My friend and I went to Caye Caulker for a week after Christmas. We loved that Sapphire House was off the beaten path in a quiet area. We rented bikes and was at the Split in five minutes. It has lovely fauna and a great deck to watch the iguanas and birds at play. The owners and the house manager were extremely helpful and nice, and the house was clean and well maintained. Great for a family or two couples! I would definitely visit again!

Our stay at Sapphire House was very nice. Our week featured rainy days and hot days alternately and we were very comfortable there. We did find the walk to the Split a bit long after the first few times and VERY long in the midst of tropical storms and so we'd suggest renting bikes. It makes the distances a non-issue. While the Caye has changed a lot since I was here 20 years ago, it's still a wonderfully laid back place to relax. Thanks for an enjoyable week!

If you are visiting Caye Caulker, this is the house you need to stay in. It is in a great location, and the house itself was amazing. The full size kitchen, and large sitting area made eating meals in extremely easy. The house is close enough to walk to the island airport if you fly in, walk to the split to hang out, and secluded enough to have a quite evening on the porch.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sapphire House for 5 nights and it was a great place to stay! It's a short walk or bike ride away from the main streets of town, so it was nice and quiet after a day of snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, or exploring the island. The house was clean, spacious, and sunny. The balcony was an added bonus, and the kitchen had everything you'd need to prepare meals at the house. Both the owners and property managers were helpful in making sure we had a pleasant stay, and the property managers were just a few minutes or phone call away in case you needed anything. The house would be great for families or 4 people, we had more than enough room. I would recommend this house to family or friends visiting Caye Caulker and we hope to return someday! Snorkeling with manatees, nurse sharks and sea turtles was my favorite part of our stay. The island was fun and laid back, and the quick bike ride to the split for a swim was great during hot afternoons! There are lots of restaurants close by if you don't feel like cooking. Overall, we had wonderful time staying on Caye Caulker and Sapphire house was icing on the cake!

Sapphire House is very clean and spacious. It has a large yard, and a porch that provides great opportunities for bird watching. It is close to the airstrip, but as planes only arrive (maybe) twice a day there's no noise concern. It's a little bit far from the center of town, but we rented bikes and found that we really enjoyed the short ride in. It only takes about 5 minutes to get from the house up to the split on two wheels. On the flip side it is very peaceful and quiet away from the bars and restaurants. All in all we had a lovely honeymoon! We are already trying to figure out how we can get back to Caye Caulker.

We had a wonderful time at the sapphire house. THe house was great and the location was so quiet and peaceful. The short walk into town was always pleasant and you could take so many routes to see something new each time. I would highly recommend the sapphire house for your stay in Belize. It was close to everything and it was truly an escape from the busy world.

Sapphire House is beautiful...loved waking up in the morning to the birds singing and the breeze blowing thru the curtains! We could feel our blood pressure go down, down as we adjusted to the pace of Island life. We rented bikes and rode to the beach or split every morning. I never tired of looking out at the blues in the water. We went snorkling and fishing with a local company - which were adventures! (especially swimming with the rays and nurse sharks!). The guides were very knowledgeable and fun. We caught a lot of fish and I did cook one dinner!! Otherwise we sampled many restaurants and local cusine. We took the water taxi to the island but flew back to Belize, so it was nice to see our surroundings from different angles. We never left the island to explore San Pedro or surrounding islands as everything we wanted was right there on Caye Caulker. The house was charming and spotless. The caretakers were welcoming and helpful. We definately will be back someday when we need a fix of stress-free island life!

We spent two weeks over Christmas and felt we would have liked to have stayed longer because we enjoyed everything so much. The house was more than we expected. It is spacious and well furnished including the kitchen. Even though the local resturants were excellant, we prepared half our meals at the house. There were local shops and stands with fresh fruits and vegetables. We found a meat market near the water taxi dock that had excellant chicken and pork, avoid the beef. The Bakery for cinnamon rolls, Rose's for seafood, Glenda's for breakfast, the Sport's Bar for lunch were all our favorites. We had morning coffee on the porch overlooking a beautiful garden which attracted a variety of birds. So many, we actually used the bird book many times to identify yet another one we had not seen before. The house and Caye Caulker are safe. At no time did we have reason to worry. We highly recommend the day tour to Altun Ha booked through E-Z Boy Tours. We also recommend that you rent bicyles. If we had to summarise our vacation in one word-relaxing. Would we return to Caye Caulker-yes. Would we stay at Sapphire House-absolutely. Carol and John

The house was even nicer than the pictures. Everything was clean and ready for our stay. The owner even left a couple of beers in the fridge. They sure tasted good and were appreciated after the long journey to get there. The island is only about a mile long but it sure feels bigger after walking around so I would recommend renting bikes for the week. We had so much fun riding around and waving to all the friendly people who live there. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts as we got engaged during our stay. We hope to return soon but if not we would recommend it to all our family and friends!

I recommend this house without reservation. It is everything the pictures say it is. Caye Caulker is a charming place to stay, and this house is a little removed from the busyness of the town for excellent rest and relaxation. It is quiet, air conditioned, and clean. If you have up to 4 people, this house is for you! Additionally, the owners and on site managers are gracious and concerned that you are well cared for.
