  • Fun for the Whole Family

"As we approached Fenwick Island we started seeing beautiful signs about "a beach resort community like no other". Little did we know they were talking about Bayside, home of the Duffers Escape. After having enjoyed the townhouse for a week, I'm pleased to share the tagline is accurate indeed! We settled in nicely thanks to the owner's informative FAQ and welcome booklet. We were pleased to find a playground, tennis courts, ping pong, basketball court and pools right across the street that came with our economical amenity package. We never had to wait in any sort of line to play any sports, so we really did have a ball:) The pool, patio lunch area and bar were also never busy and well managed by the friendly staff. Our trip had many highlights, but one was walking the first night to The Cove restaurant for dinner. We sat outside to enjoy the live music playing next door at the amphitheater and allow the kids to enjoy the lawn before dinner was served. The evening ended on a good sweet note by roasting smores under the stars at their fire pit surrounded by water. We enjoyed ourselves so much we did this our last night too! When we weren't enjoying the resort we drove to Fenwick island beach, Bethany and Rehobeth to spend a day or two each. Thanks to the house, we had all the sand chairs and umbrellas we could ever want. Everything was in good shape and quite handy. Nights were spent in the well stocked kitchen enjoying dinner followed by movies on the enormous TVs on every floor. We were two families with a total of four kids and I am confident that we would all return with pleasure to the Duffers Escape."

  • Great Little Cottage & Outstanding Customer Service

"My husband and I brought our dog to Dewey for a long weekend stay in this cottage. We arrived to find it hadn't been cleaned, so of course, we were disappointed. BUT, I contacted Rich and Marcia immediately and literally within 1 hour they showed up to clean it themselves! There had been a mix up with the cleaning schedule but Rich and Marcia rectified the issue in no time. This is an adorable cottage, just the right size for a small family, located within walking distance of everything in Dewey and a bike ride to Rehobeth Beach/Boardwalk. It is well maintained with a great private outdoor seating/grilling area. The cottage itself is bright and cheerful, very comfortable all around. Can't wait to vacation there again for a couple weeks over the summer! Thank you again, Rich and Marcia!"

  • Little BIG house!

"From the street it looks really small, inside you find a decent kitchen - two living areas and 3 very private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. You have to drive to get anywhere, but it is a short hop to either Lewes or Rehoboth. On Route 24 (only a mile or two away) we found the Grog Shop (spirits) and JD Shuckers with some nice craft beers, good service and an abundant seafood menu. Other shopping (groceries) is out on Highway 1. We caught about 3 dozen crabs at the crab dock (there are 3) at high tide, we went kayaking in the creek (launched at the end of Elmwood) took some nice walks through the community and had an all around great time. We took our shoes off at the door as the whole place is covered with light tan carpeting!"

  • Exquisite!

"This home is spectacular! It is close to everything, yet far enough away to feel like home. It is beautifully decorated and spotless! Everything we needed was at our fingertips. Ed is an amazing host who is responsive and professional. He was quite accommodating to our need to solidify our reservation at the last minute! I am so appreciative. The home is just as photographed and is HUGE! Nestled among trees in the back, the porch and deck were my favorite areas of the home to relax and enjoy a cocktail in the evenings. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this rental experience other than we plan to return next October for the Jazz Festival but will stay for a week this time! I do believe we have established an annual Rehoboth Beach pilgrimage to Ed's house.! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I highly recommend this rental to anyone who enjoys a space that is just like home, large enough to entertain and provides private space when you want to step away from your group. Five stars to this property and to Ed!"
