This house was just what we wanted and we had a great vacation. It was centrally located for us to spend 2 days at Legoland (8 miles away), visit Epcot (30 minutes away), Kennedy Space Center (1.5 hours away) and Tampa (1 hour away). The house had a well-equipped kitchen and was in a quiet area. There was plenty of room for our 5 children, aged 2 to 14, and they especially enjoyed playing in the lake and the pool. There is a grocery store, a drug store and restaurants nearby. If you arrive after dark, be sure to bring a flashlight. This is a great property with all the comforts of home. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds are firm and comfortable. We visited Lego Land, Sea World and Medieval Times during our visit. I would have been happy to just sit at the condo and bird watch though. The cranes, ibises, spoonbills and ducks were a welcome sight after many years away from South Florida. This unit was perfect for my family as I was working in Auburndale area! It's within walking distance of a park/playground. It has all the amenities a family could ask for - all the way down to marshmallow skewers for the grill. The extra towels and linens available made our stay that much easier. We made several evening trips to downtown Disney (an easy 30 minute drive) and a day trip to Magic Kingdom. The family also made the 45 minute trip over to the excellent Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa and the Fantasy of Flight museum just a few minutes away in Polk City. We even got to see the space shuttle launch and vapor trail as the sun rose right over Lake Hartridge. The owners are very easy to deal with, even when I had to ask for a last minute extension.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My siblings and I needed a place in Winterhaven to stay while celebrating our mother's 80th birthday. We enjoyed the space, and the view. The men in the group even commented on the niceness of the decor. We did find that the cabinet in the dining room needed to covered while playing cards due to the mirror. We stayed for 5 days and it was one of the most memorable vacations we've experienced. Each morning we got to enjoy a nice breakfast in the lanai while viewing the lake, just a peaceful getaway. We found this a good central location to experience both sides of Florida. We traveled to Clearwater Beach on the Gulf and Daytona Beach on the Atlantic. The house was better than we had hoped for, and would recommend this to anyone! Tom and Betty were very honest and I would rate their level of communication as top notch! Decorated in a professional style, rooms done in lovely jamaican colors. Large, luxurious master bedroom w/ very nice dressing room/ bathroom.The lake view from the screened porches in lvr. and mstr bdrm was beautiful ( mesmurizing) 2 1/2 baths wshr/dryer upstairs. Remote controlled garage. Perfect! We came for the Florida Outpouring-FreshFire -Todd Bentley Conference in Lakeland (30 min. away) at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport - Go, it was excellent! We went to Indian Rocks Beach/1 hr. 15 min-fabulous/ Lake Wales/fishing/train museum/ played golf (5 min. away) / enjoyed the pool/ loved the view from the pool. Can't wait to come back soon. One week wasn't enough. Maybe two next time. Thanks Tom & Betty.
