This cozy log cabin. It embraces you from the moment you enter - any time of year. Whether it's morning coffee on porch, savoring the sunset over the mountains from the deck, enjoying the beach on a sunny summer day at Mirror Lake or Lake Lure, or cuddling in front of the fire on a winter's eve, you are encouraged to catch your breath, sigh, and relax in this natural setting in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Perhaps the windowseat will beckon to you to indulge in a good book or a well-deserved nap. Or enjoy lunch in the screened in porch.
Springtime brings the cabin's great show of azaleas and dogwoods in bloom. Share the deck during the summer with the hummingbirds by day and the fireflies in the evening. The variety of trees provide a colorful, wonderous autumn. Winter views are majestic.
Located in a gated community, you have use of its amenities just a 5 minute drive from the cabin: Mirror Lake (a pretty private lake with swimming beach), easy access to the Broad River for fishing, swimming, or adventuring, and a scenic picnic area along the river. Lovingly furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and rustic pieces, the great room has a cathedral ceiling, skylights, and ceiling fans. TV, VCR, DVD player and a collection of movies, satellite TV, and board games provide entertainment. Sleeping accommodations offer two bedrooms (one king; one queen) and two full baths (linens provided). Ceiling fan in each room. A futon in the great room converts to a double bed, and a rollaway bed is also available. Linens provided. Central heat and air.
The kitchen is fully equipped including refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster over, coffee maker, blender, pots and pans, utensils, and dishes.
Favorite spots for relaxing or gathering with family and friends are the deck and screened porch. A hammock chair, cedar porch swing, gas grill, and patio furniture are provided for your enjoyment. Or laze in the double hammock under the trees.
Try tubing on the Broad River, shopping in the charming villages of Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Rutherfordton, or Black Mountain, taking a narrated boat tour of Lake Lure, visiting the Biltmore Estate, or playing at the water park at Lake Lure. Three golf courses are within a ten minute drive. Marvel at the view from the top of Chimney Rock.
A variety of restaurants are within a 5 to 20 minute drive, and the cabin "handbook" includes menus from many of them.
Well behaved pets are warmly welcomed! The deck is enclosed with a railing and 2 gates and connects to a fenced in yard.
