Attention Green Bay Packer Fans!
Lake Shore House on Lake Michigan is the perfect place to stay if you are going to a home Packer game. It’s a quick fifty-minute drive from Lake Shore House to Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The house comfortably sleeps six adults. With a full modern kitchen you can prepare your tailgating spread while relaxing in front of the fireplace and looking at the ever changing Great Lake. We have hosted many Packer Fans over the years and they have commented that Lake Shore House combines a mini-vacation with seeing the Packers play their best game.

Lake Shore House is a fully equipped vacation rental on Lake Michigan. Beautiful unobstructed lake views on one of America’s Great Lakes, offers a relaxing mid-week, weekend, or week retreat. Since 2007 we have hosted hundreds of guests at Lake Shore House, providing them with ambience, cleanliness, and an easy reservation and access procedure. We are open 365 days a year. Guests come from Europe and all 50 states to enjoy the lake. In summer they enjoy the beach and tranquility, fall the autumnal colors and privacy, winter the frozen lake and winter activities and spring to cure cabin fever with a fresh getaway. The sunrise and moonrise shimmering across the lake have brought special memories to guests and families throughout the year and are reflected in the Lake Shore House visitor’s log.

Not your typical cookie-cutter destination, Lake Shore House offers privacy in a single-family home that features central air-conditioning, hardwood floors, laundry, wood-burning stove, one-car garage, expansive deck, updated kitchen and bathes. Sleeping accommodations for six, two second floor bedrooms with skylights and ceiling fans, one with a king size bed and a balcony overlooking the Lake, the other featuring a queen size bed, plus a queen sleeper sofa in the living room with abundant natural light from three directions. The main floor ceramic tile bath has a full-size tub with shower and pedestal sink. The lower level features a half-bath, laundry and a twin rollaway bed.

If you are a couple, single, family, multi-generational, girl’s getaway or other guest, we have hosted just about every type and lifestyle of guest. We embrace diversity. We are dog friendly and have had just about every breed of dog. If you would like to bring yours, tell us something about them, we rarely turn well groomed and behaved dogs away.

As your host, I am equipped to handle last-minute bookings. I am available by cell phone from 7 AM to 9 PM CST seven days a week.

You have a great lake house! It was perfect for a quick 2-day getaway weekend with close friends. We’re heading back to Chicago well rested and ready to take on the week. Thank-you for everything and we wish you the best.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful Lake Shore House with us. We really appreciated all the extra touches to make us feel welcome.
Michael & Karen, Aurora, Illinois

As I snooped around to familiarize myself to my new surroundings, I found that I was not wanting for anything. You have thought of everything! Teapot, blender, flashlight, sandwich bags, etc. Perfection! Oh yeah, and an up-to-date People Magazine, that I just saw in the store today! My very favorite thing was finding a note and my name on it, waiting on the dining room table for me.
Shaundi, Evansville, Wisconsin

Our 2nd Labor Day at Lake Shore House. The farmer’s market in town on Saturday has an amazing selection of vegetables and eats. We played tennis on South High School’s courts, visited Kohler Art Museum downtown and just enjoyed lazing in this relaxing spot.
Theresa & Bruce, Urbana, Illinois

We returned to Lake Shore House to celebrate our 25th anniversary. As always, everything was perfect! We never get tired of the beautiful view, walks on the beach and just relaxing in this peaceful retreat. We purchased the poster “Colors of Love” to remember our special celebration.
Bart & Liz, Ononomowoc, Wisconsin

The weather outside was frightful... However the accommodations, supplies and the location could not have been better. We had everything we needed for our weekend get-together with the additional luxury of the fantastic view. We intend to return to experience a variety of seasons. Additional stars for a most accommodating host!

Owner response: Lake Shore House is open and popular 365 days a year. Guests come in winter months to experience Lake Michigan's wonders, including ice bergs and a moon twinkling across the lake, a crackling fire in the wood stove with glass doors or cross-country skiing at Koelher/Andrae Sate Park, a short 10 minute drive. All restaurants and shops are open through-out the winter. If your looking for a winter getaway, put Lake Shore House on your short list. Our winter rates are reasonable.

We celebrated a birthday with friends and truly enjoyed our stay at Lakeshore House. The view of Lake Michigan is amazing! The home is well-maintained and the kitchen is well-equipped for all cooking and dining needs. The art on sight for purchase is a unique and fun addition to this rental. The neighbors on Lake Shore Drive were friendly and downtown Sheboygan and Kohler were just a short cab ride away. The owner/artist was very accessible and it was wonderful to be able to meet him on the day we departed.

Owner response: Lake Shore House has hosted those who are celebrating a birthday, anniversary and other milestones. We have hosted honeymooners as well. Our kitchen is well stocked. In addition to the usual pots and pans, we also have a coffee grinder and maker, toaster, blender, electric hand mixer, large roasting pan and assorted glass baking dishes. Say hello to my neighbors, they are friendly and like to meet the guests from all over the country that visit Sheboygan and stay at Lake Shore House.

