This newly-built, 1800 Sq. ft. home on beautiful Hood Canal is perfect for a romantic get-away or a family outing (including well-behaved pets). We are located 1 mile from a secluded private beach, on a quiet dead-end street in the Bridgehaven neighborhood. The house is furnished with fine furniture imported from Cape Cod, and includes a full kitchen (owner enjoys cooking gourmet meals when the house isn’t rented), gas grill, hammock, and beach chairs.
If you haven’t been to the Hood Canal yet, this is your chance to stay at the perfect jumping-off point! We are located only 20 minutes from the Kingston Ferry dock, or 45 Minutes from the Bainbridge Ferry.
Our house backs up against the gorgeous Olympic mountains, with nearby trails, and many outdoor recreational activities. Rent sea kayaks in Port Townsend, golf at nearby Port Ludlow Golf Club, Uncover history at the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum, Enjoy Whale Watching Tours by Captain Jack's Sea Charters, go climb a peak on Hurricane ridge, or soak in Olympic hot springs – all within an 45 minutes of the house. If you have a boat, there are several public launch ramps nearby, and excellent fishing, crabbing, and clamming on the beach (in season).
Speaking of the beach, it is a 5-minute drive down the hill, with a ¾ mile sand spit that extends out into the canal – perfect for a long walk or family beach day. It even has a shallow side for little bathers!
The house is a 2-story home with a long front porch, 2 large bedrooms upstairs, and a smaller bedroom downstairs. We have a shower downstairs and full bath upstairs, and an open floor plan in the living room with a bar, dining room table, and fireplace. This is our dream vacation home, and we’d love to share it with you!

Beautiful 3 BR Home on Hood Canal - 1 Mile from Private Beach
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Port Ludlow
Our friends and neighbors who live here told us about it - and we fell in love with the area. We can get there in 1 hour and 45 mins from the Eastside, which makes it a quick trip. It also is one of the few places that includes a marina and private beach.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Fishing, crabbing, shrimping, clamming, oystering, hiking, beachcombing, kayaking, and relaxing in our hammock.
3/4 mile long sandy spit reaches out into Hood canal. Lots of shells, sand dollars, and fresh air!
Seven sisters beach (part of Wolfe property state park) has oysters, clams, and lots of migratory birds.
Trails accessible from either Quilcene forest service roads or Hurricane Ridge.
Owner's Map of Port Ludlow
I am an outdoor enthusiast who bought this home so my family and I could enjoy the peace & quiet of the canal and be closer to the remote wilderness of the Olympic Peninsula.

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. The house and backyard were both perfect for my husband and I and our larger pooches. The house definitely makes you feel at a home away from home with plenty of room yet still a very cozy feel. The private beach was amazing, even towards the end of December. The renters were superb at communicating and a pleasure to rent from. Would definitely recommend this rental home.

We stayed here for a few nights while moving from our home not far up the road, so we didn't really come for a 'vacation'. But I can say that the pictures don't do the house justice - it is very well laid out with up-to-date decor. Lots of room and, important to us with two big dogs, a securely fenced back yard. The clean air, huge surrounding trees, and quiet made us feel like we were camping, although with all the amenities. Tom was terrific with quick responses and clearly made an effort to ensure everything went smoothly. A good VRBO find.

We found this vacation spot clean and neat and everything the owner advertized! It was perfect for our stay. We were traveling each day so did not get to the beach, but hope to come back when we can stay longer and enjoy the surroundings. Thanks for a very nice time!

Tom was very quick in replying to e-mails & gave us detailed information. We were pleasantly surprised at the quiet neighborhood. The house was very clean and kitchen was stocked with some basics. Our dog enjoyed the fenced back yard. This would be a great rental for a group of people as it's quite spacious. I would recommend this place & would consider returning to it again in the future!

Just returned from a 3 night family gathering. There were 3 couples and an infant. Everyone was very comfortable. We brought a porta-crib, and set it up in the downstairs bedroom. Roomy, open, functional kitchen. The owner contacted us during out stay to make sure everything was in order. We didn't explore very much, as we were driving back and forth to other family on Marrowstone Island each day. But the area is beautiful, and Port Ludlow is well situated. Everything worked... just an easy, casual spot to spend time with the family. Highly recommended.

I rented this vacation home for my 2 daughter's and myself, for our 2nd annual girl's getaway. We were so pleased, as we walked in the front door finding the house clean, nicely furnished and offering us the room arrangements for not only us, but my mother who joined us as well. She had her own private bathroom downstairs adjacent to her bedroom, and the girls and I shared the bathroom between the 2 peaceful bedrooms upstairs. We loved the gas fireplace, the den/living/kitchen combo which provided us hours of together time while we cooked, painted, played games, ate and otherwise enjoyed each others company. Tom was a pleasure to work with, and made our stay very comfortable. Thanks so much!

We spent Christmas week 2009 here. What an absolutely wonderful time. Christmas day was so clear that it seemed you could see forever. The house is great! The beds were very comfortable and the fireplace offered a nice spot to relax in front of after touring on those cold days. Don't trust your GPS as it showed the house at the corner! It's actually up the street a few houses on the left! We intend on returning for a summer visit to enjoy more of the outdoor activities. Our thanks to Tom for keeping the house well maintained and stocked!

OMG we had a fantastic time at your home. I can assure anyone interested that your house has everything needed plus more to enjoy a special get-away. The fireplace was an extra bonus in my opinion. You can do so many things outside and enjoy nature or nothing at all and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We especially enjoyed clamming at your beach/sand spit and all the fresh seafood/fish available by catch or purchase, plus having all the tools in your kitchen to make gourmet meals. I especially enjoyed the fact that everything was in a days driving distance to get to. I will recommend your house to everyone I can!!!

A comfortable, well stocked and nicely appointed "home, away from home". Nice quiet neighborhood not too far from the Hood Canal Bridge, making it "convenient" for trips to Poulsbo, Port Ludlow, Port Hadlock and Port Townsend.

Beautiful, well maintain home, highly recommend. Easy access to area towns. We stayed to attend a wedding in Port Gamble, but wanted to stay together as a family, 2 went backpacking in the Olympics and 3 had been biking and camping, they all joined my husband and me. Spent time on the beach, exploring tide pools, be sure to check the tides.
