We stayed at Ranchero House for a week-end with some friends. Everything was perfectly clean and well furnished. The neighborhood is pretty quiet and it is great if you need to have some sleep! The quality is very high for the low price. We appreciated the notes and gifts too. I would definitely rent again this house. Thanks a lot!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway.

We had a great time during our stay and we even had a treat on arrival with some wine and snacks. The house is gorgeous and well decorated. Great patio area. Only thing is it is away from downtown, so you will need a car.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was the perfect house for our family's getaway to the Santa Cruz area. The location was great--easy drives to beaches, downtown, and all the local attractions. The house itself was gorgeous, and looks brand new. The neighborhood was just what we were looking for: quiet, but close to everything. A few things made this place perfect for our family. First, the kitchen was fully outfitted for cooking, so we could stay in and relax some nights. Second, there is an awesome park literally out the back door, with a running track and huge playground. Great for joggers and folks traveling with kids (we are both). Loved this place, and can't wait for our next visit!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

This property is the perfect home base for enjoying the amazing gamut of scenery and activities in the Santa Cruz area. Head in one direction for five minutes you're at Capitola Beach; head in the other and you're touring the vinyards and forests of the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains. The home itself is located in a safe, quiet residential community that's a 10 minute walk from downtown Soquel, where there are several quality restaurants and shops. The property also borders a large athletic field and jogging track and is 50 yards from an excellent public park. The home has been completely renovated very recently. It's very comfortable and, for a vacation rental, uncharacteristically stylish. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The living areas and bedrooms are spacious and comfortable (and include several flat-screen TVs, a zillion cable channels and a well stocked video library). There's also a new, large back deck and a gas grill--perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The owner was also a pleasure to deal with--very straightforward and down to earth. I'd recommend this property without reservation.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Wow! 5 Stars. Thank you so much. A big thank you to my family for all their hard work to get Ranchero House complete. This was a true team effort. Please keep us in mind for your next stay as there is so much more to see along the Central Coast and many hours of relaxing at YOUR new vacation get-a-way. We are here and ready! Gloria Ann

This house was amazing. They had instructions posted everywhere giving you pointers and tips on where everything is located. Never felt lost in the home. TONS of floor and bed space! There is a great DVD collection and a giant TV for some real bonding time. The kitchen was super well-kept and plenty of supplies for us to use! The neighborhood is even better! Very quiet and safe! I absolutely love this house and would love to come back next year. They are right, it is very close to everything including the beaches and grocery stores at a very inexpensive price!.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am humbled by your words. Thank you and please come back! Gloria Ann

Gloria Ann's Ranchero House truly appears brand new despite being built in the 60's. This is obvious due to the extensive remodel job completed by the owner over the last year. It is so close to Capitola and Santa Cruz, yet nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The rear yard area is very relaxing and overlooks a park. The kitchen and greatroom are comfortable gathering areas. The bedrooms are quiet, separate retreat spaces. The owner has paid attention to special details and comfort for guests. The house has so much natural light in addition to finer amenities that make it the perfect vacation home. Don't forget to check out The Farm (located near the community college) for fresh bakery goods and Gayles Cafe (down Bay street) for lunch! When in Capitola, the beach is the best mid morning, and early evening. The Boardwalk in Santa Cruz is a short drive! We enjoyed our stay and plan to return again soon!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for the review...happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay.

Owner info
About the owner: I'm Gloria Ann, raised just one mile North of Ranchero House, in the 1950s when the rolling hills of Soquel were all dairies, orchards and farmland. My mother and Italian immigrant father raised chickens and goats while living the American dream of raising children, owning property and living off the land. Now a retired public school educator/administrator, some of my most peaceful moments are spent reading a great novel on the large deck in the backyard. It is my pleasure to share our vacation home with you and your family as you relax, enjoy the beach and coastal amenities, while making memories for a lifetime. May you always feel welcome here!
Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz:
Keep searching and you'll notice the high price of vacation home rentals in the Santa Cruz or Capitola beachfront area. Quite frankly, the nights get loud and the streets very busy during the peak beach season. Who needs that? You're on vacation, right? While at Gloria Ann's Ranchero House, you can enjoy quiet Soquel nights, a walk along the Anna Jean Cummings Park walking trail or just some great BBQ moments on the back deck.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Rachero House is equipped with everything you need. My family and I have gone to great lengths to provide you, your family and friends with a fully equipped kitchen, towels, linens, fine soaps, shampoo and conditioner, hair dryers with comfortable beds and pillows. Every guest can find their niche at Ranchero House whether they're in the back yard barbecuing, relaxing on the large deck, playing ping-pong in the finished garage, watching DISH Satellite TV on one of the four flat-screen LCD or Plasma TVs located in each bedroom and great-room, playing cards or games on the game table, reading one of the many novels in the library, or preparing a meal in the modern kitchen. Close enough to fine dining like the 4 star Shadowbrook Restaurant or the best pizza you will ever taste; Pizza My Heart in Capitola! Ranchero House can become your yearly destination for seeing the local sights, providing the comfort and relaxation you need while making memories for a lifetime! Let us help you make it happen!
