This property is simply amazing, inside and outside. Thoughtfully, tastefully decorated. Comfortable, personal touches throughout. Amazing fun for kids all over the place-- foosball, ping pong, swing from the trees on the beach, floating dock with a slide, the climbing net took it completely over the top, to ELEVEN. :) The area itself is very quiet and beautiful. We have never been there and felt like we were in the Gulf Islands 90 minutes from Seattle. Simply magical. Oh and a hot tub. And movies. Really outstanding, and we are very picky as rental owners ourselves. I rarely get new ideas from another cabin and this one inspired me. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!
My husband and I and our three furry kids traveled from Montana to visit the lovely hideaway. We had and absolutely spectacular time! The area is wonderful...quite, peaceful, and completely beautiful! The rainforest beauty is very different from our gorgeous Montana beauty....we fell in love with it! The hideaway is magnificent and incredibly comfortable. It was perfect! I highly recommend it! We loved the decks and the walkways down to the beach area! The hideaway was decorated beautifully (rustic, and very comfortable)! Martha is wonderful! We truly loved it! It was a long trip for us but we would love to do it again!

Our family group of 10 stayed at this home in August and had a great time. Overall, it was a great rental, in a very nice location with lots to do. There were many positives to this rental, however, I can't give the rental five stars for a few of reasons. First, while we paid extra to rent two kayaks, we found that two of the three available were not in good shape. Both were missing seat backs, making paddling for any length of time uncomfortable. My nephew took off his life jacket to lean on because two screws were digging into his back where the seat back had once been attached. For what we paid to rent them, I would expect them to be in good working condition with no missing parts. I was surprised at how steep the trail to the water was. Anyone with mobility issues may not be able to go down to the water. Also, there is some kind of oyster operation (a big boat and many barges) going on in the bay. It wasn't noisy or anything, but kind of detracted from the look of the bay (the boat and barges are NOT visible from the house). The house was nicely decorated and functioned very well for our group of ten and the beds all seemed comfortable. However, there is very little seating in the living room - not enough for all of us to sit down together. So our group was forced to kind of separate - some inside in the living room and some on the deck. More seating would make this home even better for large groups. Overall, we loved the house, the location, and the water, and we all had a very good time visiting this area for the first time. We even went to the waterfall suggested by the owner and spent a few fun hours there. This is a place I would return to!
As we zig zagged our way down a very steep and bumpy gravel driveway, I started to worry that this might not be such a great place after all. But-- it was worth it. The driveway definitely is steep and going up is a bit of a problem...make sure you are not driving a low rider!
The ropes course is GREAT! We jumped on it before entering the house. The pictures do not do it justice, and we had hours of fun on it. Next we headed down to the water....again, it is a very steep down hill trail...but it is very well maintained. At the bottom, the docks are chained up-so you can't really swim out to the docks. You can't even push them off shore. You can swing out over the water ( on the rope swing) and the kids loved that part. The water is very shallow and so it is warm enough to swim. Life jackets are provided--so no worries. We dug clams and had them for dinner and the oyster beds are everywhere. It is difficult to walk across the oyster beds when the tide is out--so wear good soled shoes.
Now to the inside of the home. It is laid out very nicely--plenty of room for everyone. The bedrooms are decorated nicely and there is ample bathroom space. Speaking of bathrooms-- they were very very clean! I wish the rest of the house was as clean. The dishwasher doesn't seem to get the dishes clean-- we had several plates, glasses and pans come out of the cupboards with food residue on them. And the utensil drawers could stand a good cleaning-- it's gross to see food crumbs and dried food in the drawers. For the extra cleaning fee that is included when you reserve the place, I feel we left it cleaner than when we arrived (my husband climbed up and cleaned at least a year's worth of dust off the ceiling fan). The hot tub was perfect and clean! All in all, I would recommend this property for a large family get together-- there is something for everyone. Make sure you bring everything you need-- it is a bit of a drive to Pt. Townsend and the little market in Quilcene has a limited supply of groceries.
A month later we went to another vacation rental resort in Leavenworth--and I kept refelcting on the great time we had at Quilcene Bay. It was quiet and the scenery and nature (trails, sea lions, bald eagles) were spectacular.
I would recommend it!
Just returned from the Quilcene Bay Hideway and it was an amazing experience! We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoors and all the nature that surrounds your property. Our grandchildren enjoyed seeing the seals, crabs, and starfish! We also gave the rope system a try...what a blast! Indoors, we had fun playing all the games that your house offered & the kids liked the wide assortment of DVD's. Thanks again for your hospitality!
We booked this beautiful home for my daughter's 23rd birthday. We live in Western Washington but had never been to the Quilcene Bay area. There were five of us, my husband, self, daughter, niece and her husband and we stayed two nights in May 2012.
Upon arrival, we were all taken back by the beauty of the property and the gorgeous 3 story cabin. The home is gorgeous, confortable and everything we read about and more. The master bedroom on the top floor would be a great place to watch a storm and stay cozy :0). The main floor is perfect for a group with the back deck stretching across the entire home and facing the beautiful wood hillside to the private beach. The path to the beach was, for me, as beautiful as the beach itself. and oh....don't forget the hot tub in the front. It sits right under an old growth maple so the view up, is fantastic!
This place is private, relaxing and had everything we needed to enjoy our long weekend.
The owners were fantastic to work with as we planned for the date and have a ton of local tribal knowledge that they share generously.
Our guests were forever grateful for the experience and from our first step onto the property began telling us that they were definitely, coming back.
Highly recommended for a beautiful and quiet get away. I suspect, we will be back :0)
