The Area: The building borders a lovely park, Square du Temple which contains lush gardens and a wonderful children’s playground. This historic location in the heart of Le Marais is just a few minutes walk from the Pompidou Center, the Picasso Museum, Musee Carnavalet Musée d'Art et d'Histoire du Judaïsme, Republique, and Place de Vosges. The oldest covered market in Paris, le Marché des Enfants Rouges dating from the early 17th century is 3 blocks away on the lively rue de Bretagne. This wondrous street, is a favorite local resident spot for gourmet foods, meat, cheese, wine and flowers. One should not miss strolling this charming area.
For those who are interested in history (or fans of the Da Vinci Code), The Quartier Temple area was home to the 12th century Knights Templar. The historic Templar Tower stood at the edge of Square du Temple and was replaced by the Carreau du Temple in 1807. The area surrounding Square du Temple is a hip, vibrant, and cosmopolitan neighborhood brimming with cafés, restaurants ,art galleries and shops.
