Good rental home and location. Comfortable stay. It has one bath on the detached unit outside which was not useful for us. We managed with only one bathroom. Other than that the home is good for 2 families to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children.

This house is located just 2 miles from the entrance to the Sequoia National Park on highway 198. It is set back from the road by a long driveway. So the house is quiet. However, you will be enveloped by sound of the river as it cascades over rocks down the canyon below. The view is spectacular. From the decks outside and from the kitchen and dining areas inside the house, you can feast on the views of tall mountain peaks in the distance. The house is clean and well equipped (although the kitchen can use an extra larger pot). The beds are comfortable. there are 2 room with queen-sized beds and a den with a fold-out bed. Our family of 6 fits very comfortably in this house as we also make use of the separate guest house which had its own bed and bathroom. The road into the Sequoia is under repair. There is up to an hour of traffic delay on the drive into the park.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time at this home and vacation spot. When looking for a house to rent the only one available on the days we wanted and that would work for us was this home. To be honest, based on the 2 pictures available on the website at the time we looked, and the description given for the home, we were not expecting much. We were concerned about the accomodations, but were desperate for a vacation so we booked the house. We needn't have worried. The house was nice and comfortable. The sounds of the rapids below greeted us as we exited the car and walked up the porch. There was a fantastic view from the porch of the rapids and of the sequoia hills. My favorite thing to do was walk down to the river, plop my chair in the water and relax while our kids played in the river. The home was clean and well kept. The yards, front and back, were pretty and inviting. There was plenty of room for the horseshoe and croquet games we brought. The house had everything we needed( except for wifi and tv channels), so we watched the NBA finals at the local pizza store. Be warned that one of the beds has an extra firm mattress (possibly needed by one of the owners), which my husband and I would not have been able to sleep on had we not been fortunate enough to have brought our foam mattress topper! I'm so glad we did. Nearby Lake Kaweah was a huge beautiful lake. We were disappointed to learn that they do not rent boats or watercraft there. We rented one of their very slow homemade pontoons, but were not impressed. Fortunately, right before our vacation was almost ending, I found a place in nearby Fresno that rented boats and water toys and delivered them to the lake for us! I'm so glad, because we were able to rent a boat and raft and have lots of fun with the kids. We also visited Kings Canyon, which was beautiful. We discovered Lake Hume there, where we fished and rented a row boat for fun at the Christian camp on site. I highly recommend visiting the camp to rent a kayak or boat and have some good food and ice cream. It was nice that the camp was open to the public. Make sure to buy some freshly picked summer fruit if you're in Three Rivers during the summer. The cherries were like candy, unlike anything I've ever purchased in my grocery store. This is a place we'd like to visit again, and I'm sure you will be pleased with the home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. This is a charming home but the view from the deck that overlooks the river was something we could not have expected. Not to mention the stars at night. The peaceful sounds of the river flowing by while dining on the deck will have us coming back again. The location is perfect for all activities and love the week-end festivals in town. We will be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
