"WOW!! That sums it up! We had a wonderful time and wish we could have spent more time here. What a relaxing place. The trails were fantastic! The views spectacular. Yes, there was fog, and it comes and goes, which only adds to the beauty of this place. Tons of pictures to be taken, on site!! Sleeping with the windows open, especially for us from the hot, drought hit area of the country, was very welcomed. And hearing the splashing waves on the shore was wonderful to hear as we fell asleep each night.
The cottage is secluded, but there are wonderful day trips to enjoy! Our favorite was Campobello. We should have reserved more time to spend there. And the Little River Lobster Company is a must!! Just around the corner in Maine-speak (OK, a 10 mile round trip)! We actually walked down to the dock, and they pulled our fresh lobsters out of the water. YUM!! The cottage is stocked to cook and enjoy them there. A wonderful time.
And a special thanks to Julie and Mike, the caretakers. The BEST!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!"

"First off, had great communication with Phil (owner). After we booked he sent out a welcome packet with information on the area, places to visit and eat. This Jonesport/Beals vacation house makes a great "base camp" with day trips we took to Lubec/Campobello, Eastport and Bar Harbor. The house was very clean and comfortable with a million dollar view. I work nights and was always up around 3am.....this was perfect to see the lobster boats heading out for the day with the majestic sun rises starting up over the islands and reach. Our day trips ended up running into the late evening so we always found great places to eat in Machias or Ellsworth on the way back from our day tripping adventures. We did manage to get one order in at the the Bayview drive up .....totally worth it! A must stop on the way to Jonesport/Beals is the Old Creamery Antique mall in Ellsworth especially if you have an hour or 2 to kill before check in time. I was stationed here 25 years ago and area hasn't changed much since then let alone the last 100 years? I would definatly stay here again and can't wait for my next trip back!"

"We spent a week at Seacliff this year -- our first time in this part of Maine, and further north and east than we'd ever been in the state -- and this was a perfect get-away. The cottage is perfectly situated right on the coast, and we spent two gorgeous days kayaking from the cottage, took day trips to Eastport (for whale watching and hiking) and Lubec ... also down to Ellsworth and Blue Hill (for the last day of the Blue Hill Fair.) We had everything we needed at the cottage ... the kitchen was really well-equipped, and we spent plenty of evenings just relaxing in the house. Bill and Mary were wonderful hosts, even providing the BEST homemade blueberry pie for us upon arrival."

"This beautiful cottage was designed and built by the owner Ray and his wife. It is open and airy and even better than the pictures. The cottage was perfectly cleaned when we arrived and stocked with everything that we needed for our stay. Ray greeted us as we pulled up, let us unload our gear, and then came by to tell us about the cottage, and the area. He really went the extra mile for us, and that alone is a major reason to recommend this cottage. There is a second cottage on the property that the owner use, so they are generally there if you need them.
The cottage is located across a two lane road from the oceanfront, and a kind neighbor lets you cross his property to access the rocky beach. In the morning you can hear the lobster boats going out.
During our first couple of days here, we did not feel the need to drive anywhere. There are two nature areas within an easy walk from the cottage, and the walks provided there kept us occupied.
Bar Harbor, Lubec, and Corea are all an easy drive away for outings. There is also a good grocery store, and a great Mexican restaurant in Milbridge.
Don't expect your cell phone to work here, and the provided wi-fi was pretty weak. But, you can walk up to the entrance of the hike up Pigeon Hill, and you will get cell phone data access."
