"Let us add our glowing review to the dozens of positive reviews that others have already written here. We recently spent two wonderful days and nights at the Edelweiss cabin to celebrate our anniversary, and we could have not asked for a more peaceful and romantic experience. The cabin is very clean and well furnished with most anything you might need for your stay. The view from the screened-in porch is amazing—we saw deer playing in the open meadow behind the house, wild turkeys strutting in the open areas, and all manner of birds and other wildlife. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit each night as we gazed at the stars, and we also made use of the kayaks and paddleboat that are provided.
Even more than the comfortable and well-maintained cabin and property, however, you will soon come to appreciate the glorious privacy and the sense of peace and tranquility that make this such an amazing experience. We were just a few minutes drive to all of the historic sites in Dubuque, yet when we settled in at the Edelweiss cabin, we felt that we were a world away from the noise and commotion of a busy city.
Laura was a pleasure to work with, and we enjoyed the freshly baked cookies when we arrived. The Edelweiss cabin is perfect for one or two couples, but with the other cabin just a short walk away, this setting would be perfect for a small family get-together as well. We will no doubt return for another relaxing stay, and we have already told some of our friends about the cabins."

"We had a wonderful time at your lake house. Plenty to do to keep busy and have fun. The lake was a great temperature so our 9 grandchildren had lots of fun swimming. We have lots of fishermen/women in our family and so the dock was almost always busy with someone fishing. The boat lift was great for our bass boat. The bikes were used to get to the ice cream shop and the free library. The deck was great for setting, visiting, watching the lake activity, roasting marsh mellows, feeding the kids, painting pictures of the lake, etc. We even got in on a concert by The Martins and Mark Lowry in Arnold's Park and a movie in the park sitting on the grass. Fun shopping in local stores. A great week for my husband and I, our three girls, two of their husbands and 9 children."

"Lovely home in a quiet, rural setting was base camp for our adventure in Nauvoo and the Mississippi River Road area. Beautiful fall colors, quiet country roads for sightseeing and coming home to a home overlooking the River was great. House was clean, comfortable and as advertised. Owners were easy to work with since we had to shift our arrival date by one day and they contacted us promptly to OK it. Cooked meals at home - kitchen had everything we needed and when drifting off to sleep, the view of the River and its lights at night was soothing and wonderful. Thanks to Lois & David for sharing their little piece of Heaven."

Fabulous Stay: Enjoyed walking to the Riverfront and Restaurants Downtown
"My husband, friends and I stayed in this lavish, well appointed home over the summer 2015. Located in Davenport's "Gold Coast" historic area, the pictures simply do not do this home justice. It is impeccably decorated from the portraits of the previous owners to the hand painted frescoes, fabulous drapes and period furniture - you will basking in history and luxury.
All guests agreed the bedrooms were comfortable and well done. The kitchen, with copper sinks and granite counters was a joy. The details of this house are just too many to name here. You should go, stay there, and thank me later.
While we were there, we walked downtown to fabulous restaurants and spent mornings walking the beautiful riverfront.
The owners of this property were a delight to work with and so very accommodating.
We had not been to Davenport in 20 years. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked for Summer 2016!"
