70th birthday getaway

Our family rented the property to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. It was everything we needed, wanted and more. The home was well thought out and equipped for 8 couples to comfortably enjoy a weekend together. Plenty of space to gather and yet have space to ourselves. The grounds are beautiful and the hosts responsive and friendly. Thank you for making my mom's birthday weekend so enjoyable!

Dad’s 90th Birthday Celebration

Our Dad has been widowed since 2005 and is ultimately doing great. He had been independent in his living environment up until the pandemic! His life came to a screeching halt once the pandemic shut us down he has become more frail physically. Mentally he is sharp as a tack. with one main health scare over this period the family decided to have a momentous birthday celebration! Goldberry Woods was the perfect place for everyone in the family to enjoy family time together!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful Inn for us to enjoy our celebration!

Wonderful vacation for big family

We rented the entire inn plus a cabin for 17 adults and two children. It was perfect in every way. Everyone was able to find something fun to do: pool, hot tub, bicycling, canoeing, kayaking, going to the beach, feeding the chickens. The beds are wonderfully comfortable (new mattresses) and each couple had their own bathroom. Very comfortable for all. We loved it and will be back.

Family Christmas Celebration

This is a very unique inn, and we took advantage of all it has to offer. The inn itself is beautiful with unique bedroom suites and generously appointed kitchen. (Most of the time this is a B&B, and we imagine they prepare impressive morning meals. The beverage glasses are awesome!) We prepared all our own meals and took advantage of the Whistle Stop and Barneys for provisions. All eleven of us ate at one of the trestle tables, and then moved over to the other for reading, games and cards. The property is fun and educational. We hiked the woods, admired the fruit trees and bee hive, and loved feeding the chickens! Our grandkids will always remember collecting the chicken and duck eggs which was a very new experience for them. Eric and Julie gave just the right amount of information so that the kids had to figure out how to get the eggs out of the coop! We made delicious quiches with the eggs. As if that is not enough, we also had an easy-to-use hot tub, and fun games (air hockey and ping pong) at our disposal. Our family had a wonderful 3 days at Goldberry Woods and will surely make it a tradition to gather there. We were just the right distance from Lake Michigan and enjoyed its winter glory with a walk at the New Buffalo city park. Eric and Julie were perfect hosts--they let us have the run of the place but were nearby if we had questions or requests. Thank you, Craig and Marsha Lesley

Fantastic Property

My friends and I stayed for 4 nights recently. The property was fantastic and was great for accommodating our large group (~24 adults + a few kids). Eric and Julie were also very kind and willing to help with any questions. We would highly recommend and would love to be repeat customers.

Awesome Place

We came with a really large group. Goldberry was clean, spacious and very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay . There was plenty of sleeping space and common space. The kitchen was perfect for all our food and the eating area was able to seat all of us comfortably. It was a short walk to lake and the water was beautiful. We would highly recommend Goldberry.

Very spacious and a great place to stay!

I have a large family and Goldberry Woods was a great place to accommodate everyone. The rooms were very spacious and well designed. The house was very clean and well kept. My family had a peaceful and private setting. The owners were attentive and readily available. Overall, Goldberry Woods met all of my family’s needs. We look forward to more family gatherings at this great place!

This is a perfect setting for your Staff Retreat!

This is the second time that we have stayed at Goldberry Woods. We rent out the entire property for our all staff meeting. We opt out of the breakfast so that we are able to have access to the kitchen during our stay to cook lunches and dinners. We hold our meetings in the main lodge. It is spacious enough to hold 15 comfortably if you are comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. The reason for renting out the entire property is so we can retreat to our own space on breaks and at night. We have brought people in to lead yoga and we have done the same for wine & canvas. We will definitely keep Goldberry Woods in mind for future meetings.

Great for Small Company Retreat

I booked Goldberry Woods for my company's senior leadership team for a private off-site retreat. We were able to book the entire inn at an extremely reasonable price. Eric and Julie were wonderful to work with and were very accommodating for various requests! It provided my team with privacy, and a relaxed setting for in-depth discussions & brainstorming. My team came back from the two-day visit raving about how beautiful the space and property was - it was a very good experience. I will be keeping Goldberry Woods at the top of my list for future company (& personal) outings!

B & B Tranquility

Inviting, comfortable, roomy, accommodating...all of these are great words to describe Goldberry Woods. This is the second holiday our family of 24 has spent together at this B & B and once again we were so pleased with our experience while there. The bedrooms are large and comfy and a great getaway when you need to pull yourself away from the conversations and busyness of the family. Each of the bedrooms has its own jacuzzi tub, tv, reclining chair and very comfortable bed. In addition we had a fireplace and sliding door leading to a deck in our room. The communal gathering areas were perfect for family games, conversations and holiday present opening. The Christmas tree that was there kept us all in the spirit of the holiday too. We love the kitchen with it's up-to-date appliances and more than enough utensils and cooking dishes to accommodate our large family meals. The extra large coffee maker and on demand hot water were perfect for the coffee and tea addicts in our family. The kitchen tables and chairs sat all of us nicely for our meals. While the weather was rainy most of the time during our stay we did venture outside for family photos on this beautiful micro farm property. Last year the kids took on the scavenger hunt the owners had made through the trails in the wooded area. It was wonderful and a perfect activity for adults and children alike! I was able to get away for a few outdoor runs during our stay and the surrounding area is very safe and made for scenic and pleasurable runs. Thanks to Eric & Julie for opening up their B & B to help make our family times together so memorable!

Perfect Space for Retreat

I led a writing retreat at Goldberry Woods in March of 2015 and can't recommend the place highly enough. Eric and Julie are professional and wonderful to work with: Eric was responsive and flexible while I was making the arrangements and he made it easy to book the space online. Both he and Julie provided us with all the info about the area we needed to know once we arrived. The space and the property are beautiful: calm, warm, and inviting, perfect if you're looking for a quiet place for a group to get away. In addition Julie's breakfasts are delicious! A great place for a group or a family that wants to take a break from everything.
