Cassis Condo Gorgeous Ocean View from Apartment, Pool, Provence
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This apartment rental is a first class apartment. It has recently been painted and tiled and furnished with exquisite furniture and Limoges dishes as a self-catering holiday rental with a pool. It is located in the romantic town of Cassis on the Mediterranean sea, part of the French Riviera, in the heart of the Provence region and close to the Lubéron.
The area is a paradise for vacations. For gamblers, the town has a Las Vegas style Casino.
This apartment rental has two bedrooms with queen-size beds and one bedroom with a bunk bed. It has two and a half bathrooms. It sleeps six. The building has a pool which is available to renters and plenty of parking. You also get a free Internet connexion and we provide all the linens and after departure cleaning.
The apartment is at a seven minutes walk from the town center, the Casino & the beaches.
The ocean view from the living room& the balcony is gorgeous: you see the old harbour, the 12th century castle and the 380 meter cliff (Cap Canaille).
Cassis is well known for the Calanques (Fjords in Norse) in the white cliffs between Cassis and Marseille. The old harbor is the prettiest harbor on the French Riviera, more so than Saint-Tropez, Bandol, Sanary or Monaco.
Hiking in the surrounding hills is one of the favorite pastimes. The trails in the pine forests follow the cliffs around the Calanques: breath taking.
You can also spend the afternoon, sipping French coffee at one of the outdoor cafés on the piers. At night, you have the choice of restaurants for a romantic evening in Cassis.
Cassis is in the heart of Provence, 30 minutes from Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, 60 minutes from Arles & Avignon, 90 minutes from Cannes/Nice.
The town produces an excellent white wine; wineries are all over town.

We stayed just ahead of Christmas when Cassis was exceptionally (and unusually!) cold, but the apartment was beautifully warm. There are three good-sized, comfortable bedrooms and a large sitting room with large balcony. Full length windows show off the fantastic view over the town of Cassis and out to sea, with the Cap Canaille and the harbour clearly visible. Superb - even in winter, sitting inside with a glass of something, it was a pleasure just to gaze out at the view. The property was spotlessly clean and is well-equiped. Cassis in winter is quieter than summer and some of the restaurants are closed but it is still a busy little place with lots of life. The wonderful Friday market takes place as usual and, right in the middle of all the stalls, a skating rink had been set up outside the Mairie. And there was even snow - not the real stuff but a whole roundabout on the way into Cassis had been decorated with faux snow and a Christmas tree! The property owner had provided excellent information about the apartment and about Cassis, etc, before hand. Everything was very efficient both before and after our visit. I would be happy to recommend the property. And, having previously visited Cassis in spring and summer, I can now confirm it is a great all-year-round destination!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Indeed it was a cold winter even for Cassis. Thank you for your kind comments; I thrive to have my renters happy with their stay.

We recently returned from a week-long stay at Roland's apartment in Cassis. We chose the location due to its proximity to the Luminy campus of Euromed Management as our daughter is studying there for the semester. An alert, if you plan to travel that route - the road D559 between Cassis and Luminy is a narrow, twisting, high-elevation mountain road that was quite intimidating on the first trip. The apartment is nicely situated close to the town center but high enough to provide beautiful views. The apartment itself is exactly as described; plenty of room for up to 6 people and is furnished with everything you might need for your stay. Roland was consistently responsive and provided a great deal of detailed information about the apartment itself, the building and the area so we had no issues whatsoever with locating and accessing the property. It takes about 10 minutes to walk down to the port area; parking can be scarce so would recommend walking whenever possible. There are a number of restaurants and shops lining the port and in the immediate area, as well as a very nice beach, so there is really no need to leave the area unless you choose to. We particularly enjoyed a small pizza restaurant called La Fringale, otherwise known as 'Chez Marcel.' The town market is held on Wednesday and Friday mornings; we were able to put together a great dinner of seafood, vegetables, cheese, bread etc with supplies purchased quite inexpensively at the various market stands. There is a small complex of food shops just a few hundred yards down from the apartment building that offers a great selection of supplies including a good variety of prepared foods, as well as nice wine shop just the other side of the roundabout. We toured several of the area vineyards; our favorite was Domaine du Paternel. We also took day trips to Avignon and Aix-en-Provence; would highly recommend visiting both of those cities, particularly Aix-en-Provence. If you go there, plan to spend most of a day - we only had about 4 hours which was not long enough to really explore and appreciate the area. Overall, a very pleasant stay. One note - we found that in many of the restaurants and shops in Cassis, and at the market, English was not well spoken or understood - so it would be very helpful to have at least a basic understanding of French in order to read & order from menus, etc. We were there in the off-season so it might be different in the summer when there are more employees.Owner response: Thank you, Susan. I appreciate your very accurate review. See you soon. Roland

