We wanted to stay on the North Shore and booked the Hale Kipuka literally the day before our arrival. The booking process was painless and the staff was quick to answer questions about the property. This was our first time renting a house anywhere, so we were a little skeptical about what it would actually look like on our arrival. The previous reviews of the house are accurate but don't fully do it justice. The house sits on a beautiful property with a very nice beach steps from the wrap around deck. The house was literally perfect for our short 6 day stay. We had no problem finding the house at all. It's very close to Haleiwa where you have a great selection of shops and places to eat. We enjoyed Bonzai sushi and the Grass Skirt Grill for lunch and Haleiwa Joe's for dinner. The beach that the property is on was nice and quiet with very few people all week. Most days it was just us and a few locals. Waimaia Bay is a short drive up the road and Sunset beach is just beyond that. The property's location was perfect. We are looking forward to our return and plan to come back with some friends next year.

  a guest from Vancouver, Washington recommends this vacation rental We stayed 5 nights at Hale Kipuka during Thanksgiving week. It's a great location and the house is well maintained. There were certain things that could not be controlled by the management such as the neighbor's cat dragging a "kill" to under the house (perhaps making the bottom less accessible to cats). Otherwise, it's a perfect house on a perfect location for the winter getaway. We are planning a return trip.

  Tommy R from san francisco, Ca recommends this vacation rental While I made the reservations for this home, my friends hadn't a clue what the place would be like. Neither did I. We were all very excited when we walked in. We hung out on the lawn, surfed out front, made great dinners, slept while listening to the surf. It's the perfect place.

The location was amazing--we could whalewatch from our porch and the turtles came right up on the beach! The only things that were a little frustrating were that the main living room doors were stuck and didn't open, and the lights in the 3rd bedroom didn't work. The property manager came over, and sent a maintenance guy, but it was determined to be a Pella door issue--so nothing could be done. Also, no non-stick pans! Manager Responded on 3/12/2011 Pella has been called to fix the doors even though they had been out 3 months ago. The weather must have made the doors swell.Thanks for the info on the pans we will put some in the home.

The house was clean and had all the amenities for a perfect holiday. We watched the whales, turtles and brilliant sunsets from the lawn! We'll be back!

  a guest from Alber recommends this vacation rental The house and location were beautiful, the beach was pristeen, we saw sea turtles and got to body surf, boogie board, wonderful! The house was fully stocked, self contained, plenty of towels for everyone, and had beach toys for children. The only thing extra we could have used was some type of beach chair for taking down into the sand. It was nice to have the front driveway gated, we certainly felt more secure. We never wanted to leave! Would definitely consider staying there again

The kitchen is wonderful and well equipped. Comfortable couch and chair and TV. Bedrooms are small but enough room for storage. Only one bathroom in the main house, second half bath in the converted garage along with washer and dryer. House would be too small for 6 people but comfortable for four adults.

Sunsets from the house were great and we saw Turtles on the beach directly from the beach in front of the house. The house had all of the amenities we needed including cooking utensils, barbecue, washer & dryer, wifi, great coffee maker, etc... It didn't feel like a rental home at all. We had the opportunity to meet the owner when we showed up early. She clearly takes pride in creating a great experience for her guests. We will be back very soon.
