I had the pleasure of staying at your vacation rental. The house was very clean and very inviting. The scenery of the Greenbelt was beautiful. Everything about the house was great. Also appreciated that the house was pet friendly. My personal opinion of anyone taking a dog to a vacation rental is that the dog should be crated at night or when people are gone from the house. That I did. The owners were very nice and very accommodating. The location made you feel as if you were in the middle of nowhere, but in reality you were only a few blocks from local businesses. Loved the off leash park nearby.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at your house! Great location near the water and close to our family who lives in Olalla. Wish we could have used the back deck, but it was too cold this time on year. We will make sure we come back during a warmer season. Thank you for your wonderful house, we had everything we needed and more!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Do come back. When you come again, be sure to check out the ferry system. It's fun, relaxing and economical to use, not the mention the spectacular views throughout Puget Sound.

We were here for two and half weeks on an extended trip to Port Orchard. We found the house to be just what we needed. It was so nice to have a home away from home. Very comfortable and fully furnished to meet all our needs. Deer welcomed us in the side yard on several occasions. We loved that the house was located in such a quite part of town. We if ever come back to Port Orchard we will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: For a quiet, peaceful setting, with easy access to Port Orchard, Bremerton and downtown Seattle, the location can't be beat. Thank you for your business and do come back again.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was nice, easy to find and very convenient. Surprisingly, based on how close we were to downtown, we watched deer in the front yard and also a woodpecker. We hope to return next year.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.
Owner response: We love the location of the house on the edge of the green belt. It provides a very peaceful, natural habitat. And, access to Seattle by ferry is fun and easy. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to your return!

This house is very peaceful, quiet, and beautiful inside. There are deer in the morning and a rain forest type environment out back, which you can enjoy from a huge deck. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, shopping and sight seeing within a couple blocks walk from the place as well. Highly recommend staying here, great location, and the owners are great.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, pet owners, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing.
Owner response: The forest, the flowers, puffy clouds, a beautiful clear sky, the water and the Olympic mountaints in the background . . . we love it all. We just gave the front yard a new stamped cement driveway, walkway, and patio with bistro set. It's a another spot in our home away from home for our guests to relax and enjoy the great outdoors, yet not be far from civilization.

The home was nice and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed the fireplace. Drawbacks were no wireless (ethernet only so only one computer at a time could be used), and no VCR or DVD Player.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for the suggestions. We have added high speed, wireless internet, VCR/DVD player . . . and a china set. The comfort of our guests is important to us.

If looking for a lovely, well appointed and generously provided "home" this is it. You will be nestled in a very quiet cal de sac in the middle of woods where you most likely will see deer from your windows or from a great porch overlooking the woods; the squirrels will most certainly be your friends - if you treat them right. Port Orchard is a charmingly friendly village from which you are able to use public transportation to most anywhere (if willing to walk short distances and learn the routes) via foot ferry and the state ferries to Seattle and beyond. We stayed for a month without a vehicle, traveled most of the area, and saw most of the sights for less than $200 with our ORCA passes (available at Safeway or at the Bremerton Ferry Landing). The owners offer a special bonus with their pleasant, unobtrusive, and welcoming personalities. If only this property were for sale! Dean and DorothyRecommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: An appreciation of natural beauty and a sense of adventure will take you a long ways!

The house was very centrally located for our needs. We had a little trouble with the weather being a little warm and no air conditioning or fans in the house. We have small children and some of the furniture required constant vigilance so I would recommend this house more for families with children over 10 years old. The neighbors and the gardening people were very helpful and pleasant to talk to. We were able to easily access the whole Kitsap Peninsula with our location.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Fans are accessible, but they are rarely needed.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: After teaching for thirty four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, we have retired to a life of creating 'home'(s)along the west coast and sharing with others. Our Port Orchard home is a keeper! When we are not working on a home, in a yard, or on the computer, we are enjoying grandchildren, traveling, reading, walking with friends or 'workng out' at the YMCA.
Why the Owner Chose Port Orchard:
We love the ambience, especially the fresh air, forests, clear skies and the natural beauty of the Puget Sound area. It is a great place to take a deep breath, relax, enjoy nature, and explore the wealth of outdoor activities. Being removed from the huslte and bustle of major cities, yet still having easy access to Seattle and other favorites like Gig Harbor, Silverspring, Tacoma, and British Columbia has been an important consideration for us.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One chief advantage of staying here is the price: It is very inexpensive for what you get. Also, access to downtown Seattle via the ferry is simple, yet pleasurable with fantasstic scenery along the way. Best of all the house is clean, comfortable, well equipped and very peaceful.
