Just what you’re looking for if you want a fantastic vacation at the Lake! This home has sleeping accommodations for 8-10 people. We privately own and manage it; you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the peacefulness and serenity this home provides. Located on beautiful Lake Bowen in Spartanburg, SC, we are easily accessible from I-26 and conveniently located to Greenville, SC. If that’s not enough, we are only one hour from the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and a little more than one hour from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
For snowbirds looking for a get-away retreat: We have two gas log fireplaces, each of which are next to 8 foot sliding glass doors that overlook the lake. The Spartanburg/Greenville area has many attractions close by; great restaurants, three Malls in less than a 30 minute radius, movie theatres, Sams Club, WalMart only 8 minutes away, Ingles Grocery only 6 minutes away, and many more conveniences.
Our home offers four bedrooms. The Master Suite includes a Queen size bed featuring a PillowTop mattress and 600+ Thread Count sheets. A perfect way to end a fun day on the lake! The 2nd upstairs bedroom also includes a PillowTop mattress and 600+ TC sheets.
The upstairs living area boasts two leather couches to provide comfort while you enjoy your favorite shows on a 32” flat screen TV. The living room also has a gas fireplace for your winter time visits. The kids can enjoy games on the PlayStation2 game system, with a variety of games provided. Or you can pop in a DVD movie (many family oriented movies provided) while you enjoy popcorn and snacks. Bring your laptop, because we provide an Internet connection for your convenience.
Ready to eat? Cooking dinner on our four burner outdoor grill will be a treat! A fully equipped kitchen also allows you to cook almost any meal you desire. While the kitchen is limited in size, the areas for dining are expansive. The front porch provides a 6 person table and chairs; the screened-in side porch provides a 6 person table and chairs; the indoor dining room also provides a 6 person table and chairs. And for your little ones, we even provide a High Chair, along with a booster chair for your toddler.
The downstairs area is one that your kids are sure to love; our game room provides an Air Hockey table and a foosball table. Rainy day? No problem! Spend the day playing Scrabble, Sorry, Monopoly, the Playstation or one of many other games provided. And if someone in the group would rather spend the afternoon with a good book, we have approximately 40 books available for your reading pleasure during your stay. The downstairs living room is my Mom’s favorite room. In addition to being cozy with the gas fireplace, it has a quiet, serene feeling as you sit in the Rocking Chair and gaze at the lake. Actually, my Dad loves to sleep on the couch, while my Mom reads.
Other accommodations downstairs include one bedroom with twin beds, one bedroom with a queen size bed, and a full bath. You can pack lighter because we provide the washer and dryer for your convenience. The downstairs area also includes a mini-kitchen -the kids can store their own drinks and snacks! In addition to all of those sleeping arrangements, we also offer a pack-and-play crib so you don’t have to pack yours.
Our home is No Smoking, and No Pets. We will take reservations for less than one week 21 days out. Minimum 3 night stay. Saturday - Saturday rental preferred during June, July, and August, Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks.
You will love the fun and laughter you enjoy on our dock. You can fish, sunbath, or just let the children jump in the water thousands of times. Children under the age of 12 are required to wear a life vest while enjoying Lake Bowen, so please let us know the ages for your children, and we will make sure appropriate size life vests are available for your use. We also have many water toys available for the children’s use. You are welcome to bring your own boat and jet skis – we have ample space for them at the dock.

Why the Owner Chose Inman
The calm, relaxing, peaceful feeling of this home had us sold before we even viewed the downstairs. Our main goal when purchasing this property was to create more family time with our children and our extended family. It is so close to many fun attractions. When the children were younger, they loved HollyWild. Now, we spend more time at the mall and the $2.50 movie theatre close by :-) When we live there, we are still able drive to Church in Asheville on Sunday morning. We love the neighborhood, and have found our neighbors to be wonderful people.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our main goal in sharing our home is to provide a fun, family-oriented, peaceful place for your enjoyment. You will be able to fish at dusk...or daybreak if you prefer! There are few, if any, rentals available on our beautiful lake, so it is a great place for a getaway if you have family or business close by in Greenville or Asheville. We even have local residents who rent our home for a week just to 'get away from it all' while remaining in their hometown. We are conveniently located 5 minutes from I-26.

A perfect vacation was enjoyed by all! Early morning breakfast on the lakeside porch most mornings and weather permiting, beautiful sunsets and then late dinners were enjoyed there as well. The home is very clean and neat and very well suited for a family vacation at the lake. Owners Kathy and Dan were Johnnny-On-The-Spot with any call/text/request we had. Had 9 gymnasts stay in this house with a coach chaperon for a week and what an amazing experience! Loved that you are right on the lake and the girls spend afternoons flipping off the dock after gymnastics camp! House was a perfect set up for having kids with you and was so peaceful! What a wonderful experience and perfect home! Kathy was wonderful! Thanks for a great trip!

We enjoyed having so much space, the beautiful view and all the homey extras which saved us a number of trips to the store. It is so relaxing to walk along the lake, sun on the dock and swings, grill and generally enjoy each others' company (even if I did loose at the games). Everyone was so friendly and helpful with our special thanks to the "ticket fairy"!

The house really felt like a home .... Relaxing and so Clean. We came here to attend our family reunion at a home at the other end of the lake - of course there is never enough room for everyone...(Italian family) your home made our trip so much more enjoyable not having to stay in a hotel room. Everything was there - usually with most rental homes you have to bring all the essentials with you. We would definitely stay there again.

We loved every minute of our stay in this home. The floor plan is perfect for children and adults, with two bedrooms, a living area, and playroom downstairs so the kids could stretch out and be noisy, while the adults could enjoy peace and quiet in their accommodations upstairs. The house is clean, neat, and comfortable, and it came furnished with everything we needed (including a large gas grill). We were a little concerned that there would be constant boat/jet ski traffic since the lake is a very popular recreation spot, but the house is located on a quiet finger of the lake that doesn't attract speeding watercraft. Plus, because it's mostly residential, there was very little activity on the water near the house during the weekdays. The quiet was soothing, and the views of the lake and rolling country around it were lovely. My father got up early every day to fish from the dock, and later in the morning, the whole family came down to play in the clean, calm water. There are restaurants and grocery stores just a mile or two away, which was very convenient, and Spartanburg malls/dining/entertainment are only 10 minutes from the house via I-26. On the lake, however, we felt miles away from the real world. It was heavenly. We feel like we've discovered a hidden gem, and are definitely booking again for next year.

This is a wonderful getaway spot! The house is so comfortable, plenty of room to spread out and relax and loaded with amenities. The house was spotless and in great condition. The owners were great to work with and so accommodating. Our first trip was in the winter and even though it was chilly, we bundled up and enjoyed beautiful sunsets on the dock, as well as cozy fires in the fireplaces. We loved it so much we came back this spring! The only drawback...we couldn't stay longer! Will definitely come back again!
