  • Great stay at a great place

"My husband and I shared this apartment with my sister and her husband while we were in town for a wedding. We were thrilled to drive up and see this cute little apartment with a view! The apartment is clean with the perfect amount of space for two couples. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. There was plenty of reading material on Alaska along with some personal recommendations of things to do and places to go written by the hosts. As first time visitors to the area, this was very helpful. There was even a take a book/leave a book thing - which, as a book lover, made my heart happy. I didn't see a moose on the property while there, but I did get to see the glacier every morning (and night because it NEVER gets dark in Alaska, ha!). Anyway, all in all, this was a great place to stay at a great value. Highly recommend. The only thing I would mention - the place has well water. Kinda stinky water which is weird to shower in and I wouldn't drink it. BUT, the owners leave you a 5 galloon bottle of water to use!!"

  • Relaxing, quiet, although a little removed from activities

"The owner was very welcoming and friendly. The home was a great place to come back to and relax. I loved being able to look outside and see the horses. However, we felt a little too removed from where activities were. We needed to do a lot of driving."

  • Great cottage in the woods - convenient to fishing and sight-seeing

"This was the perfect place for us to stay in Alaska. The cottage is clean and perfect for a couple. It has everything you need to do some cooking. If you want to eat out, you really need to go to Wasilla. We recommend the local guide, Mike Coughlin. We caught so many rainbow trout in 2 days, we lost count. The cottage is right on Willow Creek and if you like solitude, this is the place for you. It is also convenient to lots of sightseeing: We rode to the Independence Gold Mine through Wasilla. We heard the Hatcher's Pass road through Willow is a little difficult to drive. Denali is about 2 1/2 hours away. We did not make the drive, but we had an amazing view from Willow on the Parks Highway. Some other drives we made were to Mr. Alyeska and the Turnaround Arm - also amazing and then to the Matunuska Glacier. The only thing I missed at the cottage was no Wi-Fi, but the Willow library is convenient."

  • Superior and Fantastic

"10 of us stayed here for a week. It as an amazing experience fishing out the back door! We traveled into town for fishing trips and down to Homer 3 times (about 2hours each way) for some offshore Halibut. Each man bought back 70lbs of filets thats right 700lbs of fish!!!! The sad thing is we missed the Salmon run by a week.. but the accomodations more than made up for it. Great touches and details in the house this will be my only choice next time. My son said his favorite memories were laughing with the men on the river and catching his first Halibut. priceless Thanks Mark from SC"
