This spacious three-room apartment is located directly on Lanes Cove in Lanesville (Gloucester) with spectacular ocean views from every room and is literally steps to the waters edge. It has a private entrance, full kitchen, living room (w/queen sofa bed), bedroom with queen bed, off-street parking, private patio and yard.
You will enjoy the intimacy of the cove as well as the views of Crane Beach and Plum Island across Ipswich Bay. This area is famous for spectacular sunsets (National Geographic has called it one of the ten best in the world). Lanes Cove is a favorite spot for artists and kayakers alike.
Lanesville is one of the quaint villages encircling Cape Ann and is conveniently located about 10 minutes from either downtown Gloucester or Rockport. You can swim in the cove or take a short walk to Plum Cove beach. Halibut Point State Park and Dogtown Common are only a mile away.
Gloucester is only an hour by train or car from Boston and is one of New England's best-kept summer vacation secrets. From earliest settlers in 1623 to today's Hollywood film-makers, the beauty of Cape Ann has drawn people from around the world. Recently made famous in the movie "The Perfect Storm", Gloucester has a rich maritime history and is the oldest working seaport and active artist colony in the United States. Thank you both for giving us the opportunity to have such a great time on the cove! In the morning we loved to have breakfast on the patio with an excellent ocean view. We used to live in that area 10 years ago; so we enjoyed the amazing sunsets after a busy day of sightseeing and diving in our memories. Every evening it seemed to us like coming home. Stan and Sandy are so hospitable. The home is amazing. We use vrbo a lot when we vacation. The pictures don't do it justice. It's so peaceful and quite. We had the most amazing relaxed time. I can't say enough about it. It was absolutely PERFECT!!!!!!

Wow, what an amazing gem this apartment is, My wife and I loved it! Everything is exceptionally well kept and all essentials are there for your use. We were thrilled with the location and became spoiled by the luxuries of it all. The pictures and descriptions are all accurate, but you certainly have to see it for yourself to appreciate how beautiful and comfortable the owner has made this spot. I highly recommend it!!

Lane's Cove is the perfect spot for kayakers or for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation on the water. Stan and Sandy have created a wonderful retreat with lots of amenities and special touches - from the wine and other goodies that greet you when you arrive, to the newspapers delivered to your door each morning. The views from the apartment are incredible - lobster boats, kayakers, and the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see on the east coast. The apartment is located between Gloucester and Rockport - easy distance to great restaurants, shopping and everything else the area has to offer.

I'd love to say our extended stay was terrible, and keep this little gem to ourselves, but I have to be truthful. Stan and Sandy were great hosts, providing everything you'd need to make it your home away from home. The sunsets were dramatic, the lilacs were in bloom, the weather was fantastic, the accommodations superb! Thank you, thank you for letting us share a bit of your paradise.

Davis and I can't remember how many vacations we've spent on the cove, but it always feels like coming home. I came here really needing a rest and the first three days were totally restful. Even the marginal weather was conductive to resting!! The other agenda, for me, was whole-bellied-fried clams!!! We ate them at TopDog (Bearskin Neck, Rockport), Ipswich Clambox and Essex Seafood. Roger walked and explored Lanesville, bought scones from the The Grind (blueberry-oat, the best) and ate chowders. Clambox was excellent for clam chowder and Essex best for seafood chowder We will be back to this wonderful spot.
