From the three decks you can enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean and dunes. Enjoy a good night’s sleep in one of the many comfortable beds. On the upper levels, two bedrooms are equipped with queen beds. The third bedroom has a queen and a twin-over-full bunk. A full-size futon, twin sleeper and portable crib are also available.
Other area attractions less than an hour’s drive include Nehalem Bay Winery, Cape Meares Lighthouse, Tillamook Cheese factory, Tillamook Air Museum, Cannon Beach shopping and Seaside outlet mall.
Mazanita is a small oceanfront town with seven miles of beautiful Oregon coastline. It has two small grocery stores, gift and antique shops, restaurants and wine bar, day spa and city park with play structure and tennis courts.

The spacious house is good for large or small groups. Basement game room was used frequently. We arrived before Christmas and think the house was not used for a long time because it had a strong fish smell when we opened door. The odor was limited to the basement and went away as the days progressed, but that is also where five people can sleep. We arrived at night so needed the front and back lights. Unfortunately, the back did not turn on automatically. The kitchen was well equipped. We used all three of the full bathrooms; nice when you have multiple families. Each sleeping space was used, but the basement waited until it was aired out. The beach was just over the dune and quiet. Internet was important to us and worked fine. We did not use telephone. There was a variety of CDs and DVDs for our occasional use. Plenty of linens, but a previous occupant left a dirty blanket with hairband and small toy. A towel was also dirty. This shows the importance of thoroughly cleaning by occupant. Nice fireplace, but we did not use it. We could hear and peak at the ocean. We had enough room so the seven of us did not feel cramped when all were in house. We could retreat to game room, living room, loft, kitchen or bedrooms. The little town of Manzanita had conveniences, especially pizza. We ventured north and south, so enjoyed Tillamook, Cannon Beach and Seaside. Winter is a quieter time for this area. Oh, each room/area had electric heat and we needed it.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family, friends and I came to Manzanita for a three day getaway, and the Spyglass retreat was perfect for all of us. We had six adults and four children (ages 4-9) and everybody had plenty of room. I knew the beach would be close, but it was better than I expected! The street feels very private--the house sits basically at the end of the street right by the dune entrance to beach, so we felt like it was our own private beach access. It was a two minute walk from the house to the beach, which was important to me because with young kids, I didn't want it to be a long walk to or from. And what a beach! Beautiful. The adults went for morning and evening walks. The kids spent time rolling down the dunes and playing on the beach. We had fun watching kite boarders in the water. During one of the busiest beach weekends when Seaside and Cannon Beach were overrun with people, Manzanita Beach was perfect--some people but you feel like it's a private beach. The state park was just minutes away and we had wanted to hike Nehalem mountain but instead went to Kelly's Marina just 5-10 minutes south on 101 and went crabbing instead. We went crabbing, and they cooked the crab right there for you to eat there or take home. We also went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory, which was a 25 minute drive south. The house met all our needs--it was most importantly located right by the beach, and it was located close to the activities we wanted to do. It was welcoming, clean, and well-decorated. There's a living room located right next to the kitchen, so that kids and adults could sit and visit while getting food ready in the kitchen. The deck off the kitchen/living is great. We grilled one night using the bbq and had a great time. The foosball table was a hit with kids and adults. The owner was very helpful answering all my questions and concerns, and I would recommend this property in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great stay and wonderful memories.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It was our family and another that shared the wknd here, It was awesome!!! We live very busy lives so to do nothing was great. It stormed one night, but the it was relaxing to here the ocean waves as wa layed in bed. We loved having 1 tv in the home we didn't watch it. We hooked the IPOD, baked cookies, played board games, walked down to the beach and bbq'd. It was so nice. The kids loved the basketball hoop. There is so much I could say that we loved about your home. Thank you so much it was the perfect away and setup for families. We are planning a girls get away for your home. thanks taniyaRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It couldn't have been more perfect - large family together in this lovely place. It wasn't until day 6 that it was discovered there was cable - we all learned to enjoy talking and playing games. We couldn't have had a better week. Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for offering your house. The little boys LOVED their first experience in the bunkbed. We had a beautiful day frolicking on the beach. The house is well equipped for a family and what a quaint little town to wander around.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our first beach gathering as a family and this house was perfect. The roominess and 2 full baths made it easy to be together. Thanks so much for making this lovely home available to us. The clouds did not keep us from the beach either!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A celebration of a half century of life - laughter - love - friendship - sisterhood - kinship... We couldn't ask for a more perfect setting than this one: swallows doing their spring nesting dance while ravens watch, waves lap, trees sway, flowers blossom... Here's to the next 50 years of wonder!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
