  • Spacious, peaceful, tasteful retreat

"I came to this house for three nights with my extended family and already look forward to returning. While we took a few excursions -- downhill skiing and to a local restaurant -- I would have been perfectly content to stay in this house and among its 200+ acres of land the whole time. Everything in the house is set up for maximal pleasure -- all the rooms are generous and have lovely views; the common areas are open and light; the kitchen allows for multiple cooks and loungers. We enjoyed Christmas morning in the living room beside a fire and the 12’ tree I was able to cut down right outside (with owners’ permission, of course). Outside, there was sledding, cross country skiing, ice skating (if so desired, on the small pond beside the wood-fired sauna building), and long walks among the rolling and open lands of the family compound. Even into the third day of the stay, I was still discovering things -- a tennis court in the woods above the house, a third floor study with a lofted bed, an excellent collection of cook books. Like this, the space made it easy for our family to share and retreat. It's hard to imagine a VRBO listing offering more."

  • Classic and comfortable

"A really nice house with a real cabin feel and all the comforts of a modern home. We stayed with a bunch of children for a long ski weekend, and it was perfect. Kitchen and baths are clean and updated. The living area still has the charm of a cabin, which is why we leave the city for the hills, and there was enough room in the kitchonette for breakfast for 8. Bedding and towels were very nice. The owner was great to deal with."

  • "Heaven on Earth"

"Staying at Barbara's home was "heaven on earth!" The beauty and comfort of this home, and it's spectacular location on the lake, made it the perfect spot for sharing time with our family! When we arrived, Barbara welcomed us with gifts of lovely cheeses, crackers, nibbles, and wine; she could not have been more helpful and gracious."

  • Lovely, spacious, immaculate and peaceful home

"This immaculate, uncluttered, comfortable, spacious and well maintained home is located in a peaceful setting 4 miles from Jacob's Pillow. The kitchen is large and open to the living room and has upscale amenities. We only used one bedroom and it was quite comfortable. The master bath was dated but adequate, spacious and clean. With all curtains open you are surrounded by beautiful greenery and some open lawn. There is easy access to Lenox and Stockbridge. This area is wonderful and we have visited it many summers. The owner was responsive to our questions. There is a binder with information about the house and appliances, and there is area information to reference. There is cell phone coverage and wifi. We hope to return to this home for a longer period."
