About Court and ConnieHolmberg
Court and Connie Holmberg came to Ruidoso on their honeymoon 40 years ago and have wanted a place of their own in Ruidoso ever since. Over the years, Court and Connie introduced their four children to Ruidoso and visited on many occasions. After retiring from the US Air Force in 2004, Court began a second career building new homes in Lubbock, TX, but the dream of owning a home in the mountains of Southern New Mexico remained fixed in their minds. During a VRBO-property family vacation to Ruidoso over Labor Day, 2016, Court and Connie began looking in earnest for the home in the mountains they could share with their friends and family as well as the growing number of VRBO. After looking at dozens of homes, the Holmbergs found the Grand Lincoln Lodge and began the process of purchasing that was consummated on 4/10/2017.
Court and ConnieHolmberg purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Court and ConnieHolmberg chose Ruidoso
The Grand Lincoln was exactly what Court and Connie were looking for: a property big enough to handle their entire family at the same time that had a Stellar track record as a VRBO property. Terry and Sallie, the previous owners, had developed a great business model with the Grand Lincoln but decided to pursue other endeavors. Court and Connie's experience with building and remodeling will only make the Grand Lincoln even more enjoyable for its guests in the future.
What makes this Cabin unique
The first time we visited the Grand Lincoln, we knew we wanted it. The location off of Mecham and White Mountain Drive was close to everything we like to do in Ruidoso, and the fact that it backs up to the Lincoln National Forrest sealed the deal. You can hike right out the back door for miles, yet you're only minutes from downtown and the ski mountain road. With decks on three sides of the home, you can always find a spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

We took a weekend vacation for tubing and skiing and stayed in your residence. It had everything we needed and then some. I jace been trying to book this cabin for 3 years now and every time we went to reserve it it's already booked....i now understand why. It was beautiful inside and out and offered more than enough entertainment for the 8 kids we had staying there with us....we would recommend this place for any group gatherings whether just for adults for kids and adults combo.....thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Thanks for the great review, Richard! We are so happy you had such a great stay, and we would love to have you back again. Be sure to plan in advance because we do fill up quickly, especially during ski season and in the summer.
Great location and clean
Have stayed here 3 of the last 4 years. We like it because it accommodates the 14 to 16 in our group each year. Was a little disappointed the big outside grill was down. I am hoping it will be working next year. Hard to cook everything at once for a group of that size on the small grill currently provided. Overall the house is always clean and we plan to be back next year.
Very Nice Place
Worked for my family. Kids loved the air hockey table. Daughters said the Kitchen was well organized. AC was good. Would stay again.
We all enjoyed this property!
It was a very relaxing home! Would love to stay again one day!
Second Family vacation here and another really enjoyable stay!
Plenty of room for our large family. New bathroom was a big improvement from last year. We love the deck and great open living room.
We loved the Great Lincoln Lodge! From the moment we saw it, our group was excited about our stay.
The lodge had so many amenities, some we thought we’d use but didn’t just because we found ourselves sitting out on the upper deck around the big table, chatting, eating, listening to music, and enjoying the wildlife & cats that visited. We never used the pool table or the hot tub, even though we thought we would. Some suggestions for a better visit: there were no paper goods (towels, napkins) so we picked some up at the store. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. The AC didn’t work well, and the dishwasher was even worse. We just hand washed our dishes. The cleaning crew was still working when we arrived to check in at 4. The lady said the last group had left a mess & she had to work extra hard to clean up. She said she hoped we would be cleaner. Two hours before that, when we drove by to locate the house, she wasn’t even there so I think she just got a late start. The guy with her said she had to wake him up from a nap to come to work. Guess they weren’t as excited about our arrival as we were. 😊 The grill was really dirty, so we cleaned that, and we swept off the outdoor furniture as it was pretty dirty too. The best things about the lodge were the deck with the big table, the living room with lots of seating where we watched the college World Series, the well stocked kitchen (utensils, dishes, various spices), the small grill (the big one wasn’t working), the various bedrooms where we could spread out & find a bed for everyone. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! We just wanted to be honest about your property because we would want to know if it was our home. Thanks for everything! —Sally
