About this property
Oceanfront Gem! Steps to Waimanalo Beach – Private Home. NUC No.: 1990/NUC-1690.
Our wonderful Waimanalo Beach House is a lovely home, right on the beautiful five mile long white sand Waimanalo Beach. Swim right in front of the house, sandy bottom - no rocks and no coral. Waimanalo Beach is located on Hawaii's main island, Oahu, and is just 25 minutes from Honolulu International Airport and famous Waikiki Beach. NUC No.: 1990/NUC-1690 permitted by the City & County of Honolulu for short-term vacation rental. 41-911 Laumilo St. Waimanalo, HI. TMK 41005051.
It sleeps 8 in the bedrooms and has parking for 4 cars. However, only 3 cars are allowed. It is right on the beautiful sandy beach and you can see the ocean from the living room, dining room and master bedroom. The beach is magnificent. There are no rocks and no coral. There are beautiful views of the pali cliffs and the sunrise over the ocean.
There is a three bedroom, two bath main house with shower and tub and HDTV and also a separate cottage with a fourth bedroom with its own queen size bed, HDTV, and bathroom with shower. The City and County of Honolulu requires that a property on which a transient vacation unit is located may not be used for gatherings of ten or more individuals who are not registered as overnight transient occupants.
Magnificent views of several off shore islands and the morning sunrise offer an inspiring start to each day. Discover the gentle ocean breezes & VIEWS of 7 Islands Including: Lanai, Molokai, Mañana aka Rabbit Island, Kaohikaipu aka Black Rock Island, Mokulua Islands & Moku Manu Island! This is your own piece of paradise, and whether it is a honeymoon, adventure, or family holiday, it has it all. Facilities include a modern kitchen, bamboo floors, koa floors, jacuzzi tub, HDTV's, outdoor hot/cold shower and built-in barbecue pits. The large private yard is adorned with hibiscus flowers, plumeria trees, mature paperbark trees, Madagascar olives and coconut trees! Enjoy the private beach access as you walk through a short, sand trail surrounded by beach Naupaka. Hawaiian style beach house located feet from Waimanalo Beach, the longest stretch of sandy shoreline on O`ahu. The white sand beach directly in front of the house is truly amazing and one of the most spectacular beaches on the Island. There are no rocks or coral reefs to interfere with your enjoyment while swimming. The waves break on the reef offshore. On a clear day, you can see Molokai. Some days you can even see as far as Haleakela on Maui. You can also see Rabbit Island and Black Rock, now sanctuaries for the big sea birds. The pali cliffs are magnificent and some days you can see hang gliders enjoying the Waimanalo breezes. The house has an outdoor hot and cold shower for an easy return to the house from the beach and an outdoor red brick deck.
The State Transient Accomodation Tax is 10.25%, (to be increased in 11% on Jan. 1, 2026), the State Gross Excise tax is 4.712%, and O’ahu Transient Accommodation Tax is 3%. Hawaii law imposes these taxes on all charges associated with the rental, including the cleaning fee and VRBO fees. VRBO collects these state and county taxes for us and VRBO. Why they chose this property
Why We Chose Waimānalo
We fell in love with Waimānalo decades ago because it feels like the Hawai‘i of old— a quiet seaside community where neighbors know each other, keiki (kids) still ride their bikes to the shave-ice stand, and every sunrise is a small celebration. The beach itself sealed the deal: five unbroken miles of fine, white sand framed by turquoise water on one side and emerald Pali cliffs on the other. There are no high-rises, no nightlife noise—just the rolling sound of gentle waves and birdsong at dawn.
What we enjoy most is the balance: we can pick up farm-fresh produce at the weekend farmers’ market, grab plate lunches from family-run cafés, or drive 15 minutes to Kailua for boutiques and restaurants—yet the moment we turn back onto Laumilo Street, the pace slows and the sky opens wide. Even after all these years we still pause to watch the sea change colors at sunset or to spot honu (sea turtles) cruising the shoreline.
In short, Waimānalo offers the rare mix of pristine natural beauty and genuine local culture—exactly the kind of place we dreamed of raising our family and exactly the kind of experience we’re excited to share with our guests.

What makes this property unique
What Makes Our Property Unique
• True, Legal Beachfront Stay – Fewer than 150 single-family homes on O‘ahu are fully licensed TVUs; ours holds NUC #90/TVU-0366 (Conv. ID 1990/NUC-1690), so you enjoy a genuine feet-in-the-sand experience without the 90-day minimum stay rule that limits most rentals.
• “Double Dwelling” Flexibility – A three-bedroom main house plus a detached studio cottage lets multi-generation families or two couples travel together while still having personal space.
• Sunrise-to-Starlight Views – From the living room and primary suite you watch the sun peek over Rabbit Island; from the lanai you count the stars undimmed by city lights—magic you rarely find this close to Honolulu.
• Old-Hawai‘i Neighborhood Vibe – Waimānalo remains blissfully free of high-rises; instead you’re greeted by friendly neighbors, a roadside farm stand, and miles of uncrowded white sand.
• Thoughtful Extras – Central A/C, gig-speed Wi-Fi, outdoor hot/cold shower, beach gear closet, and a lush yard big enough for sunset yoga sessions or children’s games—all maintained by a family that lives just up the road and treats every guest like a longtime friend.
