  • Beautiful lake house

"My family and my sisters family rented this lake house for a week in August and it is by far the best house we have ever rented (and we have rented many!). It was everything we hoped for and more. To start, the property manager Kawika, was there to greet us upon arrival. He was super friendly and very helpful, he also left us with a generous fruit basket and bottle of wine to enjoy (a very nice touch!). The house itself is extremely well maintained and has every amenity you could possibly need. The views of the lake are plentiful and beautiful. We all enjoyed every inch of the house and grounds...the deck with wooden rockers, the yard with its pretty plantings, the deck/dock area by the water, the pontoon boat and kyaks, the crystal clear water...too many nice features to mention! "Camp Marion" is truly a special place and we are thankful to have been able to spend our vacation there...we hope to return in the future!"

  • LIGHTHOUSE COTTAGE IS WONDERFUL

"We saw the lighthouse cottage online, and thought it looked great. Our expectations were more than met. Renting on an island was very fun. We decided it was like being at a very friendly Camping type resort, but with great homes. This home had everything we could want. There were 5/6 adults at various times, and 2 small children, and we all had plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with anything needed, plus a huge hightop table and chairs that allowed many nights of late night game playing. The view is wonderful from the deck and the house. The owers were very nice and extremely helpful. They stopped by for a quick welcome hello and gave us many island tips. Frye Island is like a hidden treasure. The little restaurant- Fyre's Leap is a seriously delicious eat in/take out restaurant...we enjoyed anything we ordered there. The stairs at the house looked like a bit of a problem at first for our 2.5 year old granddaughter's safety- but a few well placed gates took care of that. There is something about an island that is so charming and fun, and this house added just the right amount of luxury to the fun. We would rent again in a minute when we decide on Maine."

  • Great week at the Shire

"We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Rangely Lake at the "Shire." The cabin is adorable and comfortable, right on the lake. Jeannine and Bob made us feel welcome. It was great to have a canoe and kayaks available as well as outdoor grill and table. Swimming was too cold for me, but my husband loved it. There is a lot to do in the Rangely area on the lakes and in the mountains and streams (great fly fishing). Good restaurants, a theater and shopping, too."

  • Perfect for a relaxing Maine vacation!

"We loved the camp and really loved how close it was to town. You don't have to drive forever down bad dirt roads to get there. The pictures don't even do it justice. It is larger and more spacious than it appears in pictures. It is well stocked with games, kitchen essentials, a hair dryer, etc. Everything is neatly organized. There is plenty of space for 2 families and the place has everything you could need! The owners were super nice and helpful. It was pretty clean, I guess if you are looking for the Waldorf, this might not be your spot, but we loved it and would return again in a minute. With that being said, there were only a couple minor inconveniences… The very first Sunday morning we were there I got up before anyone else and imagined a peaceful morning enjoying my coffee on the deck while listening to the loons. At 0730 on Sunday morning, the neighbor started up his astro powered riding lawn mower and began mowing the lawn. Who does that on Sunday morning at 0730?? A holiday weekend, even. It was loud and wicked obnoxious. It reminded me of a something you would see in a Chevy Chase movie. However, not the owners fault. The microwave broke on our third day and we called the owner who promptly sent a repairman. It could not be fixed so we were without a microwave for the rest of the week. The only other little unpleasant thing was 3 or 4 fresh mounds of dog turd on the lawn. We cleaned it up and never looked back. It's honestly a gem. We had a great week and overall would recommend it in a heartbeat!"
