  I would have given this place five stars, but two things stood in the way. I was told our rate (4,200) for the week had no other charges. On check out we had to pay a cleaning fee. If you are going to say "no other charges" then mean it! The kitchen had almost no overhead lighting which made food/drink prep in the evening difficult. I did mention this to the front desk but nothing was ever done to fix the problem. There are big glass panels covering the light bulbs, so it is a big job, however, when renting a high end condo I do expect simple things like adequate kitchen lighting would not be an issue. The interior, while showing slight signs of age, was nicely appointed. The beds are comfortable, the water pressure is good, and all appliances work well. The kitchen was supplied with enough silverware, knives that are actually sharp, glasses, cookware, etc. It would be nice if the maids did not strip the place of spices and condiments. A little selection of spices and some oil or dish soap is always a nice surprise. The deck is great! It's huge and has hammocks and a nice perchlike area to relax, have a drink, and whale and/or wave watch. The wifi works well on the deck. There are bugs so bring some bug spray if you want to stay on the deck in the evening. The Terrasol's location is really good. A short walk to the marina. We walked past the Solmar and over the rocks to Divorce and Lovers beach. If you walk further you can do some snorkeling and jump off a rock into the ocean. If you keep walking you end up at the far side of the marina and the bottom of the Terrasol driveway. We did this loop often.

  Owner response: I thank Ramona and Marc for their comments, to set the "record straight", when this reservation was made on Aug 27 last year, the CONFIRMATION included the following verbiage [along with 10 pages of helpful hints, to make our clients' stay more pleasant] - and I quote: CLEANING: - Condo will be thoroughly cleaned at our cost before you arrive Additional cleanings [towel & sheet changes] you desire can be scheduled 1 day before, at the Front Desk, at a charge of $36/clean - The condo has to be cleaned when you leave. To facilitate that, the Front Desk will charge you $36 for that service - a maid will come after 10.30 on your last day to clean the Penthouse and ready it for our next arriving guests !! [We were 95% full, Nov-Apr] On the glass covering overhead lighting in the kitchen - unfortunately, this requires 2 things - special lighting & about 4 Maintenance people working for many, many hours A) we did not want to inconvenience the clients and B) we wanted to get the proper lights which are apparently coming from Guadalajara So, this will be taken care of next week. I did ask the Front Desk to advise the clients of this, I apologize if this communication did not get through - we call the "the 20% Mexican-Factor" down here - ranks up there with the "manana-attitude" !!   The penthouse was a great place to stay for my family & I. It provided all of the amenities needed plus. The terrace alone was worth the stay. Every morning I drank my cup of coffee while relaxing on the terrace enjoying a spectacular view. The location of the resort is very convenient as well. It's walking distance to the marina & the downtown. For $500/night you cannot go wrong. On the other hand, Terrasol needs some work. It's an older resort & some of the amenities are lacking. The "gym", if that's what they want to call it, was very small & the equipment was older than the hills. Most of the aerobic equipment did not even function properly. The pool with the swim up bar was nice but it was understaffed. It took too long to get a drink. Though the food was good. On the beach there were old beach chairs available but no service on the beach. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We love Cabo! I would recommend to stay at the penthouse as long as you're okay with the downfalls of the resort itself.

FYI, every person that inquires about our 4 units at Terrasol, a 1, 2 2 and this 3-BR Penthouse, gets this response: "I should note that in addition to the limited amenities that Terrasol have on site, [very modest gym, pool bar-restaurant] our clients frequently stroll across the beach to these resorts .... Solmar [east], and Playa Grande [west], and even Finisterra or the stunning Capella Resort [both to the west, same beach]. It takes 1 to 5 minutes to get to all, and they then take advantage of the amenities, activities, kids clubs, spa, fitness centers, restaurants, bars, day-care etc., etc., that these resorts [pay for services], offer - they are happy to have you bring them your custom [and money] !! Very, very convenient." But in closing, I can tell you that our clients always appreciate leaving the madding-crowds of these Timeshare Resorts behind - and coming home to the low-density, peace, quiet and tranquility that is Terrasol !! There is seldom such a thing as perfect, if it was, the Penthouse would rent out for $1000 a night ....... but this is as close to perfection and heaven as you can get to - in Cabo !!

  I stayed for 2 weeks and had a vacation of a lifetime. Sitting on the deck overlooking the Pacific Ocean I really had no desire to ever leave the penthouse. Most nights we made our own meals and enjoyed dining on the deck watching the sunsets. Inside beautifully modern which was a nice departure from other rentals we had in mexico. Definitely would go back

  Wow...we were so impressed with the Penthouse! The pictures are great..but when we walked in we were absolutely "blown away". What a pleasant surprise to book a vacation exceeds your expectations!!
