Beautiful lakeside cabin.

What a wonderful house right on the lake to enjoy either during the summer or the winter. Highly recommend this place. The place was so well kept and stocked with everything you could possibly think of.

Spring Break Stay

We loved our stay at this cabin! Lots of room to spread out and very close to Purgatory for skiing. This was our second stay here, and I’m a little sad that it is already fully booked in July or we would come back this summer. Thank you for another fantastic stay!

Awesome week end for skiing

The house was bigger and better than we thought, very close to Purgatory ski resort less than 5 min from it, balcony with amazing lake view and Jacuzzi , I recommended 100% and I would like to use it again

Perfect for our family!

Our 2nd stay in this home! We love it! Beautiful view, close to the ski resort, lots of space, very clean, and the house management is quick to respond and so kind! Cant wait to come back next year!

Second Stay

This was our second stay at this beautiful home. We had such a blast playing in the snow and enjoying the views. The house is stocked with everything including extra blankets, pillows, towels, soap in the bathrooms, and fans. The kitchen has more than enough pans, utensils, and dishes. We’ve been to lots of vacation houses and this one continues to sit at the top of our list. Not to mention the host and caretaker are very easy to communicate with. We hope to be back for a third time!

Great location

Great house for a family! We visit Purg every year for several weeks with our teenage boys. Well stocked house in a perfect location to head to the mountain, hiking, the Nugget, The Lift, sledding, etc… Michael the property manager was so helpful and responsive throughout our trip.

Epic!

We had a such a great time visiting this property for our 10 year anniversary. Everything you needed was there and you cannot beat the view and hot tub after a day of exploring! We are definitely coming back with the kids!

Purgatory Spring Break

We had a wonderful stay at this lake house. We were greeted with great communication from Mike who walked us through all the particulars. The views were beautiful and the home was very cozy for all 6 of us on the trip. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. Great access to Purgatory. We can’t wait to come back again during the summer!

Perfect location close to Purg.

First and foremost, Michael, the host, was very accommodating. He contacted us before our arrival to ensure our safe travels through the Colorado winter weather. Second, the property provided our group comforts not easily rivaled by other vacation rentals: a cozy fireplace, heated floors, comfortable bedding, and plenty of towels for the hot tub. All in all, a five star experience! Thanks Michael!

Six Stars

I would give a six star review if possible!! Everything was perfect - the check in, the communication, the location, the lake(!) . . . I could go on and on. The best part was my daughter catching her first ever fish -- a 12"+ beauty of a rainbow troug. Simply put, it was my family's best experience renting on VRBO by far and we are hoping to make it our yearly summer go-to spot. Stay with Marcia - you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful Vacation Spot

When asked by friends to accompany them on a ski trip, finding the perfect place for our budget was challenging, but we hit the jackpot. Although, this cabin was the more expensive option, it was the best choice! For a little extra money we had our own private hot tub, we were right on the lake, and it was a mile from Purgatory Ski Resort which was what brought us to Durango in the first place. The view from the kitchen and patio was breathtaking, and to make it even better, I got engaged in front of it. The pictures are stunning! We will definitely be back.

Ski adventure

This is our third year coming to ski at Purgatory and this time we brought our friends with us. The place was perfect for two families with the kids taking the upstairs loft and the downstairs bedroom, while the adults staying in the two main floor bedrooms. The place was warm, clean and with great views. The ski resort is not crowded at all and very affordable, while still offering plenty of runs for both intermediate and advanced skiers. And the town of Durango has a great selection of fun restaurants, bakeries and shops that we continue to explore. We will likely come again one more time before moving to a different mountain for a change.

Incredible

This cabin is situated right on the lake and the views from the kitchen will make you want to stay in there and cook. Breathtaking! A caretaker will contact you for entry instructions. Make sure you get the entry codes prior to arrival! He is a nice sounding guy and makes good phone contact but never provided us the information and we were left locked out and tired after a 13hr drive. He did finally respond and we gained access. The owner was apologetic and offered credit. The house is extremely clean and well kept. It is a bit dated but to be expected based on the age. The television situation is very dated with an old tv and not very clear picture but looking outside makes you not really care. The coffee pots are basic and slow but do function. One last note. If you plan on using the hot tub make sure you contact the caretaker several days in advance so it has time to heat to temperature. We couldn’t use it the first night. The location of the cabin is amazing and the area is quiet. The ski resort is just down the road. We were here on business but it would be a great cabin for families and vacationing. King beds would be nice in the bedrooms but the current queens are comfy. Overall this is a great cabin and we loved the stay!

This is an excellent location to access activity in the area and the house has everything you need. There’s plenty of room to relax and boats to enjoy the lake. It’s a great place to stay and the host and caretaker are extremely helpful and friendly.

We utilized this mountain home in the summer to be close to some of the San Juan mountain bike trails and nice and cool temps, away from the warmer weather and business of Durango. The home was quite accommodating four our group of four. A large kitchen with an incredible view of the lake convinced us to eat most of our meals in. Also, we were delighted to find a couple of fun restaurants nearby, as well as a convenience store to refresh some supplies. In the evenings we often sat on the deck or relaxed in the comfort of the hot tub. The home was clean and spacious, and the owners were in contact with us to make sure everything was great, and it was! A delightful stay that went by all too fast.

Our family had the best time… the views are incredible, and the house is so thoughtfully appointed! We really enjoyed spending time on the deck and soaking in the hot tub after skiing just across the way! We will definitely be back!

Perfect Ski Lodge

There was a surplus of dishes, towels, and linens for our 3 family group! The property manager was helpful and available with any questions we had. He was willing to come over to help if needed. The house was clean, plenty big and the perfect location to get some time on the mountain without a long drive up & back. It was super convenient being 5 minutes from the parking lot & made it easy when we had people wanting to go back early. The view was awesome, can’t wait to come back during the summer sometime and see the view without all the snow!
