About the property

Cozy entire 2-bedroom, 1-bath home

My 1,000 sq ft home is cozy, fully remodeled within the last 4 years. It's a very safe and quiet neighborhood and my neighbors are all aware I do short-term rentals and all are OK with it. My short term rental tax ID number is 301093. Located at Poplar and 4th. Major close cross streets are 6th Avenue one block east of Quebec. There are wide streets, plenty of parking and 35 minutes to the airport. I-70, downtown Denver in 15 min. RTD airport train at 40th & Colorado Blvd. is a 10 minute drive. There is also a bus pick-up within a 5 minute walk. I am also five minutes from the Lowry Eating Disorder Clinic Disorder Clinic and Wings over the Rockies aircraft museum.

My home is in a very safe neighborhood with wide streets. I don’t have a garage but you can park very close to the front door.

The neighborhood is transitional from original ranch homes like mine, to million dollar homes next door. September 2017 I fully landscaped my entire, large backyard. It is fenced with a 900 square-foot grass area stamp crete walkways and mulched areas and a patio with furniture and grill.

Guest access:

Neighborhood restaurants, walk to Starbucks in 5 min. Downtown Denver is 15 min. drive. Cherry Creek is 8 min. away for other restaurants, bars and great retail stores. I am close to so many great neighborhood restaurants, 24 Hour Fitness within 5 minutes, bus stop can walk to in less than 5 minutes.

Interaction with guests:

I travel a lot for work and some pleasure. I won't be around a lot but will always be available via phone and/or text and e-mail. I have a combo front door lock which I will give you the combo prior to arrival. My residence is non-smoking. If you need to smoke, do it outside only for both cigarettes and marijuana. Any questions you have prior to your visit let me know.

The neighborhood:

As I said, great wide streets in a transitional neighborhood. Wonderful, pleasant, friendly neighbors. Great location. I have a very large backyard and quiet area. A variety of restaurants. Please check out the Guidebook for places I have recommended.

Getting around:

There is a bus stop within a 5 minute walk on 6th avenue. There is also Car 2 Go, Uber and Lyft.

Other things to note:

I enjoy cooking so the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and gadgets. You may use the items in my refrigerator and spices, etc. to cook with and anything in the pantry. I have a Keurig machine for tea/coffee and a coffee maker with coffee provided. I have paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo conditioner and soap available to you at a minimum. Help yourself to the snack basket. I have an allowed pets in the past because my house is so small and my backyard was not landscaped. I will allow only small dogs and cats but I will need to know what breed, size the dog is first.

Why Sheila Semler chose Hilltop

I love Denver and this location is very central to so many amenities. I am about 15 minutes from the heart of downtown, close to I-70 and 25 minutes from the airport. But, most importantly, my home is in a nice, quite safe neighborhood where my neighbors do approve of short-term rentals.

What makes this house unique

I am in a great location for retail, Starbucks, restaurants, bars etc. There are wide streets and fenced back yard. I am within 5 minutes of Cherry Creek area which is full of retail, galleries, bars and wonderful restaurants. There is also CC shopping center. Wings Over the Rockies is 5 minutes from my house and 24 Hour Fitness is also right there. The Eating Recovery Center is 5 minutes away. There are several parks around. The Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature & Science and Imax theatre are within 12 minutes.

Sheila is outstanding! Her hospitality before, during, and after were top notch. The house was beautiful, very easy to get to/from, near everything. The house is beautifully remodeled and well decorated. High end appliances and kitchen!

Just what we needed for our sister reunion!

Sheila's home was very well decorated, clean and stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the outdoor space very much and gathered there to connect with our other sisters nearby.

We did bring 2 small (~16#) dogs. They were able to get under the side gate, so be cautious with that. We were able to temporarily fill the gap with the wood provided for the fire pit.

Sheila was responsive to our contact before and after the stay.

A home away from home

Our stay was fantastic! The location is perfect right next to Lowery. It was super clean and all the linens were fresh. We enjoyed the back yard so much. The neighborhood was amazing everyone waved at you and it just felt safe! It truly felt like a home away from home. We can’t wait for the next opportunity that we get to stay here!

We've stayed here several times and each time we remark how clean, well-equiped and cozy Sheila's place is. She has thought of everything to make her home a great place to stay. We plan to stay again in the near future on our next visit to Colorado.

Great Place to stay!

This was a wonderful rental. It is in a great location and in a safe neighborhood. Many things to do across the way in the Lowery District and close to other activities.

We appreciated that the house was so nice and it was very clean when we arrived.

The owner was very helpful. We would certainly stay here again.

Wonderful!!!

Sheila's home is adorable! Pictures definitely don't do it justice this was alot nicer in person very cute updated home with all new appliances. She supplies almost absolutely everything you would need for your stay so no need to pack extra things. Her backyard is so peaceful and quiet and private and it's landscape layout Is really nice! The rooms are a little small but very convenient and comfortable great beds. The house is in a great location and very nice neighborhood with shopping strips within walking distance. There is not enough nice things I could say about her home everything overall was wonderful!
