"I was searching for a view and I found it on the porch at this cabin. I sat many hours in one of the rockers with a cup of coffee marveling at the view which is especially beautiful early in the morning. The cabin was within easy driving distance to the National Park. We enjoyed a picnic in Cades Cove. Also went to Highlands, did a little shopping and had lunch at a wonderful restaurant although I can't recall the name of the place. Visit the waterfalls! They are amazing every time I see them. The only thing that prevents me from giving the cabin a five was the strong smoke odor inside. Not tobacco smoke but from the fireplace. It was very strong and was the only negative thing about our stay. Having said that, I would not hesitate to rent this cabin again. My sister-in-law and I had a blast."

  • Everything we wanted it to be

"We had a wonderful stay at this cabin and our vacation was everything we wanted it to be. We did the 5 R's: rest, relax, recooperate, rejuvenate, reconnect AND had fun. There are 2 guest books full of suggestions from other visitors and 2 resource books (restaurants and things to do/see) that the owners put together which were very helpful. If you look through them the first day/night you are there, you will have all the info you need on wherever you want to go and whatever you want to do. You will probably end up with a few more fun things on your list as well! The Smokey Mtn Visitor's center is just up the road as well if you need more info. The waterfalls are spectacular and there are many hikes as well. There is fresh produce and a creamery just down the road. You have it all here. A great view, rocking chairs on a screened in porch (no bugs), the hot tub, a game room, board games, charcoal grill for the BEST dinners, peace and quiet. Because it is on top of a hill (that's why the awesome view) be prepared to put it in low gear to climb the hill. Everything in the cabin worked and we didn't have any issues. Beds were comfy, dishwasher, washer/dryer and just about every thing you need in the kitchen is provided. Wi-fii was great so we could check in and post pictures at the end of the day. Vickie (the property manager) was very helpful. We had a beautiful sunrise and sunset and the Autumn colors are just beginning. The deck is unique and you can tell this cabin has been a labor of love over the years."

  • Fantastic

"Our stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. The cabin was more spacious than we had thought. Our host, David, was more than welcoming. He made sure we had everything we needed and that things were running accordingly. He helped us with some great hiking trails to visit along the way. Great cabin for four people to stay at. We will definitely be coming back to again!"

  • Affordable Beauty and Comfort

"Just got back from a very relaxing few days at the Hilltop Hide-a-way and want to thank the cabin owners for sharing their homey cabin with us! Just as the other reviews have stated the cabin was very well stocked with all the comforts of home plus! We highly reccomed this cabin for a couples retreat. It's a great place to relax and reconnect. The view is spectacular and we were so blessed to see the colors of fall in all their glory! The true bonus was the snow that was an unexpected feature! The mountains are a good idea anytime but, a great porch with a view and peace and quiet made our trip the best last minute idea we've had this year! We will be back!!!"