This spacious, sunny, quiet condo overlooking the Cassis harbor is delightful. The large, bright living room -- and large deck on the front -- look out onto the sea, the village below and the castle on the hilltop. It's the perfect spot to settle in with a glass of wine and watch the setting sun over the hills surrounding this beautiful Mediterranean village. The condo itself is clean, well-equipped, and a wonderful location from which to explore Cassis, neighboring seaside villages, vineyards and the gorgeous calanques. The owner is wonderful to deal with, extremely well-organized, and eager to help you make the most of your stay in Cassis. We appreciated his very detailed instructions, tourist information, grocery shopping details, and restaurant recommendations -- not to mention a wealth of maps and tourist books in the condo. The steps up and down the steep hillside could be challenging for some, but the city has parking lots nearby with very inexpensive shuttle -- and taxis at night. If you're not in a hurry, the short walk downtown and back is exhilarating. We highly recommend staying in this condo, whether you're a honeymooning couple, a family, or a couple of seniors who just want to relax and soak in the Provence atmosphere.Owner response: Thank you, Sue. See you again.

We arrived and followed directions for opening the gate to park in front of the building. Getting the apartment key from the locked box to open the door required patience and focus. Your next door neighbor did offer assistance and we really appreciated his help. The apartment was beautiful, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The view from the living room and from its balcony was at all times of day a real treasure. The kitchen was great and user friendly. The dining room with its great mural gave us a warm cultural view. The provençal tablecloth was so inviting. The wine was such a warm way to celebrate Cassis. Merci, encore une fois. Getting to the center of town and the port was even easy for the directionally challenged. Sunday, we happened upon a small open market of paintings and photography of Cassis. We took advantage of your great suggestions for exploring the area. The route des Crêtes gave us great views of the Calanques, climbers and hikers. ( Two bicyclists from Germany made it to each stop before us in our car ! ) We appreciated your directions for shopping for food and other things. Took a boat tour of the Calanques early in the week and since the Mistral visited briefly later in the week we were glad to have already fit in the visits that the wind might have postponed. Got to visit Saint Tropez and Cannes. We also briefly visited Aix, la Ciotat and Aubagne. All four of us preferred your beautiful town. We met the concierge and her husband and they were so kind and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place. I would recommend it and have already. Hope to visit again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Linda for your kind words. Roland

We loved Cassis and really enjoyed the apartment. It was in a very upscale complex and fully equipped. We enjoyed dinners eating on the balcony while watching the great view of the town and water. There is a dedicated walking path to get to town and it is shorter than it looks - 7 minutes down, and not much more going up hill back to the apartment ! Great exercise ! We would highly recommend this apartment, and are looking forward to a return trip, and will stay at the same apartment for sure !Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, daughter and our two friends stayed for two weeks in your beautiful apartment. The view and the balcony were my very favorite. We chose to have many of our dinners in because what could be better than the breathtaking view of Cassis. We would go down to the port later for Gelato and wine. The town is so lovely and full of life but yet not overcrowded. Market days were excellent and the men had a blast Kayaking to the calanques (and jumping off cliffs) We took many day trips as far as Monte Carlo and Arles but we decided the place we wanted to call home for our vacation was Cassis. The pool is clean the keepers are helpful and kind. Even if you don't speak a lick of French we all seemed to to wade our way through. Roland was helpful from start to finish. I can't think of anything I would do differently but stay longer:) I highly recommend this place and will be back one day.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had another fabulous vacation at this charming apartment overlooking the village of Cassis. The apartment comes with a fully equipped kitchen, TV, wireless internet, and an Ipod dock for your music. Roland makes sure that there is a chilled bottle of local wine in the fridge. There is a pool to cool off on those hot summer days. The views are stunning! You could just stay in Cassis, take the 10-minute walk down to the village, eat, drink, & swim; there is no need to leave this idyllic village. But, with not much effort you can explore the surrounding area: take a hike in the Calanques, drive the Route des Cretes, visit Aix en Provence. A bit further afield, you can explore the amazing hilltop villages of the Luberon. For the best meal ever, I recommend the challenging drive to le Chateau at Calanque de Sormiou, a 30 minute drive from Cassis (near Marseille). We have done all these things, and more. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Katherine. I am waiting for you. Roland
