Cal, The house was great. The kitchen was well stocked--we were impressed that there was a wine decanter (2 in fact). We had a fantastic stay. Thank you. Regards, Mike?Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful birthday and college graduation weekend at Clara's Cottage. It was an ideal and roomy place for friends and family. We gathered for dinners and cook outs, and hung out in the backyard and on the porch. We also enjoyed using fresh herbs from the garden! The kitchen was well-stocked and the beds were very comfortable after long days.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Nancy! Nothing makes me happier than to hear such good news!

We were very pleased with all of the lovely accommodations we found at Clara's Cottage. We loved the antiques and furniture styles you chose as they nicely accent your turn-of-the-century home. My wife particularly enjoyed reading about the history of Walla Walla from the book in the living room. The bedrooms were just lovely and very comfortable. The house was immaculate which we greatly appreciated and next time we come to Walla Walla, we would definitely choose Clara's Cottage!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Nice place and affordable for first time visit. Would definitly recommend to people going for the first time. Had all the amenities as described, great kitchen. Beautiful flower garden. Clean and maintained, everything was in working order. Great time was had by all, would definitly do again. Check out the Mill Creek Brewery, close and affordable. Also would highly highly recommend the Marc, Vineyard Lounge, try the Kobe Burger, best burger ever had, great staff and very helpful. As for wineries would highly recommend the South Region, Saviah and Zerba, great people and made the trip that much more enjoyable and trying new wines so much easier.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We all had a wonderful stay in Walla Walla. The house was perfect for our needs. We all enjoyed great sleep on the comfortable beds, Even our 6wk old son slept like a log in the crib. We all read the story of Clara's cottage in the binder and are curios to find out what ever happened to Viola after giving birth, The "more to come" nearly drove us crazy!Did you find this review helpful? Hello Cal, We did indeed thoroughly enjoy all the ambiance of Clara's Cottage and already anxiously anticipate an annual return. It is truly one of the the most nicely appointed rentals I have stayed in, and SO comfy and cozy! I slept better than I have in months, and that is hard to do at 8 months pregnant! About the owner: Hi! We are Cal & Rebecca and our little Pomapoo Sasha. We have been married 34 yrs and have 2 grown kids, a boy and girl who are both married now. We have our first grandbaby girl born on St. Patrick's Day 2009 who's name is Liberty! We live in the Seattle, WA area and love being both empty nesters as well as new grandparents! Cal is a teacher/philanthropist and Rebecca is a Critical Care/ER registered nurse. We enjoy traveling all over the world doing orphanage work in Uganda, Peru and Guatemala or just for fun in the sun like Aruba or Mexico. We hope you enjoy your vacation at Clara's cottage! OH and we LOVE wine, especially Walla Walla wines. Our favorites are Saviah and Kiona in the Red Mountain area.
Why the Owner Chose Walla Walla:
We had visited Walla Walla for the first time in April 2006 for a friend's 50th birthday. We stayed in a VRBO vacation home and that's how it all started. We fell in love with Walla Walla, the climate, the community and especially the WINERIES! We wanted a place of our own as well as being able to share this experience with others.
The big maple trees, the historically old homes and the vast acres of vineyards are so relaxing and take you back in time to a peaceful and inviting place to relax.
We named Clara's Cottage after Rebecca's mom who passed away in 1996. Clara loved old Victorian homes, antiques and old trees. We have decorated the home in her taste, using some of her antiques and trinkets. We have also provided guests the 'Legend of Clara's Cottage' which is an intriguing history of Clara's Cottage . . . or what could have been its history.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
As a guest, you will feel like you are back in time by the neighborhood that Clara's Cottage is in. The big park, Pioneer Park, is just 1 block away and is terrific for a stroll in the early morning or evening. Many wineries are within walking distance in the historical downtown area which has some amazing restaurants as well. You can curl up with a book in the living room, looking out at the beautiful gardens of Clara's Cottage or you can enjoy a good game of cards whether it is poker or a family game in the the family room. The best part of staying at Clara's Cottage is it is truly a 'home away from home' where you will want to return time and time again.
