This cozy log cabin embraces you from the moment you enter - any time of year. Perhaps the windowseat will beckon to you to indulge in a good book or a well-deserved nap. Or enjoy lunch in the screened in porch.

Springtime brings the cabin's great show of azaleas and dogwoods in bloom. Share the deck during the summer with the hummingbirds by day and the fireflies in the evening. The variety of trees provides a colorful, wondrous autumn. Winter views are majestic.

Favorite spots are the deck and screened porch. A hammock chair, cedar porch swing, gas grill, and patio furniture are provided for your enjoyment. Or laze in the double hammock under the trees.

Try tubing on the Broad River, shopping in the charming villages of Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Rutherfordton, or Black Mountain, taking a narrated boat tour of Lake Lure, visiting the Biltmore Estate, or playing at the water park at Lake Lure. Three golf courses are within a ten minute drive. Marvel at the view from the top of Chimney Rock.

A variety of restaurants are within a 5 to 20 minute drive, and the cabin "handbook" includes menus from many of them.

Cozy and Comfortable Log Cabin - Pet Friendly

Year Purchased: 2000

Why the Owner Chose Lake Lure

Although only a two hour drive from Columbia, SC, the Lake Lure area is a world away from the city. The scenic vistas inspire and soothe the soul. The area offers a variety of activities, including golf, swimming, boating, hiking, antiquing, fishing, and horseback riding. My personal favorite is walking with the dogs from the cabin to Amy's Ridge to marvel at the view.

The Unique Benefits at this Log Cabin

The cabin is in a private setting on over an acre on a gated road, yet it is convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, and the area attractions. Being in a gated community, guests have access to a private lake with swimming beach and a scenic picnic area along the river. The town of Lake Lure with a large town beach is only a 15 min. drive.

A
Ingle's Supermarket

This store is huge! Large deli, bakery, organic produce, book store, pharmacy, gas station, etc. Only a 10 min. drive from the cabin.

B
Hiking Trails

Right across the street from Ingles Supermarket, this is a network of several trails.

C
Larkins Restaurant

Located on the east end of lake Lure. Excellent food, excellent service, and beautiful view of the lake. Restaurant upstairs; outside informal eating and sports bar down stairs.

D
Municipal Golf Course

If you're a golfer on a budget, this is the place for you! Very scenic, but budget friendly 9 hole course.

E
Mirror Lake

Private lake with swimming beach located in the gated community of Riverbend.

Owner's Map of Lake Lure

The "Boys" and I enjoy walks and play time, both at the cabin and at home. Daily walks help me to appreciate nature with new eyes every morning. I'm a former teacher and college professor and currently do training and customer support for a software company.

    • Anne's cabin is a wonderful get-away for you and your pet! Our golden retriever loved the cabin, the built-in kennel (she made the first one her cave for the week) and the fenced back yard. The stairs down to the back yard gave her a good workout too, which she needed! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin as well. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen was fully outfitted so we didn't eat out once all week. Of course, the Ingles just down the twisty road a bit had everything one could want for cooking or baking, so that made it easy. The cabin's just the right size for a couple or a small family. The fireplace is great, and being able to surf the web and keep up with my work email mid day was a real load off my mind while away. You don't find these kinds of amenities at other cabins, that's for sure! I highly recommend the Manchester cabin for your holiday to Lake Lure. The views are beautiful and it's bound to be a special destination for my family and golden for years to come.

    • As soon as we arrived at the cabin, we went out on the deck to check out the view. My husband said, "Listen to that quiet!" We had so much fun watching our 3 dogs "adjust" to their new surroundings. The built-in kennels were wonderful and they immediately decided which would be theirs for the week. We also took the dogs on the Donald Ross Hiking Trail. The definition of "moderate" in the mountains is different than in the flat lands of the coast but we made it to the top. The rest of our time was spent reading, shopping, eating and most important....relaxing. This is a great place to stay and we plan to come back again soon. Thanks from all of us. • We had a wonderful 10 day stay in Anne's cabin. It had everything we could ever want, plus more. I think it was the most complete place we have stayed in as far as amenities. I was impressed by all the amenities the kitchen had, including blender, a crock pot, toaster oven to name a few. Even had a full assortment of kitchen gadgets and a dishwasher. Also a nice goodie basket was on the counter to greet us upon arrival. We enjoyed the deck and screened in porch and the proximity to hiking, kayaking and river tubing. Biltmore is less than 40 minutes away. We did see some deer in the evening and hummingbirds. Lots of deck furniture and a hammock. There is quite a collection of games, puzzles, books and dvd's. It was a wonderful vacation...we'll be back. Thanks Anne!

    • This is just the best place to get away and it's so close to town for shopping (if you can drag yourself out of this little piece of heaven!!) Just sitting on the deck, we saw deer, a chipmunk, squirrels, various birds including an owl (who saw the squirrels, too) and can't forget the friendly opossum!! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a relaxing, comfortable, and quiet place to get away.

    • Comments all seem to be from couples and families. My stay was a Girlfriends Get Together--the cabin is great for that too! Having two bathrooms was very convenient allowing us to have our own space and internet service helped us stay slightly connected to regular life. The cabin's coziness inspired late night conversations, movie watching, and multiple locations for wining, dining, and playing cards! We loved Lake Lure trivia--the "Dirty Dancing" movie has new meaning--and its easy access location from the Charlotte airport and day trips to towns like Asheville.

    • As soon as we walked into Annie's cabin last weekend, we knew we didn't want to leave! It was so cozy, peaceful and inviting as well as spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Every convenience was thoughtfully provided--from appliances to a variety of sitting areas to "chill out." I loved watching the bluebird family and hummingbirds at the feeder from the deck. Of course, picking our own blueberries wasn't bad either! We loved exploring the sites and shops nearby--Chimney Rock, a relaxing boat tour on Lake Lure, paddling and swimming at the private beach on Mirror Lake and a delicious dinner at Larkins. The mountain views were gorgeous no matter where we turned. Our stay was awesome, and we'll definitely tell all our friends! Thank you, Annie!

    • Our family spent a wonderful weekend at Manchester's Cabin. Anne gave all the details we needed to enjoy a wonderful stay. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch where we ate all our meals. We also enjoyed the amenties of the Riverbend Community on Mother's Day, the private beach and beautiful waterfalls. We had the place to ourselves for most of the day! Thanks for a wonderful stay. And also, if you have pets, this would be the ideal vacation spot for you.

    • We had a wonderful time at the cabin - brought our two Scotties along instead of having to board them in the kennel while we go off for vacation. Very pet friendly, clean and cozy with great views. We will be back! Brenda

It is close and convenient to commerce yet totally private and has the feeling that you are in the mountains, which you are! You could want for nothing in this cabin. Hugh video library as well as games, books, puzzles and close-by activities.
