  • Great place to stay for a ski weekend!

"Condo was spacious, convenient, and affordable. Much better deal than staying at the resort. Kitchen was fully equipped - perfect for our family to cook and eat meals and recharge before and after skiing each day. We loved the decor and photography displayed in the house. Three beds provided plenty of sleeping space and there were ample towels and blankets. We also enjoyed the ping pong and pool table in the common area. It was a bonus having access to a shared (coin-op) washer and dryer too. Nice to just park the car for the weekend and walk around the corner to the lifts every day, especially considering Alyeska got 3 ft. of fresh powder at the top during the 5 days we where there (when Anchorage only got a couple inches)! Owners were super friendly and easy to work with. We'll be back!"

  • Gorgeous location, lovely cabin

"My wife and I really enjoyed our week-long stay in this lovely cabin. The main floor has a well-appointed kitchen with plenty of cooking utensils and a pantry. There is an electric heater as well as a wood stove. The windows open up to a gorgeous view of Kachemak bay and glaciers. The upstairs has a master bedroom with a beautiful view and a second bedroom, the bedrooms are separated by two doors, which helped keep the noise levels down. The access road to the cabin is a dirt road, a bit bumpy in spots which runs about 3/4 mile. Catkin recommended an all-wheel drive vehicle, and we were happy to have one. On our 3rd day, we were delighted to have some morning visitors, a cow moose and her calf, who fed and sunbathed for a couple hours on the property. There are also some local Stellers Jays and Gray Jays who seem quite friendly. The trail on the adjoining Kilcher homestead to the beach is well maintained - about a 45 walk each way -- a bit too grueling for my wife (it's all uphill on the way back) but I enjoyed it, and the property is gorgeous. Only minor issues were a little trouble figuring out how to operate the bath/shower (pull the brass ring under the lip of the faucet down), and one day when we did a load of clothes, the water ran low for a bit (it is fed from a cistern). These were very minor issues and overall we really enjoyed our stay. Hope to come again."

  • Wonderful lodging in Girdwood, Alaska

"We just spent the last week staying in this condo in Girdwood. Every detail of our week here was ideal. Communication with the owners was efficient, the condo was immaculate, and the size was ideal for our family of five. We really enjoyed the private hot tub on the balcony. The location was ideal being near a great coffee shop in a quiet, quirky town. Initially we were a little concerned when we saw a group of run-down looking mobile homes that are next door to the buildings, but we did not hear a single noise from any neighbors. This condo in Girdwood is the ideal home base for doing day trips. Anchorage is only 35 miles north, Whittier is about 20 miles away (through an amazing tunnel), Hope is about 45 miles and Seward is about 90 miles south. This town is known for the Double Musky Restaurant and Jack Sprats, both which draw people from Anchorage. Having a full kitchen with every amenity, even a coffee grinder, made it possible to eat breakfast in, and then enjoy the Alaskan seafood at various restaurants. We enjoyed The Bridge Restaurant in Anchorage, Swiftwater in Whittier, The Seaview Cafe in Hope, and Double Musky here in Girdwood. We will be recommending this property to friends and family who will be visiting Alaska!"

  • Fantastic place.

"My husband and I stayed 2 nights here. Wanted to stay longer. The grounds are beautiful with connecting streams and a small pond. Much bird life. Clean quaint cabins. The place is very quiet and perfect for relaxing after hiking or fishing the great trails and streams nearby. Kent and Melanie are great hosts and Melanie is a dynamite creative cook. So nice to have full course dinner when you return each day. We will send friends and we will be back too! T and C"
