Great Relaxing Vacation!
"We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. I would definitely like to return soon. The waterfall was wonderful to watch and listen to. We tried hiking but there were a few fallen trees in the way. And we had one of the neighbors dogs after us one day when we were walking the trails. It was rainy several days so we just stayed in and relaxed, so we didn't get to enjoy the fire pit. Not a lot to do in the winter time, but we went horseback riding and went to several of the area waterfalls. Dry Falls was spectacular. We attended the first annual New Years Eve Ruby drop in Franklin, and it was a lot of fun. We really wanted to stay another week. Thanks for everything! The Shelby Family."

"We had a wonderful stay at this cabin and our vacation was everything we wanted it to be. We did the 5 R's: rest, relax, recooperate, rejuvenate, reconnect AND had fun. There are 2 guest books full of suggestions from other visitors and 2 resource books (restaurants and things to do/see) that the owners put together which were very helpful. If you look through them the first day/night you are there, you will have all the info you need on wherever you want to go and whatever you want to do. You will probably end up with a few more fun things on your list as well! The Smokey Mtn Visitor's center is just up the road as well if you need more info. The waterfalls are spectacular and there are many hikes as well. There is fresh produce and a creamery just down the road. You have it all here. A great view, rocking chairs on a screened in porch (no bugs), the hot tub, a game room, board games, charcoal grill for the BEST dinners, peace and quiet. Because it is on top of a hill (that's why the awesome view) be prepared to put it in low gear to climb the hill. Everything in the cabin worked and we didn't have any issues. Beds were comfy, dishwasher, washer/dryer and just about every thing you need in the kitchen is provided. Wi-fii was great so we could check in and post pictures at the end of the day. Vickie (the property manager) was very helpful. We had a beautiful sunrise and sunset and the Autumn colors are just beginning. The deck is unique and you can tell this cabin has been a labor of love over the years."

"We had a wonderful 3 days at Schreck's Shack. Easy to find, quiet and comfortable. A great place to unwind and get away from it all, but close enough to great hiking trails and the conveniences of Franklin. And the views are spectacular! I especially liked the garden tub with the magnificent view. After a day of hiking, the tub was the perfect ending to a perfect day. And the fireplace, with access from bedroom and living room, was a nice touch on a cold wintry day. All in all, a cozy cabin, with everything you need to relax and unwind. The owner was very easy to work with, and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care. He knows the area very well and truly enjoys sharing his little piece of heaven. This cabin is the prefect size for a couple or small family. Next time, we will visit during a warmer time of year so we can enjoy the rocking chairs and swing on the front porch."

"Enjoyed celebrating another of many special occasions in my favorite place with my BFF! From porch sitting to local shopping and restaurants this adorable, comfortable mountain home is all anyone could ask for. Can't even find a decet hotel room for the nightly rate either! If you're looking for a quiet place to stay close to town and just a short distance from hiking, fishing and sightseeing, you just found it!"
