The moment we opened the door upon arrival and smelled the ocean breeze blowing down the hall and then saw the endless line of waves approaching the shore my friends and I gave each other a high five. Its not called the Emerald Coast for nothing. The ocean was so close that from the living room you felt as though you were on a ship. Location is everything here. This condo is on the top floor at the end of the building with low profile private homes to the west so you are not only treated to sweeping views of the beach and ocean from a private balcony but also guaranteed a magnificant sunset each night from either the balcony or the beach directly below. Just to hammer the point in, the highlight of this place is the view of ocean, beach and sunset. As for the condo itself it had all the amenities you would need from fresh sheets for the beds to towels and dishwasher soap. The kitchen was ready to go if you decided to forgo the many restaurants available nearby and prepare a homecooked meal. The interior design had a beach house feel to it and the two bedrooms and bathrooms with full sized washer and dryer gave us plenty of space to spread out. The furniture, decor, wall paint colors, modern kitchen and bathrooms and 3 TV's were all up to date. The only drawback is the 3 flights of stairs needed to climb to the condo which shouldn't be a problem for people in reasonably good shape. But remember without the height you wouldn't have that incredible view. I would highly recommend this condo as it probably is unique in the building by its location. My friends and I spent 3 fun filled days and nights here and I felt we got our money's worth. The photos and description of the condo don't do this place justice.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay recently in this condominium unit. This 3rd floor end unit (extra window!) was very clean and nicely decorated. The expansive views of the white sand beach and Gulf were amazing, as were the sunsets from the 3rd floor balcony. Having a fireplace, jacuzzi, and washer/dryer in the unit was so nice. Comfy beds, three tvs, lots and lots of storage space, and two beach chairs provided. Close to Panama City Beach and Destin, but far enough away to avoid their crowds. The beach, even over Spring Break, was uncrowded and peaceful. The owner returns e-mails right away, and is easy to work with. This unit would be perfect for anyone except people that have a hard time with stairs, as there are many to get up to the unit, and to get down to the beach. Highly recommended!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

As portrayed in the listing, the views are AMAZING! We all loved sitting on the balcony and watching the gulls and pelicans fly overhead as well as seeing the people down on the beach. I do have a strong suggestion, though about the bunk beds (lower, for sure). Please replace the mattresses. I volunteered to sleep there so the older folks would have the beds and it was not acceptable. The mattress seriously was not supportive. My aunt, who weighs about 90 lbs, couldn't believe I slept on it. I loved the curtains that could be pulled over, though. That was a great idea. Also, I think think the temperature should be set lower to welcome guests. When we arrived on the 5th, I know that the condo had only been empty for 1 full day but the temperature was set at 78 degrees and it wasn't even "dry" in the condo so the first night was a little warm. It took almost a full 24 hours for the temperature to reach the 73 degrees we desperately needed. None of use used the balcony the first night or next morning because of this but when we returned from lunch it was fine. We thought the management had sent someone quickly because we had asked the first morning about it and when we returned after lunch it was cool. But when I called to thank them, they said they hadn't reached the guys to come and see it yet. So that worked out fine. There is a housekeeping issue. When I had to remove the cushions from the 2 chairs in the living room for the 2nd nights sleep on the bunk bed there was a ton of sand (which may still be there) right under them. Along with the sand was a black rubber bracelet with "I LOVE ZOMBIES" in neon green letters. Pretty funny. I tried to get my aunt (in her late 70's) to claim it but she refused to concede it was hers. I left the sand where it was and left the bracelet on a shelf for whoever wanted it. I understand this is right on the beach, but having worked in housekeeping back in my early 20's an exclusive oceanside resort on Cape Cod, I would have never left a suite with the temp that high or the furniture unchecked. Not for the $80 cleaning fee that is charged. We did not leave a tip for the cleaning crew because of this. So, except for the bunk bed (which again I strongly suggest be replaced) it was a pleasurable stay. I would recommend this as a place to stay in area. It was close to everything we needed. I even took my dad to Pensacola to visit his 2 $1.00 bills at the Irish Pub.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We're glad you enjoyed your stay. We have purchased new mattresses and will address the sandy chairs with the housekeeping staff. Thanks for letting us know and we hope to have you back soon!

Overall we had a great time. A few issues with the property. The sliding door to the balcony was an absolute nightmare to open and close. We all strained our backs trying to operate it. It needs to be replaced immediately. The king bed upstairs and the bunkbeads need the mattress a and box spring replaced. We did not appreciate the condition and the noise the bed made as soon as you moved an inch. You def need better ventilation in the bathroom it's disgusting the oily residue that is running down every wall. In general with the amount of money that is being charged the accommodations need to be in much better condition. If you have not been there lately you need to walk thru with a guests point of view.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for letting us know! We will get those issues addressed promptly!

Wonderful stay at Mistral 24. Enjoyed the west end unit on the 3th floor and got lots of exercise going down to the beach! Beautiful azure water and uncrowded area. Kids enjoyed surfing a few days, until the waves got a bit flat - but still enjoyed the clear water. Rained every day, but not for long and it was a very enjoyable stay. Kitchen has all the necessities - enjoyed use of it and washer/dryer. Definitely would stay here again..Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The condo was perfect for our girls beach trip! The view is amazing, the balcony is very private and the loft is so nice! The king size bed was super comfy and the bathroom was upgraded. I will say the bunkbeds are strickly for children. Us being small girls, some stayed on them and they are not comfortable. Also, the refrigerator didn't seem to be cooling very well the first day we were there and we found out the reality company doesn't actually have 24 hour service. It was resolved the next day however and none of our food went to waste so it was okay. Over all I would highlly recommend the condo. The owner Angela was awesome and we all had a wonderful time!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: I'm glad that we were able to resolve the maint. issue quickly. We hope to have you back to celebrate your anniversary!

About the owner: My husband and I are both in the Air Force and love to travel. We have twin sons and a cat. One of our favorite places is Hwy 30-A.
Why the Owner Chose Mistral:
Hwy 30-A is the best place for a family vacation. The beaches are quiet and clean. It is close to Panama City Beach, but seems a world away. We bought this condo to enjoy as a family and hope to live there full time when we retire from the Air Force. Until then--we hope you will stay and enjoy it as much as we do.
