'Magnolia Oaks' affords a marvelous setting among mature southern magnolias & magnificent live oaks in a quiet neighborhood with an 'old south' feel. It offers an ideal south-end island location close to stores, shops and restaurants, yet within an easy bike ride to the old Coast Guard Station beach ( only 1.5 miles ). Competitive off-beach prices complete the picture.
Recent renovations resulted in the replacement of just about everything but the walls, roof-studs and foundations. The house is in immaculate condition and tastefully decorated. All furniture, appliances and bedding were newly purchased at the time of renovation. Additional features added @ that time include a large, furnished, screened porch with an overhead fan, a tabby patio, an enclosed outside shower and a new master bath.
When you stay at 'Magnolia Oaks' you will encounter an environment designed to afford a relaxed, informal mode of living. Enjoy !

We stayed for 8 days and had 6 people. The house is so welcoming and very well decorated and comfortable. For 6 people in the small house we weren't crowded as there are many places to get away and the rooms are large. The screened porch off the kitchen is a very nice feature. A car is definitely necessary for travel and the map and directions, though they look simple, aren't. Plan to miss the turn at least once when getting there the first time. (We didn't have our GPS with us.) We normally stay at homes in ski areas which are fairly well stocked with paper goods, trash bags, dish washing detergent, etc. The sparseness of these amenities was a little surprising. Especially almost used up TP in both bathrooms the first night we arrived at midnight. Had to make a run the next morning to the grocery store for those items which cut into our scheduled meetings in Brunswick on Saturday for a FLETC graduation. The other surprise we had involved rules for leaving the house at checkout. These required us to strip the beds and take all linens to the laundry room and roll a large garbage can containing other visitors trash to the street. We felt that the $90 cleaning fee should have covered those things as well as initial papergoods and dish detergent. The price for the house is excellent but when budgeting make sure you know that the property price has a tax tagged on at the end of 12%. Other than those things, we were comfortable and it is obvious the owners have put much care and love into this house.
Owner response:We are very sorry that our home didn't live up to the 5 star rating which is our goal. Tenants are normally provided with starter supplies of the basic necessities & in this regard, we thank the reviewer for bringing an apparent lapse to our attention. Otherwise, we ask prospective tenants to understand that their cooperation in performing a few minor tasks is helpful in order to get the house ready for the next occupant within a relatively short period of time.

We stayed here in July with our two teenage granddaughters and little doggie! It was immaculate and so convienient. It is a relaxing, cool, well-equipped home. It feels like your "home away from home." There was not a thing we didn't like about it. The outside shower was so nice and the porch was comfortable (even with hot temps we had). The property is well-maintained and has a lush yard. It is located in a residential area and close to everything. We plan to get back whenever we can!!!!

Our family of 6 very much enjoyed our visit over Memorial Day weekend. The bed lineup of 1 king and two sets of twin beds worked very well for us, and the location was very appealing and convenient. We hope to come back again.
