"We all felt like princesses"
Claras Cottage was perfect for our wedding needs. Most of our wedding party was from out of town so it was easily transformed into " wedding central". The bridesmaids all loved the Victorian styled rooms and we all felt like princesses roaming about the upstairs, singing and doing eachothers hair for the rehearsal dinner. After rehearsal dinner, we met at the cottage with friends from all over the state. We had cocktails and it was the perfect setting for visiting. We never watched TV because we were having so much fun! The day of the wedding was so relaxing. The Ron Paul salon met us at the cottage where we were all in our robes (found in the closets at the cottage) . They did our hair and makeup as we sipped on mimosas and ate French pastries from the Colville st. Patisserie. My dad picked me up in a brand new black mustang and took me to meet the groom. The bridal party walked from Claras cottage to pioneer park, where we had our first photo session. It was the perfect location and everyone had such a great time! Thank you very much for allowing us stay at Clara's cottage! Jessica Van Doren ( Bride)

We appreciated the little things
We had a great time at Clara's Cottage and really appreciated the little things I haven't always found in vrbo places - like hand soap and shampoo and conditioner provided. The beds were comfortable, we loved walking to the park and being able to cook meals at "home" while the kids relaxed with a movie. Was a great stay and we had a wonderful time. Thanks again, Christy

We stayed at Clara's Cottage for 5 days for our daughter's graduation and it was simply spectacular. There is nothing missing for a family, group, or couples to have a marvellous holiday. There is so much room, the bedrooms are enormous, the beds are comfy, there are two living areas that can accomodate all situations. Cal has made sure that when you arrive it is like being in your own home, there are towels galore, extra blankets, enough plates and glasses to serve multitudes! The garden is divine, and the outside area a wonderful place to sit and have a glass of wine in the late afternoon. I can't recommend Clara's Cottage enough. You won't regret staying there.

Perfect MemoryGuest comment entered by owner
Hi Calvin, Just wanted to personally acknowledge you and Clara's Cottage for the way it has been presented to provide the perfect memory for our important occasion. We had close friends with us, whom we had not seen for a long time and it really felt like we were taking care of them as if they were visiting our house in Australia. The fact that it also was where a mystery also unfolded makes for an even better story for when we return to Oz. So thanks again for ensuring the house more than provided for all our needs in all areas. Yours sincerely, John Moscovis ??

Great location and beautiful setting
Great location and beautiful setting
We had a wonderful birthday and college graduation weekend at Clara's Cottage. It was an ideal and roomy place for friends and family. We gathered for dinners and cook outs, and hung out in the backyard and on the porch. We also enjoyed using fresh herbs from the garden! The kitchen was well-stocked and the beds were very comfortable after long days.

We would definitely choose Clara's Cottage!Guest comment entered by owner
We would definitely choose Clara's Cottage!
We were very pleased with all of the lovely accommodations we found at Clara's Cottage. We loved the antiques and furniture styles you chose as they nicely accent your turn-of-the-century home. My wife particularly enjoyed reading about the history of Walla Walla from the book in the living room. The bedrooms were just lovely and very comfortable. The house was immaculate which we greatly appreciated and next time we come to Walla Walla, we would definitely choose Clara's Cottage!

Nice place and affordable for first time visit. Would definitly recommend to people going for the first time. Had all the amenities as described, great kitchen. Beautiful flower garden. Clean and maintained, everything was in working order. Great time was had by all, would definitly do again. Check out the Mill Creek Brewery, close and affordable. Also would highly highly recommend the Marc, Vineyard Lounge, try the Kobe Burger, best burger ever had, great staff and very helpful. As for wineries would highly recommend the South Region, Saviah and Zerba, great people and made the trip that much more enjoyable and trying new wines so much easier.

We all had a wonderful stay in Walla Walla. The house was perfect for our needs. We all enjoyed great sleep on the comfortable beds, Even our 6wk old son slept like a log in the crib. We all read the story of Clara's cottage in the binder and are curios to find out what ever happened to Viola after giving birth, The "more to come" nearly drove us crazy!

About the owner: Hi! We are Cal & Rebecca and our little Pomapoo Sasha. We have been married 34 yrs and have 2 grown kids, a boy and girl who are both married now. We have our first grandbaby girl born on St. Patrick's Day 2009 who's name is Liberty! We live in the Seattle, WA area and love being both empty nesters as well as new grandparents! Cal is a teacher/philanthropist and Rebecca is a Critical Care/ER registered nurse. We enjoy traveling all over the world doing orphanage work in Uganda, Peru and Guatemala or just for fun in the sun like Aruba or Mexico. We hope you enjoy your vacation at Clara's cottage! OH and we LOVE wine, especially Walla Walla wines. Our favorites are Saviah and Kiona in the Red Mountain area.
Why the Owner Chose Walla Walla:
We had visited Walla Walla for the first time in April 2006 for a friend's 50th birthday. We stayed in a VRBO vacation home and that's how it all started. We fell in love with Walla Walla, the climate, the community and especially the WINERIES! We wanted a place of our own as well as being able to share this experience with others. The big maple trees, the historically old homes and the vast acres of vineyards are so relaxing and take you back in time to a peaceful and inviting place to relax. We named Clara's Cottage after Rebecca's mom who passed away in 1996. Clara loved old Victorian homes, antiques and old trees. We have decorated the home in her taste, using some of her antiques and trinkets. We have also provided guests the 'Legend of Clara's Cottage' which is an intriguing history of Clara's Cottage . . . or what could have been its history.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
As a guest, you will feel like you are back in time by the neighborhood that Clara's Cottage is in. The big park, Pioneer Park, is just 1 block away and is terrific for a stroll in the early morning or evening. Many wineries are within walking distance in the historical downtown area which has some amazing restaurants as well. You can curl up with a book in the living room, looking out at the beautiful gardens of Clara's Cottage or you can enjoy a good game of cards whether it is poker or a family game in the the family room. The best part of staying at Clara's Cottage is it is truly a 'home away from home' where you will want to return time and time again.
