We were lucky to celebrate Christmas and London and even luckier to find this flat. It truly is 1/2 block from the tube and an easy walk to Hyde Park and shopping. Maria priced it all-inclusive (linens, housekeeping, etc.) so there was no surprises. We enjoyed its airy feel with skylights and appreciated its cleanliness--perfect for our family of 6 (four children ages 16-24). Having a single bathroom concerned me at first, but we handled that with ease and loved having this place as our home for 9 nights. Maria was a pleasure to work with despite credit card issues (note: the charge uses a business name, not Maria's). She provided many suggestions and brochures to help us navigate our days as well as stocking a variety of teas to keep us going. Grocery was close by which helped on Christmas Day. She even provided some extra umbrellas in the front hall. When staying somewhere more than a week, the details of the place become more important. Here, this flat was perfect for us. I would encourage others to consider it regardless if a short or a longer one! Thank you for making our trip terrific. Thanks to Orlando who let us in early in the morning (none of this waiting for afternoon check-in times!). We love VRBO!

My 70 year old parents and I stayed here a week in early November 2011. The whole process was very easy. The place was just as described. The neighborhood has many places to eat and shop and the bus, tube and train station for Paddington is just a few steps away. We felt very safe, the water was hot, the place was clean. Lots of room in the living area downstairs, our bedrooms were upstairs. Sometimes we heard street noise, but it did not keep us awake. There were homeless people occassionally on the streets outside, but we were never bothered by them and there was police presence as well. Keep in mind the District and Central tube lines are down on the week-ends until the Olympics (I was told) for upgrade. Those two lines are the ones you take to most tourist attractions. The buses are numerous and efficient, but time consuming if you are on a tight schedule. So in a nutshell, clean, safe, warm, dry, and like the rest of London, lots of stairs.

Me & my friend booked this place & stayed for four nights but wished it was longer. The facilities are in great working condition. Their helper, Maria was great as well. The Paddington tube is nearby, lots of buses ply along this road, a tourist booking centre along the stretch & lots of food places to go to depending on your budget. There were lots of Halal food as well in this vicinity. I would highly recommend this place. The security is great as well. The only downside is the stairs but Maria did help with our heavy luggages. It's about 2-3 flights up. Only downside, wasthe flight os stairs cos we need to carry our heavy luggage but Maria did help us out.

Two friends and I stayed here for a week. The location with 4 tube lines is unbeatable plus access to the train station. The stairs were not a problem for us at all (except taking the luggage up and down but that is a one time thing). The place was spotless and had everything one would need (except WIFI). The two double bedrooms are quite large with lots of cupboard space. The linens and pillows were excellent. We had a few warm days and it did get a bit warm at night being upstairs. (We did not require the master bedroom on the main floor and never saw it). I also wish there had been a couple of folding chairs so we could have sat out on the small balcony as it is quite nice. I was worried about noise but it was very quiet. The apartment is very nice and bright - it certainly exceeded my expectations and turned out to be our favourite place in our 4 city/country travels. I have already highly recommended it to several friends who frequent London regularly.

We were a party of two families - 4 children and 2 adults staying for 2 weeks and we could not have had a more enjoyable stay. The apartment was basic but very clean, neat and well equipped - exactly as it was advertised, including washing machine and dryer which is very helpful when travelling with children! The children had a fantastically large room to sleep and play! Both Marias could not have been more helpful, honest or easy to deal with. The location was perfect for buses, tube, overland train - only 1 minute from Paddington station, or for sightseeing on foot. Plenty of restaurants, pubs, supermarkets for all your needs. Completely secure and no noise whatsoever due to double glazed windowsm, even though Praed street very busy. There were a number of stairs to climb however this did not bother us at all, and we were able to leave our prams down in the secure entrance hall so did not have to carry these up the stairs. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely stay there again when we next visit London.
Owner response:There is absolutely no truth to the statement about the District & Central tube lines being closed EVERY weekend until the Olympics. Please be assured that the closures are only very intermittent and do not extend to the whole route. To check dates of when & which tube lines are effected please go to the Transport for London website (which I am not allowed to list here!) Cheers, Maria

We really enjoyed our stay in your maisonette, it was perfect for my two older teens and myself. We each had our own room, the beds were comfortable, the bath lovely, and we enjoyed several home-cooked meals. The supermarket is just down the street and there is easy access to several transportation choices: rail, tube and bus, so with our Travelcards we were anywhere in London in about 15 minutes, so we didn't need a car at all. Also, we had friends from Devon, Bedford and Edinburgh come and meet us, which was very easy given the transport proximity. Hyde Park for a bit of green is only five minutes on foot, and the array of restaurants in the neighbourhood excellent and affordable. The place was clean, comfortable and had great natural light. I recommend it highly.

Just returned from our first London visit. Traveled with wife and three children, ages 12,14 & 15. Great location, clean, with all the comforts of home and plenty of hot water. Owners were helpful and friendly and building is very secure. I would recommend this location to anyone that doesn't mind a few stairs to climb. Spot on!

My husband and I have just returned form 4 days in Maria's apartment in London. And a wonderful time we had. Maria's apartment is located in a very central part of Paddington, infact you could look out the front door and see the entrance to the station about 200 metres down the road. This in itself was good enough reason to stay here. It was so easy to connect to the Heathrow Connect (the less expensive train to Heathrow) or the Heathrow Express and the underground.. And buses were also very close by. Also surrounding the apartment were bakeries, pubs, groceries stores, take-away food and a Marks and Spencer not far. The area is busy and vibrant. The process with Maria was easy and she answered all our enquiries promptly. Now for the apartment. We were very happy with what we found - it's not luxurious but it is very comfortable and extremely clean. The linen was good and plenty of extra towels and it was comfortable heated.. The unit is equipped with just about every cooking utensil possible and ample crockery and glassware. Having access to the washing machine and dryer is a big plus. The bedrooms were large and nicely furnished and even though it is opposite the hospital we were not bothered with noise. There are quite a few stairs up to the unit, we are in our mid fifties, and it did not bother us, and we found we only did it a couple of times a day. The only thing we could not operate very well was the TV not sure if the aerial was working very well - maybe simple instructions would help, but we really did not use it much as rarely home. So thanks again Maria, we had a lovely time and would recommend your apartment to friends.
Owner response:Since this couple stayed with us we have installed a new aerial and now the TV works perfectly.

Me and my 4 year old daughter spent 5 wonderful nights/ 6 days in this very lovely place. This cosy place has everything one need to feel home and comfortable. The place is very well equipped, including washing maschine etc. The location is perfect to go around in London. The bus stop is directly in front of the house, no need to take the underground "Paddington- Station" . The plenty busses goes directly to the main areas in all directions(Oxford Street, Picadilly, Kensington etc.). Walking distance to Hyde Park, and also Marble Arch area. Lots of pubs, food places etc. around. The landlords are very very nice:-) Definetly we will come back! Its a very recomandable place to stay, and for my opinion one of the best you can find in London and also for a very reasonable rate! Bottom line: we loved this place (and also our stay in London)

Very convenient, clean, everything provided. Close to transport and owners very pleasant to deal with. We were 4 adults and the only problem we had was with the hot water - it seemed to run out after 2 showers, and that got worse when the flat beside us was occupied on the weekend. Other than that everything we needed was there.
Owner response:We have taken care of the hot water issue and do not expect there to be any more problems in this area henceforth.