January isn't a typical month for touring but I was looking for somewhere to go that was within 2 hours and that I had never visited. So off we went to Sheboygan and Lake Shore House! Well, we were not disappointed! The house is charming! The decor is simple yet tasteful. We particularly enjoyed the owners artwork displayed throuout the house. A nice touch. The view of Lake Michigan is wonderful. We lingered over breakfast each morning just to enjoy it. The house is tidy, clean and stocked with the necessities. I am planning to return! The owner of Lake Shore House was very easy to work with and was a great help with restaurant reccomdations and things to see and do. Michael J. Kohler Art center, Kohler museum and shops, and antiquing were a few highlights.

Owner response: January bookings are popular at Lake Shore House. We have special rates in January, for guests seeking a close by getaway. There are lots to do in winter in Sheboygan. Cross-country skiing and hiking at Kohler Andre State Park, dining along the wharf or downtown, shopping on Eighth Street, visiting the arts center and Kohler. The Stephanie J. Weill Center for the Performing Arts offers live theater and music. If you like to get out and about, you have many options.

The sunrise itself on the lake is worth a visit! We received an informative and quick response to our request for availability, rates etc. That set the overall tone for our stay. When we arrived the house was clean as a whistle, and a hand written welcome note from the owner was on the dining room table, nice touch. The weather was perfect, we spent many hours outside enjoying the view of freighters, kite-boarders and sailboats in the nicely landscaped yard. We thought we might do some sight-seeing, but we found ourselves just hanging out and enjoying the experience of a Great Lake. As we were checking out, the owner Mark arrived to clean and prepare the house himself for the next guests. He’s a friendly and personal able guy. His art is displayed throughout the house, adds to the ambiance.

Owner response: The sunrises are magnificent, if you want to get up early to enjoy them! A real surprise for me is the moonrises over Lake Michigan. Nothing more beautiful than twinkling moonshine across the lake. I am an avid gardener. There is a nice mix of lawn, perennials and shrubs. Both sides of the yard are screened with tall fences and hedges for privacy. I do most of the cleaning and preparation between guests for quality control. Occasionally I might have a personal or business commitment that prohibits me from cleaning; I then have a cleaning person come in.

80% of the weekend was filled with fog and rain. However, the home provided an experience that was worth it no matter what the weather. For a short time Saturday we were able to enjoy some outdoor things, like a bike ride down to the dog park and sitting on the patio enjoying the sounds and views of the lake. The home provided everything that was needed to make our stay comforting. Great views, quiet neighbors. Lake shore drive does seem to be above average traffic but by no means was it an issue. We hope to come back again, hopefully the weather cooperates, but if it doesnt, we will know our stay will still be relaxing.

Owner response: The weather and Lake Michigan are always changing. I’ve see calm mornings and big waves by afternoon. The ice on the lake in January with steam rising is a favorite of mine. Summer thunder and lightning storms as they move over the lake are fascinating to watch. The dog park is a ten minute walk, it is on Lake Michigan and popular with local dog owners.

I have been visiting Lakeshore House 1-2 times a year for the last 3-4yrs and keep coming back. My friends and I love to cook up a storm when we stay, and find that all that we need for creative cooking is provided. Mark is a great host and has thought of everything. If he didn't think of it, tell him and he will make sure it will be there next time. The cottage has always been spotless and comfortable, the view incredible and we love Mark's artwork! Of all the places I have stayed through VRBO this one is tops! You will not be sorry.

Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: I have stayed in many VRBO listings myself. I have learned through these visits how to make Lake Shore House more functional for guests. Many guests do a lot of cooking; we are prepared for those guests. We also have many guests who dine out quite a bit. There is a local event, dining and information binder in the living room to help you decide where to eat, recreate, shop and enjoy Sheboygan.

My husband & I booked this sweet gem for 2 nights while planning our annual 5-day WI road trip. It is pristine. The beds and bedding are cozy. Mark's knack for architectural and decorating detail is evident throughout the home. We also have booked quite a few private vacation rentals through VRBO, including Puerto Rico. This is one of our favorites that we hope to return to.

Owner response: We have many returning guests. Some have stayed twice a year over the course of the last four years. We clean all of our bedding ourselves. New sheets and pillow cases are purchased annually. Comforters, blankets and mattress pads are replaced as needed. I take pride in the décor of Lake Shore House, and place seasonal items around the house for a homey touch.

We have stayed at Lake Shore House many times over the last several years. It offers fabulous views of lake Michigan and has all the comforts of home. A wood burning stove is great on cold Fall or winter days. The art work is also fun. We have purchased several pieces for our home in Oconomowoc. Several excellent restaurants are near by, but the kitchen is fully equipped if we want to cook. We always look forward to a relaxing get away with magical sun rises over the lake every morning. At the end of each visit, we can't wait to book another weekend to return to lake shore house!

Owner response: The wood stove in the living room is cast iron with an open front with glass doors for viewing. Guests supply their own firewood, readily available in Sheboygan. The art is always changing at Lake Shore House. I rotate to galleries or exhibits or sell paintings each month. A guest once said that it’s like staying in an art gallery!
