A very big THANK YOU to the new and returning guests who have reserved all weeks for summer 2009!! For those who are still planning a summer vacation, send an e-mail to join the cancellation list.

Now is the time to reserve your fall and winter getaways! Holiday weeks for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are still available.

NEW FEATURE: Broadband (high speed internet) is now installed at the cabin! Enjoy the convenience of WiFi from the porch.

This cozy log cabin embraces you from the moment you enter - any time of year. Whether it's morning coffee on the porch, savoring the sunset over the mountains from the deck, enjoying the beach on a sunny summer day at Mirror Lake or Lake Lure, or cuddling in front of the fire on a winter's eve, you are encouraged to catch your breath, sigh, and relax in a tranquil, natural setting in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Perhaps the windowseat will beckon to you to indulge in a good book or a well-deserved nap. Or enjoy lunch in the screened in porch.

Springtime brings the cabin's great show of azaleas and dogwoods in bloom. Share the deck during the summer with the hummingbirds by day and the fireflies in the evening. The variety of trees provides a colorful, wonderous autumn. Winter views are majestic.

Located in a Riverbend, a gated community, you have use of its amenities just a 5 minute drive from the cabin: Mirror Lake (a pretty private lake with swimming beach), covered picnic pavillion overlooking the lake, easy access to the Broad River for fishing, swimming, or adventuring, and a scenic picnic area along the river.

Lovingly furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and rustic pieces, the great room has a fireplace, cathedral ceiling, skylights, and ceiling fans. TV, VCR, DVD player and a collection of movies, satellite TV, WiFi DSL internet, and board games provide entertainment. Sleeping accommodations offer two bedrooms (one king; one queen) and two full baths (linens provided). Ceiling fan in each room. A futon in the great room converts to a double bed, and a rollaway bed is also available. Linens provided. Central heat and air.

The kitchen is fully equipped including refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster over, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, pots and pans, utensils, and dishes.

Favorite spots are the deck and screened porch. A hammock chair, cedar porch swing, gas grill, and patio furniture are provided for your enjoyment. Or laze in the double hammock under the trees.

Try tubing on the Broad River, shopping in the charming villages of Chimney Rock, Bat Cave, Rutherfordton, or Black Mountain, taking a narrated boat tour of Lake Lure, visiting the Biltmore Estate, or playing at the water park at Lake Lure. Three golf courses are within a ten minute drive. Marvel at the view from the top of Chimney Rock.

A variety of restaurants are within a 5 to 20 minute drive, and the cabin "handbook" includes menus from many of them.

Well behaved pets are warmly welcomed! The deck is enclosed with a railing and 2 gates and connects to a fenced in yard.

No smoking please.

Cozy and Comfortable Log Cabin

Year Purchased: 2000

Why the Owner Chose Lake Lure

Although only a two hour drive from Columbia, SC, the Lake Lure area is a world away from the city. The scenic vistas inspire and soothe the soul. The area offers a variety of activities, including golf, swimming, boating, hiking, antiquing, fishing, and horseback riding. My personal favorite is walking with the dogs from the cabin to Amy's Ridge to marvel at the view.

The Unique Benefits at this Log Cabin

The cabin is in a private setting on over an acre on a gated road, yet it is convenient to the grocery store, restaurants, and the area attractions. Being in a gated community, guests have access to a private lake with swimming beach and a scenic picnic area along the river. The town of Lake Lure with a large town beach is only a 15 min. drive.

A
Ingle's Supermarket

This store is huge! Large deli, bakery, organic produce, book store, pharmacy, gas station, etc. Only a 10 min. drive from the cabin.

B
Hiking Trails

Right across the street from Ingles Supermarket, this is a network of several trails.

C
Larkins Restaurant

Located on the east end of lake Lure. Excellent food, excellent service, and beautiful view of the lake. Restaurant upstairs; outside informal eating and sports bar down stairs.

D
Municipal Golf Course

If you're a golfer on a budget, this is the place for you! Very scenic, but budget friendly 9 hole course.

E
Mirror Lake

Private lake with swimming beach located in the gated community of Riverbend.

Owner's Map of Lake Lure

The "Boys" and I enjoy walks and play time, both at the cabin and at home. Daily walks help me to appreciate nature with new eyes every morning. I'm a former teacher and college professor and currently do training and customer support for a software company.

    • As soon as we walked into Annie's cabin last weekend, we knew we didn't want to leave! It was so cozy, peaceful and inviting as well as spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Every convenience was thoughtfully provided--from appliances to a variety of sitting areas to "chill out." I loved watching the bluebird family and hummingbirds at the feeder from the deck. Of course, picking our own blueberries wasn't bad either! We loved exploring the sites and shops nearby--Chimney Rock, a relaxing boat tour on Lake Lure, paddling and swimming at the private beach on Mirror Lake and a delicious dinner at Larkins. The mountain views were gorgeous no matter where we turned. Our stay was awesome, and we'll definitely tell all our friends! Thank you, Annie!

    • Our family spent a wonderful weekend at Manchester's Cabin. Anne gave all the details we needed to enjoy a wonderful stay. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch where we ate all our meals. We also enjoyed the amenties of the Riverbend Community on Mother's Day, the private beach and beautiful waterfalls. We had the place to ourselves for most of the day! Thanks for a wonderful stay. And also, if you have pets, this would be the ideal vacation spot for you.

    • We had a wonderful time at the cabin - brought our two Scotties along instead of having to board them in the kennel while we go off for vacation. Very pet friendly, clean and cozy with great views. We will be back! Brenda

    • My mom, sister, Punkin, Puddin, and myself spent 8 wonderful days at Annie's mountain cabin. This was the first time we had been there. The cabin was well stocked with everything that anyone could possibly need. The weather was fantastic especially the last two mornings we were there because the weather had dipped into the 60's. We thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of nature every night and even got to see a chipmunk and two deer right by the cabin. The cabin is located far enough outside of town, yet close enough to make day trips (which we did several days). I would recommend Annie's cabin to anyone wanting to get away from home with all the comforts of home. A personal note: Punkin and Puddin recommed the futon for afternoon naps. Punkin especially liked it at 11:00 when the morning sun was coming through the skylight.

    • My wife and I had a wonderful stay here this past week for our honeymoon. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful, and the cabin feels like home. We especially loved sitting on the porch in the rocker with a glass of wine in the evening as the sun set. We would return to this location again.
