the patio, is tiny. Tough for a large family as it is hot and humid most days. Not much privacy with the bathrooms either as the walls go up only 2/3rds the way and are thin. I guess it is needed for circulation but tough when there is a group hanging out 3 feet away in the living room. Great location, though. Close to a lot and quiet and private. There's an awesome property manager by the name of Javier Hernandez. He made our vacation. Attentive and kind. If you are in Nosara, take his horse ride trip to the falls.
