  • Memorable

"Our time at Gracewaves was amazing. It is truly a family reunion to remember for many many years. The home is very comfortable, has plenty of beds and restrooms. We spent most of our time on the 1st floor deck, which is perfect for bar b q's- and boy is that morning sunrise a view to see. The beach is super clean and plenty of security from the Freeport Police. We really enjoyed our time there and we definitely plan on returning."

  • Quiet, quaint Hawaiian getaway

"We spent 8 days at Auntie's Cottage and couldn't have asked for anything better. The cottage was comfortable and clean and provided us all we needed as a place to relax on our vacation. We enjoyed the jungle setting each morning as we had coffee on the lanai. A 30 second walk had us sitting on the beach watching the ocean, the surf crashing against the rocks, and our own private blowhole. The north shore of Kauai is far from the action but close to great beaches and the spectacular Na Pali Coast."

Top United Kingdom Travel Attractions and Activities

The United Kingdom is made up of four separate countries -- England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Each of these regions has its own wealth of attractions but there are a few things that they have in common. Throughout the UK, you will find ancient castles and ruins of former fortresses. Each of these has its own unique tale to tell. Many of the castles are still in use today, either as royal residences, museums or boutique hotels. Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular are known for their impressive and ancient castles.

The UK is a popular golfing destination; Northern Ireland and Scotland rank as two of the best golfing destinations. There is the famous St. Andrews Golf Course in Scotland where leading PGA tournaments are played each year. There are literally hundreds of other golf courses to choose from. In the cities, such as London and Edinburgh, there are many historical sites to visit. As the nation's capital London has a rich and detailed history. Here you can see the famous attractions of Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the London Tower Bridge. There is also the famous museum of waxworks called Madam Tussaud's where you can see famous personalities from around the world immortalized in wax.

Seasons to Visit the United Kingdom

The weather of the United Kingdom is characterized by rain, and a lot of it. The advantage of this is that the rural landscapes are perpetually green and very scenic. Winters are generally quite long and in the central and northern regions, snowfalls are not uncommon. Winter starts from mid-October and generally lasts until the end of April. Spring and autumn are usually quite short-lived. Summer is from June to August and daytime temperatures can get quite hot. On a sunny day, especially if it is on the weekend, you will see many of the locals out and about making the most of the good weather. Summertime is traditionally the peak tourist season and major tourist attractions can get very crowded. If you are willing to travel out of season and possible put up with a little bit of bad weather, you can benefit from some great travel deals.
