I have stayed in this home on 3 different occasions: with family(3 grandchildren), a girlfriends week and with a daughter this past October. I love the location. You can sit on the screened porch and see everything going on at the beach but I love taking my beach chair and sitting in the sand. (Ileave my chair there all week). The house is furnished as needed. It is so close to Beaufort and the shopping there is wonderful. There are some neat little places (close) to eat. The island is a wonderful place to walk or ride a bike. The beach is never crowded. I would highly recommend this rental.

The house and the neighborhood are wonderful. Probably one the of best locations on this quiet area of beach. The gated community, pool, tennis courts, and fitness center added a lot of variety. A great place to be able to allow older kids some freedom on vacation. The house is beautiful with a great view. Really enjoyed the great room with 5 chlidren in our party last year. Hope to return soon.

One of the best locations along this small strip of beach. Excellent view from the house. House is truly beach front with the short walk way. The inside is very crisp and clean, and not filled with the loud "beach" colors you often get elsewhere. Bedrooms are very large and comfortable, with plenty of room for small kids to play in the pictured great room. Kitchen is functional and enought storage for the typical week stay. With the calm and shallow ocean, very amenable for small children, though low tide requires a bit of a walk out to get to meaningful water, This does offer the opportunity to see plenty of crabs and other wildlife. State park, literally next door to the housing development, supplies more adventure and even deeper beach to explore. The gated community has a wonderful pool / fitness center that can help keep you in water if you get a little tired of the ocean. We went back and forth a great deal, and the kids just kept going at all times. The fitness center had a nice circuit weight training setup. Visits to Beaufort and Savannah were great adds to our stay as well. A great place I would rate above others at Tybee Island, Myrtle, and Topsail Beach

Great oceanfront home to relax in!

We stayed here in 2008. The house is so close to the beach and is perfect for families with children as you often have to run back and forth to the house. The screened porch is great for relaxing and listening to the ocean without having to be in the sun. The bedrooms are very large and spacious. The dining area only seats six, not eight as listed in the property details. The neighborhood is very nice as well and has a good-sized community pool as well as a kiddie pool and fun playground. The tennis courts are in good shape. There was also a golf practice/chipping area but we did not use it. Staying at Harbor Island felt like we were in a little private resort. The Island is small enough that the beach was never crowded. The neighbors and security staff were very friendly.

This is a wonderful vacation rental. The house is well decorated, comfortable, perfectly located if you want a relaxing, peaceful vacation. Golf, kayaking, restaurants, shopping close by.
