  This ia an amazing place to stay. This place offers all the ammenties and more. Beautiful rooms and views! The kitchen is open and spacious! It is everything we wanted on our vacation. Since one of the couples was on their honeymoon, I wanted a gift basket there for their arrival, and sure enough Heidi did an excellent job! She went out of her way to make sure that the basket had everything I wanted and more! This is a place I would highly recommend! Can't wait to get back to the island life, oh and the painkillers!

  My family of 10 (6 Adults & 4 Children) had a wonderful vacation at Riley's Retreat. Heidi and Tim could not have been more accomodating and helpful. The house, grounds, pool and location could not have been better. If I only had the money to buy this beautiful home.

  We stayed at the height of the busy season and only have wonderful things to say about St. John and Riley's Retreat. The house was extremely convenient to what a visitor needs: the drive to the Starfish supermarket is 5 minutes; the drive to the ferry and the town is 5-6 minutes; the drive to Cinnamon Bay is about 10-12 minutes. We used all 5 bedrooms and the fact that the downstairs was separate from the upstairs was ideal for us. The house was exactly as pictured and described in the advertisement. Heidi was a terrific host. She met us at the ferry, took us to our car rental and then gave us a detailed tour of the home. Whenever we had a question or problem, we emailed her and got a response within an hour or so. When we left, she held our luggage while we had lunch in town and dropped our bags off at the ferry when we were ready to leave. She did everything she could to accomodate us. The views from the terraces are fantastic and we bar-b-q'd several times for lunch and ate on the terrace overlooking the harbor, st thomas and puerto rico in the distance. The pool/hot tub were great and we used the gym equipment on the pool level as well. We also made use of the outdoor shower. Heidi knew we had 2 small children and went out and provided a portable crib, as well as many beach toys for them. She also provided snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. With my wife, 2 children, 2 sets of grandparents and an uncle at the house, Riley's Retreat helped make our vacation full of terrific memories for many years to come. We would certainly return to Riley's Retreat.

  My favorite thing about this house was the convenient location. I also enjoyed the beautiful balcony/patio & views My least favorite thing about the house was the distance between the pool area (on the lowest level) & the main living area & kitchen (2 stories up). It was great to have a pool table. We spent every day at the beach or on a boat so at night we actually used the pool table a lot more than the pool.

  My family and I stayed at Riley's Retreat from November 21-27. We rented both levels of the villa as my parents and sister and her family as well as my fiance' and my kiddos all traveled to St. John for my wedding on November 25th. The villa was perfect for our family...far enough from the hustle and bustle of the main part of Cruz Bay but close enough that running to the store, to get a bite to eat, or to the beach wasn't a huge ordeal. We loved the privacy the villa afforded us. The views in the morning/evening were amazing. The kids loved the pool. It was nice to be able to prepare meals at "home" since we had small children with us. All in all, our experience was a great one. *FYI - beware of the sandflies (aka: no-see-ums)...I highly recommend bug spray if you plan to be out early morning/evening. And the Starfish Market is amazing!

  Just returned from a most unusual and perfect stay at Riley's Retreat. The view is wonderful and the owners are totally into helping you enjoy your vacation. Definitely we will be returning to this secret and special hideaway.,

  My wife and I just returned from our first trip to St. John. We went for a week to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. We didn't know much about the island or where to stay other than what our Internet research told us. We couldn't have found a more perfect villa or a more perfect location than Riley's Retreat. The villa is less than five minutes up Centerline Road from Cruz Bay, which made getting into town and out to the North Shore beaches incredibly easy. But it was also far enough away that we didn't see or hear the town at all when we sat out on the balcony or by the pool. The views to the south and west, especially from up on the main floor balcony, were spectacular (sunsets took our breath away)! The villa itself was gorgeous and very well maintained. It was perfectly appointed with everything we needed for a completely relaxing stay. It is also very spacious, and although it was just the two of us on this trip we felt the villa would easily accommodate 10 people without feeling crowded. WiFi in the house gave us Internet access to do "island research" during our stay. The pool table made for great entertainment after returning from evenings of dinner and "wandering" in Cruz Bay. The pool and hot tub were very comfortable and private, and we enjoyed both! The washer and dryer downstairs were great. There is a large flat screen TV in the living room (and they have an enormous DVD collection!), but we didn't spend any of our days watching TV. The villa's owner, Heidi, was lovely. Very easy to work with, and ready to answer every question we asked about the house and the island before and during our stay. I had friends and family secretly send birthday cards to the villa ahead of time as a surprise for my wife. Heidi was a great "conspirator" with this, and made sure the cards were gathered, held and delivered right on my wife's birthday! The caretaker for the villa lives in the cottage next door; but he met us at the St. John ferry when we came over from St. Thomas, took us to the house and gave the "tour" of it, and then disappeared for the rest of the week. He was available by phone the one time we needed him, but other that that we had complete privacy. We definitely recommend Riley's Retreat to anyone who will be vacationing on St. John. We can't wait to get back!

  I enjoyed a wonderful experience while staying at this fantastic retreat. Open air living with wonderful privacy. The owners bent over backward to answer my questions and made my stay very pleasant. The beaches, snorkeling and SCUBA Diving are fantastic and there are many restaurants with wonderful food and atmosphere. I will be back!!
