Acqua Blu is more than a rental home. It's been called a mansion.
You have over 5900 covered, luxurious and infinitely private square feet on 1 acre of land. The compound includes 9 porches and balconies, a 38' x 12' pool (10 feet deep at one end, for real swimming, not just wading), a library in case you need work space (or a good book), separate media room (so the kids can blast their music and not bother you), separate laundry and breakfast area and stocked wine cellar.
The house has a 22 x 38 foot Great Room, with 24 foot ceilings and my 1923 Steinway Grand piano (the only piano on island in a rental home). The dining table is hand carved and easily seats 12. The kitchen is my dream kitchen: both a gas and electric oven, farmhouse sink, salad sink, a Fisher Paykell dishwasher just for glasses, and a Miele dishwasher for all the rest. We have a Jennair icemaker (that's in addition to the icemaker in the 42" Monogram fridge) and a built in Viking wine cooler.
You'll need the wine cooler because we have just opened up the Acqua Blu Cellar where you can find the boutique wines from Italy and France that we import. (My family is from Tuscany, so you'll find that area highlighted, since I can get wines the Italians don't like to let leave the country).
Acqua Blu has 4 bedrooms, all featuring king beds(with plush pillow top mattresses) and en suite baths with unique hand cast concrete counters. The Garden Room which has a hand made mahogany counter. There are two half bathes, one up and one down so you don't have to travel far if you're in the wet swim suit by the pool.
The villa offers Incredible 270 degree views and the sound of the gently lapping Caribbean Sea in each and every space. We have 12 split unit air conditioners for all the sleeping areas and library, media room and the most fabulously reliable breezes on island.
Acqua Blu is a rare, elegant find, because it was a home built for a family and their friends, and you'll get that intimate yet private feel the minute you enter.

Why the Owner Chose Boatman Point
The is the second home we built on St. John, so we learned a lot from experiment number one. We could have bought anywhere: beachfront, mountain top, rainforest, East End, Coral Bay or in town. We spent 3 years selecting this lot.
Primarily it was the breezes and perfect views that sold us on the location: never muggy, never buggy, never hot we catch the Tradewinds year round. Postioned close enough to the sea and high enough to catch the winds, those locations on the ocean suffered from 5 PM no-see-ums, mosquitoes and the loud sound of the sea that can overpower the magical sounds of the coki tree frogs singing in the night. Blu has been strategically positioned to avoid all those pitfalls.
There is a night time view of the twinkling lights of St. Thomas and the morning view of sunrise over the Caribbean Sea and Rams Head.
We are at the end of a private, concrete road with quick access to town and the North Shore beaches. 3 minutes to groceries, and 5 to restaurants and Cruz Bay 'night life'!
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
Acqua Blu is part of the Boatman Point Association with its own rubble beach reserved for owners and their guests (that would be you). Hart Bay is a 5 minute walking trail away. As part of a private association, it is accessible only via one well maintained concrete road.

Dale has been coming to the Virgin Islands since the days of the first Pan Am service in the 1960's. Back then you needed a machete to cut your way through to the North Shore Beaches. It was quite an adventure. Janet has been coming to St. John since the early eighties, and though the North Shore Road was not overgrown, getting there was still a jeep adventure--if you could manage to rent one of the eight available jeeps on island. Now St. John has grown up, but it is still pristine since 3/4 of the island is US National Park. We built our first house on Gifft Hill in 1989. We are both entrepreneurs coming from technical plastics backgrounds, and are now retired and bent on traveling--so we decided to open up our home to the rental market. We have a cottage down the road, which we can lock up when Tuscany or somewhere exotic calls. I'll never forget the first time I saw the Caribbean, or the first time I went snorkeling down here: Jacque Cousteau wasn't lying! If anything, it is more beautiful than any documentary on Coral Reefs. I envy all of you your first time experiencing the magic of St. John. You'll remember the moment all your life.
