"The Lakehouse" is centrally located on beautiful Lake Sutherland. It is only a few miles from Lake Crescent and 14 miles west of Port Angeles. It is located within the private gated community of Maple Grove. The Lakehouse sets off from Lake Sutherland and has the best view of the mountains and lake and has no immediate neighbors. The Lakehouse is a great place with all the beauty of Lake Sutherland, its views, and all that it and the surrounding areas have to offer. It is centrally located to everything in the Pacific Northwest - Olympic National Park, Sol Duc Hot springs, the Elwa River and rafting, the beautiful Straight of Juan De Fuca and Vancouver Island, Salt Creek State Park, the Pacific coast and amazing coastline, Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park, along with the recent Forks-LaPush and the "Twilight" scenes.
The Lakehouse is beautifully furnished and has everything you could possibly want for a vacation get-away. Sit on the outside deck ground level or on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful mountain in front of you. Enjoy the private hot-tub on the balcony or watch a movie in the bonus room.
If you are in to water sports, bring your boat or other water craft and explore the lake. The Lakehouse has its own boat slip and plenty of space to park the trailer behind the house or next to the launch area. If you enjoy fishing, Lake Sutherland is stocked year round. Since Lake Sutherland is a spring fed lake, it is warmer than neighboring Lake Crescent and offers plenty of swimming.

We had a wonderful week on Lake Sutherland! The house was so nice we hardly wanted to leave to explore. It was clean, well equipped and easy to find. The listing and photos accurately described the property (it actually felt much larger than described). We rented a standup paddle board and enjoyed the lake. Evenings were spent in the hottub watching the meteor showers. This is a perfect location for exploring the Olympic Peninsula.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I stayed here with 3 close friends (a double date weekend), and it was just perfect. a 2 minute walk down to the water, nice, very clean and clutter-free house and even a grill (we made veggie dogs lol) The hot tub was perfect size for the four of us, and great TV's all over the house. The location is breathtaking and fresh air away from the city. The owner would write back immediately and very friendly in answering any questions, and they had everything in the house like towels, a small upstairs fridge, and even toothbrushes to make you feel welcome. All in all, a 100% positive experience, I wouldn't critique any part of the experience, only to say we stayed 2 nights and wished we had reserved a whole week.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Great location that is quiet and close enough to all the NW has to offer. Mountain and lake views out the window. Trails, rivers, strait of juan de fuca, lakes, fishing, crabbing, hot springs, water falls and lots more every where you look. Home is comfortable, well furnished and clean. The owner was a great person to deal with and answered all my questions promptly. Just bring your food and clothes and enjoy this nice retreat in the beautiful northwest.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The Lakehouse is beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for a great get-away. Soaking in the hot tub watching the stars was breathtaking. The location is convenient to Port Angeles and many fun outdoor activities, but secluded enough to be peaceful and relaxing. We especially enjoyed hiking the Spruce Railroad Trail and going to the Farmer's Market in Port Angeles. We will definitely be renting again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We bought "The Lakehouse" after numerous visits to Lake Crescent and the many surrounding areas. The Pacific Northwest offers some of our most favorite places to visit with our children. We have 4 children and love taking them to the outdoors. Believe it or not, our children begged us to get a place up in the mountains where they could enjoys the outdoors and the magnificent beauty they have come to appreciate in surrounding areas. Their favorite places have been the Pacific beaches, hiking around the Olympics, the hot springs, and playing at the lake.
Why the Owner Chose Port Angeles:
Lake Sutherland is an amazing spring fed lake. It is similar to its neighboring lake (Lake Crescent) in the national park system. Lake Sutherland offers all of the lake recreational activities along with the beauty, privacy, and quiet serenity that the Olympics have to offer. It is centrally located to everything in the farthest corner of the Pacific Northwest. The Lakehouse at Lake Sutherland truly is a gem on the lake and we are lucky to have come across it.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The mornings and evenings on Lake Sutherland are amazing. I simply enjoy sitting on the deck and enjoying the mountain in front of me. The fall colors on the mountain, the snow capped trees, and the occasional mystical fog is breathtaking.
