Twenty-seven years ago in 1974, Cabo San Lucas was an increasingly popular vacation destination at what locals call "Land's End" at the tip of the Magnificent Baja Peninsula. Architect Manuel Diaz Rivera purchased 360 acres of barren land on the rugged northwestern outskirts, slightly removed from the growing town, where the landscape was simply magnetic.
