Do Not Book
Total Eclipse ruined. Didn't stay. Place was uninhabitable. Owner was staying in house. It was smokey, filled with garbage, dog feces and urine. VRBO did not help us find another property even though we shared pictures and had contact with them and they talked to the host. Host agreed to cancel so we could get a refund and never did. Still trying to work with VRBO to get money back for a vacation that never happened.

Perfect Location
The location was great as it was very close to the Marina and good restaurants reasonable distance. Cameron was a great host. He checked with us several time to make sure everything was ok. Ready to reserve for next year.

It’s okay
Upon arrival, the check in was smooth. Once we started exploring, we noticed quite a lack of cleanliness, general housekeeping and the worst part was a big patch of mold in the main hallway. Cameron is a nice guy, but this property needs serious attention. Weeds growing up through the deck with the lake view, very dirty outdoor furniture with sounder webs growing off of them. The grass was recently mowed and mulched, leaving tons of clippings all over. Screens are all broken so you can’t even open windows for fresh air without letting bugs in. An old garbage can full of very old garbage sits on the east side of the home instead of being removed. Some TLC and this could be a solid property. 8 guys on a golf getaway weekend can deal with it, but my family would have not accepted the conditions.

Great weekend!!
Great location and view. House was clean and had everything we needed. We also took advantage of the barn on the back of the property. Played some pool and games. Great sound system too. Cam, our host was great!

About the host

Hosted by Cameron Newpher

Host profile image
My name is Cameron Newpher, born and raised in Cleveland Ohio. I grew up spending most of my time on Lake Eire with my Family. My father was known as the 'Pirate' getting his name from all his sailing buddies who were all world class sailors and aggressive competitors. I grew up racing sailboats with him on Lake Erie and was commonly called little Newph - So the name Newph's Landing.

Why they chose this property

Since I grew up on Lake Erie, I always wanted a house that would provide me an excellent view of the lake and close to all the recreational activities found in Ashtabula County. Geneva on the Lake is several miles to the west of Newph's Landing, which has been a very popular resort area since the early 1900's. I purchased the home and completely renovated it to fit the Nautical Motif I grew-up knowing so well. It's PERFECT!

What makes this property unique

Newph's Landing on the Lake provides me a peaceful getaway with all the activities I enjoy on site or near by.
