Quiet, beautiful, comfortable and clean!
Quiet, beautiful, comfortable and clean!
We spent a wonderful (hot) July week enjoying this home on a quiet lake. Getting to Tanglewood, the Rockwell Museum, blueberry picking, hiking and a host of other activities was easy. Canoeing was a real pleasure on this little lake. The owners could not have been more helpful in making our vacation so relaxing and easy. The downstairs bath and bedroom were very convenient for my 85 year old mother.

Rainy Memorial Day Weekend
Rainy Memorial Day Weekend
My family with 2 elementary school aged children stayed at this property over Memorial Day weekend. The house is located on a dead end street along the shore of a beautiful lake. It is minutes to Great Barrington - a quaint New England town with plenty of nice restaurants. There are also many outdoor activities in the area. While not overly luxurious, the house itself is very comfortable and functional, and most importantly clean. The bedrooms are bright and spacious, with reasonably comfortable beds. There is cable television and a few board games and puzzles in the living area that helped keep kids occupied on a rainy day. Family room has a lovely wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped. There is also a screened porch, which we unfortunately did not get to use much due to the cold and rainy weather, but I am sure it would be lovely to hang out there on a nicer day. Overall I felt that the owners were very thoughtful in providing all necessities to make your stay comfortable - extra towels, sheets, toilet paper, soap, basic staples in the pantry, plenty of firewood, even pack & play for small kids, and portable heaters. In addition, the owners were very responsive, trustworthy and easy to deal with. But the highlight of the property was the lake! Bring a fishing pole and you will catch plenty of fish directly from your backyard or by taking the canoe (that comes with the house) out to the lake. Or just enjoy the beautiful serene views from a leisurely canoe ride, or from a swing in the backyard. End your day with a fire in the backyard fire pit. Despite the miserable weather, my family really enjoyed our stay here.
