The entire home has been remodeled and BRAND NEW furniture was added in November 2010. Located just 25 minutes from Wolf Creek Ski Resort, and 60 miles from Durango this home is perfectly located for the Skier that enjoys their options. The home is also located minutes away from National Forest Land perfect for Hunting/Fishing.
While staying at this beautiful home, please take the time to enjoy the hot springs located in the city. It is a wonderful way to relax after a long day of traversing down the mountain, tracking that large elk, or wrangling the trout out of the river.
We have covered every base when designing this home. From the towel heaters in the master bathroom, to the garlic press in the kitchen, we have everything you need to turn the key and relax. Firewood is located in the covered garage and is free of charge. We have supplied a few necessities in the bathrooms (personal mouthwash, shampoo, lotion, soap) just in case you may have forgotten some of your own.
The large wrap around porch is perfect for lounging at night, enjoying your favorite cocktail or our complimentary bottle of wine, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs
I fell in love with the area the first time I went to Pagosa Springs to go snowboarding. I actually loved it so much that we drove up the following weekend to purchase our home. The Lake Hatcher area is perfect for us because it is so close to many great hiking trails and the views from the living room are amazing.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Some of our favorite things include enjoying a bottle of wine by the fire place in the winter, smelling the fresh air after a recent rain fall in the spring, cooking out on the grill in the summer and watching the leaves turn in the fall. Such a beautiful place throughout the year!!
a small gate here provides and entrance into the national forest.
If you prefer to drive right to the trails here is a good parking area.
Beautiful Hike up to Ice Cave Ridge, you can also hike alongs the river to some beautiful secluded spots.

Our family really enjoyed out stay in Pagosa Springs and the surrounding areas, but the property had several shortcomings. * Cleanliness - The house wasn't cleaned when we arrived just before midnight. The prior tenants picked up after themselves, but the floors needing vacuuming, the bathrooms and counters needing cleaning, and the sheets were still piled on the bed waiting to be washed. * Garbage - Garbage pickup is on Thursday morning, very early, so make note. Also, I would advise tenants to keep the trash IN THE GARAGE until trash day. I say this because we had a bear raid the trash can early one morning since it was outside. Fortunately, he was far more interested in the garbage than us, so after 30 minutes he wandered off back to his home or another garbage can, I suspect. * Roof Leaks - We had a severe thunderstorms one afternoon and came back to the house to find the roof leaking in many places, so much so, we used all the bowls in the kitchen in order to catch the rain coming through. I will say that the location is wonderful, tucked away in a nice quiet rural neighborhood off the beaten path. The scenery from the house is wonderful and the location is very convenient to anything you may want to do. I'd would highly recommend the drive out to the Williams Reservoir and the short hike up to Piedra Falls (in the same area).
Owner response:There was a mix up on the schedule my cleaning lady thought they were checking in the next date. I immediately sent my cleaning lady out first thing in the morning to fix the house up. I also did not charge this group for their stay. Roof: The roof does not leak. I had a company inspect the roof. There have been no other instances of this happening.

The house was great and we had such a nice family vacation there. The snow at Wolf Creek was incredible- tons of powder - and the hot springs were such a wonderful treat! It was a great place to unwind. All the beds were comfortable, had nice sheets, and the house was spacious. The location would be good in other seasons, as well, since it's right near the golf course. We'll be back! Thanks.

I thought the cabin was great, we went over Christmas to ski. The roads were fairly clear to get the main roads. Stores were a close drive away and we were in a nice area with quiet homes surrounding us. The kitchen could have used a few more kitchen essential, but it was overall a good experience.
