  • Great Location... Easy Walk to Downtown... Helpful Owner

"We came to this charming town to visit our son for the holidays. This cottage is in a quiet neighborhood and convenient to everything we needed...restaurants, supermarkets, sightseeing, etc. The cabin is small, and it has a Murphy bed. What it lacks in space, it makes up in charm. It has a cute kitchen area and a very nice bathroom. The outdoor space is lovely and picturesque. The owner was very helpful both prior to our arrival and during our stay when we had a problem with the TV. She fixed it immediately. Would I return? Absolutely!"

  • Los Gatos cottage

"The pictures of the cottage are pretty accurate and, although small, a good fit for a small family. I wished that I paid closer attention to the earlier reviews about the noise-level. I am normally a medium-to-heavy sleeper and yet the noise kept me up (yes, even the early hours of the morning, there is traffic coming and going on 17, especially Saturday nights). The only other two minor issues was that (1) the coffee pot was marked as leaker and we were unable to find the filter and (2) the local TV (to view the news) was not recieving a signal. We contacted John and he corrected the coffee pot situation right away. We were unable to connect on a good time to get the TV looked at, but we were able to view Netflix and some HULU. The cottage is well stocked with toilet paper, towels and cleaning supplies such as dish detergents and hand soap. We found out from John that he also stocked the other rental units with a selection of earplugs, but not in the smaller one that we were at. He plans to remedy this shortly. All the earlier reviews about contacting John are spot on, he will do his best to fix any issues that arise. It is also within a short walking distance in downtown. Although there is no garage, there is parking lot designated for the tenants, so available close by parking is not an issue. I should add that the cottage is clean, which is important consideration for me. I bundled up our toddler in the down comforter at night and you can smell the "clean laundry" scent! We would stay again, especially after hearing from John that he stocks earplugs for folks who may have forgotten to bring theirs along."

  • Wonderful host, amazing property

"I rented the Get Out Of Dodge Retreat for my 30th birthday. Rita was a fabulous, thorough and accommodating host. The ranch-style house is huge and open with a charming 50's-60's vibe (old school juke box with appropriate tunes to boot). Two hot tubs and a wonderfully sunny pool made for delightful outdoor afternoons. A plethora of games inside made for no shortage of nighttime activities. It's just up the road from Santa Cruz and highway 1, providing plenty of options for afternoons away from the house. Oh, and the kitchen is fully set up, including an outdoor grill. We cooked all our meals throughout the weekend. She even has fresh herbs growing on the deck! All in all a perfect weekend that more than lived up to expectation. I would highly recommend the property."

  • Wonderful location!

"We highly recommend this villa so close to restaurants and shopping in Los Gatos. It was perfect for the two of us. The home was very clean and comfortable. The bathtub/shower was not a problem for us but could be if you had some mobility issues. There was nothing to hold on to when stepping from a wooden step into the tub. Everything else was ideal for our stay. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the front terrace in the evenings. During the day, besides enjoying the shopping and eating in Los Gatos, we explored the surrounding area. We took 17 Mile Drive seeing the lone cypress and exploring golf courses at Pebble Beach. We also watched the seals sunbathing on the rocks, hiked in the red wood forest and toured Stanford during our stay. We hope to return to this vila in the near future!"
