Accommodations: Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-8)
Keywords: ski-in, ski-out, Condominium
This is one of the best condos at Solitude! Enjoy these important advantages over most other condominiums in the Solitude Village:
VIEWS: this is one of only three ski hill facing condos on the top (5th) floor of the Powderhorn Lodge. This top floor condo has inspiring views from the bedrooms, family room, and deck. The bedroom suite has 7 foot high windows with magnificent mountain views!
QUIET: Our unit faces the peaceful Powderhorn courtyard as well as the ski hill. This shields us from highway noise as well as the potentially noisy village courtyard. We are on the top floor so there is no one above us, and we are next to the fire escape stairway, so there is only one neighbor.
We have 40 channels of HD programming. The family room has a 46 inch HDTV and cozy gas fireplace. We also provide free broadband wired and wireless internet as well as free long distance telephone service to the continental united states.
The private bedroom has a king bed that looks out upon the peak where Powderhorn Lift ends. The second bedroom suite contains a queen-size bed, private bathroom, a sofa that can be converted to a sleeper desk, and magnificent mountain views. Each of the bedrooms has a TV a DVD/VCR. The family room also contains a sofa sleeper. These sofa sleepers have excellent support and are very comfortable beds.
A full kitchen with dishes and cooking amenities is provided if you do not want to dine in the village restaurants or at nearby Silver Fork Lodge. Since we are a two minute walk to the lift, this is a great place to come back to warm your toes, or enjoy lunch in the sun on the private deck.
One private underground parking space is provided with the unit as well as ski lockers just inside the entryway and garage. The shared washer and drier are conveniently located just down the hall on our floor.
Please visit our photo page using the links below for a virtual tour of our unit, including it's views. You can also book directly on that site.

Can't say enough good things about Ken and Dawn (the owners), and all the great recommendations they made to us. This was our first trip to Utah, but it won't be our last. Before our trip we had lots of questions, Ken and Dawn gave us great advice and recommendations about transportation to and from SLC airport, grocery services, and places to eat. The condo was great for our family - two parents and three teenagers. We loved the ski in - ski out, the spa at Solitude, the great view. We had a terrific vacation, and look forward to a return trip!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.
Great experience beginning to end

We had a wonderful experience renting and staying at this property. Making and booking a reservation over the internet was clear, fast and easy. The owners (Ken and Dawn) were friendly, professional and flexible. They sent us some very descriptive e-mails prior to our stay; they offered a service we greatly appreciated which allowed us to preorder discounted lift tickets, which were waiting in our condo on arrival; as no one had rented the unit after us, we were allowed a late check out, which allowed for a full day of skiing the last day as well as a shower before catching our plane; when I locked the keys in the unit after checking out and realized I left something there, Ken showed up in a few minutes to let us back in. Additionally, the unit has great views, is quiet and is very well located. We had a great time here and would highly recommend it.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

Excellent accomodations...the view of the mountain (made possible by being on the fifth floor) was so exciting to our girls to see every morning...I liked the privacy of facing the back of the lodge. Club Solitude (pool, hottub, foosball, etc) was a big hit, and only 20 yards away from front door. The Margherita pizza at the piza place 20 yards from front door was amazing...small taste better than large (better crust on the smalls). Shopped at super Target on the way up, and went back down to Reams mid week for groceries...local 'stores' had just the basic foods, milk and juice for a very steep price ($3 for 1/2 gallon of milk, $1-2 for pint of OJ...we go thru a gallon of milk/day). We had gotten a 4WD from Rugged Rental, and were very glad we did as it snowed 2 days out of 6, and also went showshoeing after taking an icy road up the mountain across from Solitude. The beds were comfortable, with lots of pillows and blankets. The TV/DVD was met with rave reviews from our girls, the storage of skis downstairs in locker really made it easy to get on to the slopes before the rest of the crowds made it over to the village and the Summit (nice to be the first down after ski patrol after a fresh snow from the summit)...We were not used to the dry air, so sleep was difficult until we got a humidifier, then much better. The internet connection is around 1.5 MB/sec (much less than cable modem at home, but fine for streaming NCAA bball games in High def)...they have ability to hardwire, and hooked up with no problems (they have a router on site with at least 3 ports...i brought my own cat 5 cables to plug in my laptops)We were very very happy with the accomodations...thanks for a wonderful stay.

The condo was wonderful. The views from the condo were amazing! Everything was perfect, clean and a great complement to our ski trip. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us and the beds were very comfortable. I am actually going to refer you to friends of mine that are trying to decide on where to stay for their ski trip this season. Thank you for use of your wonderful condo. Hopefully we will be able to make it out again next year. -Mary and company.

2/20 - 2/25/08 Loved the skiing and the incredible views from the room... Awesome to see the lifts in the morning & hear the avalanche control blasting!! The teenagers in the group loved the emptiness of Honeycomb Canyon & the views on the other side. Best of all ... no wait at the lifts -- we never get that on a weekend on the East coast. We love Utah skiing!! Dan, Christine, Daniel Boylan Patrick Glier Long Island, New York & Vermont skiiers

Transcribed to web from in-home guest book with permission of the guests: January 8, 2009 The Kubota Family From: Hilo, Hawaii The slope was beautiful, especially on our last day. There was so much snow. Our family loves to ski + snowboard so the experience was GREAT! The condo was perfect. It had everything. The fireplace was so warm and cozy. We all loved to sit by the fireplace and read. the beds + pillows were SO soft. Christopher tried to make a snowball with the snow on the balcony. In the end, the snowball was as heavy as 40 pounds and Chris could barely push it. Chris and his father both loved the pool and jacuzzi. It was a great time here. We are SO coming back. The Kubotas

Powderhorn 507/507A was a delightful condo. The unit is extremely well maintained and beautifully appointed. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed fixing meals there. What a lovely view. If we were to make a return visit I would see if this unit were available. Thank you for a wonderful respite!
