We had the best week at La Terrazza

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Craig was easy to work with and his communication was the best. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the walk to the beach was so easy (even for my 82 year old mom). I highly recommend La Terrazza to any family looking to enjoy a summer in Michigan (Indiana)!!!

College Family Reunion

Great stay at La Terrazza! We had a large group of 14 adults and 7 children (ages 1 - 5) and it was very comfortable for all. Plenty of space on both first floor and second floor as well. Basement is recently finished with tons of storage space, kitchen and wash area. We did not need to leave the area because the beach is just a short walk away, but the local recommendations for groceries and take out were well appreciated. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

Huge home super close to the beach

It's rare to find a large home that can comfortably accommodate so many different couples and their children, but this one did! Loved the large back patio, two long picnic tables, and fire pit. It was a great place for all to gather and enjoy the weekend!

La Terrazza was the perfect house for our group of 14 - the house and patio are spacious and are well stocked with everything you need to host that many people, and the beach is just steps away. Craig was kind, helpful, and super communicative - would definitely rent here again.

This stay BLEW our group away!! We had a larger group with family and friends in town for the weekend and could not have picked a better spot. Friends to the Dunes

Wonderful visit to the Dunes and Lake Michigan City. The VRBO was perfect for our stay. The owners have put a lot of attention to the details to ensure your stay if a great one. Memorial Day Weekend Get Together

Great place to stay, had all useful tools for the kitchen and the gas grill for the large meals we made for a very wide assortment of ages. Kids loved the patio area where they could play and hang out even when the weather wasn't the best. I would 100% recommend Craig as a host and would easily stay at his property again... just need to be promised warmer weather next time :)

Great house for a large group

My friends and I rented this house for a weekend getaway and had a blast. The kitchen area had enough seating for our large group, we enjoyed hanging around the outdoor and indoor fireplaces and the super short walk to the beach. The property manager was responsive. We would happily rent this house again in the future.

We are a couple of travelers living in Chicago, who happen to love the beachfront lifestyle. We love to entertain and cook, and we are excited to be able to bring our creativity and ideas to this house, and share it with our guests.

Why they chose this property

We have been coming to Michigan City for many years. We looked at many of the neighborhoods in the area, and kept coming back to the convenience of this little Sheridan Beach pocket. We have lovely neighbors all around, and feel so fortunate for the opportunity to become part of the community. We love the moment when we arrive, and get out of the car, and hear the waves of Lake Michigan - it is instantly relaxing.

As one of the original Sheridan Beach homes, this house has been through numerous modifications. At one point, it held at least three apartments. There are several "M" initials around the house, which suggests to us that it belonged to one of the original founders of Sheridan Beach, William Manny. We continue to hear stories of the old days of this house and neighborhood, and they are fascinating.

What makes this property unique

Few properties offer the vibe that this one does, and can accommodate your whole extended family, and STILL be this convenient to walks on the beach. In 2018, we designed and built the 800 square foot patio (“terrazza” in Italian), framed by the 24 locally-sourced, mature arbor vitae trees, creating an inviting and private space that reminds us of our travels in Italy. This terrazza is unique to the area, and allows your group to linger in privacy and comfort around the gas firepit and extended outdoor dining area. There are so many lovely homes in the neighborhood, but what brings some of our guests back year after year is the convenience this home offers a large group, to stroll 100 steps to the sand with your coffee in the morning, or your favorite sunset drink in the evening - it just can't be beat. In early 2020, we renovated all six bathrooms, and in the fall, we completed a full exterior renovation: siding, windows and doors. Finally, in 2021, we rehabbed the kitchen, its first update in over 60 years. In all the updates, we worked hard to preserve the character, but enhance the comfort this house offers our guests.
