This newly built (Sept 2020) luxury 3 double bedroom flat with lift is in the prestigious "City Island Village Development" in Docklands/Canary Wharf, London, E14 which won the award for best new development to live at in 2020, and ongoing best development.

Modern newly built spacious apartment with balcony over the river perfect for London tourists or business users at the Excel Exhibition Centre or the London O2.

Jubilee Line Tube/DLR just 30 seconds walk away. 2x On site restaurants, sainsbury supermarket/grocery shop, cafe, bar/pub, delicatessen, art galleries, various other food vendors and the English National Ballet - Search on the internet "London City Island" for full virtual tours of the development so you can get a real view of what's it’s like - (I am not allowed to put the precise domai address here as VRBO does not allow external links). The develpoment is basicaly a self contained village enviroment on a island within london.


GENERAL OVERVIEW

This luxury modern flat (built in Sept 20) is located in the prestigious City Island development in E14, which won the award for best new place to live in London this year and is a self contained village development.
This 3 double bedroom flat is facing west looking at Canary Wharf and has the best views on the entire exclusive development over the river towards the bright lights of Canary Wharf (amazing view at night when the skyline is lit up) and also the London O2.
The development is very secure on its own semi Island site about 5 acres accessed by a private 100m footbridge across the river to the tube at Canning Town (full lift access from the tube to the flat if stairs are a issue) at one end which is 30 seconds walk from the flat, and by a gated road entrance for vehicles at the other (the only vehicles coming onto the site are deliveries and resident going to their allocated parking bay in the underground car park). The site has no roads on it and is a basically a pedestrian area so is very quiet and safe. There are various landscaped gardens and grass areas on the island.

Canning Town has the Jubilee Underground Line and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) as well as a large bus station. The Emirates Cable Car is also just 3 minutes away. Of course all of London is easily accessible.

Onsite there is 24 hour security, grocery shop (sainsburys), restaurant, cocktail bar, pub, 2 x cafe's, pool tables , "fooze" ball tables, 2 art galleries and the English National Ballet which offers tours of the facility where you can see the dancers rehearsing from the open viewing gallery. There is also a residents lounge much the same as a hotel lobby/lounge with free Wifi and is great place to relax and unwind after a long day.
The restaurant and bar is open till 11pm. The cafe serves breakfast and is open from 8am.

Although there is a leisure complex on the development which includes swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, loungers and onsite personal trainers, this is NOT accessible for short term guests staying less than 3 months, as access is only for owner/occupier residents or tenants/guests who have a 3 month agreement. The fobs I provide to gain entrance to the flat do not work for the leisure complex which is also staffed at the entrance and uses faces recognition software to check people entering are registered guests over 3 months. These are the development rules not mine and there are no exceptions what so ever and attempted entry will breach you stay agreement.

I have mentioned the leisure complex and added pictures of it for guests looking for longer stays of 3 + months, if you are looking for a stay of less than this please ignore the leisure facilities section and pictures.

There is also a concierge service but again this is only accessible to owner/occupiers or guests on a 3 month + agreement as above.

SPECIFIC FLAT DETAILS

The flat is 999 sq ft 3 double bedrooms (2 have double beds and 1 has 2 x single beds in it) and 2 bathrooms (one is a en-suite). The lounge also has a double sofa bed that can be used if needed. There is also a fold away baby cot in the property and “Bumbo” baby highchair and play tray suitable for 3-36 months. The 98sq ft balcony overlooks the river and leisure complex. The flat is accessed by lift and there are also stairs.
There are 5 adult duvets (3 double and 2 single) and 8 pillows in the property as well as a baby duvet and pillow for the foldaway cot.
All rooms in the flat have windows facing the river, with the lounge being double aspect. There are great views especially at night when Canary Wharf and London skyline is lit up.
The designer semi open plan kitchen comes with microwave, fridge/ freezer, oven, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, pots/pans. 8 sets of crockery, cutlery, cups, glasses, and wine glasses, iron , ironing board.
Kitchen also has all other essentials to include -, salt/pepper, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen rolls, sponges, t-towels, bin bags, hoover, bottle opener, tin openers, sives , kitchen rolls, bin bags, hand wash, dust brush, mop. Coffee, tea and sugar are also provided. If you wanted to cook during your stay rather than eat in the onsite restaurant all you would need to do is buy is the food from the onsite shop!
On arrival there will be bottled water in the fridge and a selection of biscuits.

There are 2 bathrooms, one of which is en-suite to one of the double bedded rooms (rather than 2 single bedded rooms) . The bathrooms have 8 towels , shampoo, shower wash, hand wash, toilet rolls.
Two of the bedrooms have carpet, while the other one, kitchen and lounge is real wood flooring.
The entire flat has an air circulation system to keep the air fresh and cool.
The living room has a flat screen TV and DVD player with an assortment of DVDS and board games.
Free Wi-fi is available throughout the flat.

4 sets of keys are made available.

There is no parking available at all for guests and security will not allow you entry to the development with a car. But you can unload at the entrance and walk the remianing 200 metres so its idela for taxi drop offs. There is off site parking at the Excel centre ( 1 stop on the DLR which is at circa £20 per 24 hours) which you can simply drive into without booking.

Check-in is generally 1pm onwards and check-out is by 11am. However these times are pretty flexible dependant on other bookings - Simply let me know once booked what time you expect to arrive so we can arrange to meet outside the entrance to the flat.

Stayed May 1-7 - Property was exactly as advertised and very clean and quiet. Andrew the host was excellent. Gave us all the information needed for check-in, a thorough tour of the apartment and was always quick to respond to questions. Although we were near the maximum number of guests, the property felt quite large, given that the bedroom with the ensuite bathroom is at one end and the other two bedrooms (which shared the 2nd bathroom) were at the other end of the property.A few minor quibbles - the pillows were not very comfortable and could use an upgrade. Also there was no coffee maker in the room (not uncommon for properties in the UK it seems). Some sort of coffee maker, i.e., a pod machine, drip coffee maker, or french press would be a bonus.Would highly recommend this place to anyone attending a conference at the Excel or visiting London in general.

The apartment had everything we could possibly need. It was comfortable and clean. It was so nice to have two bathrooms for our 3 generation family stay. Nice to have a grocery store close by. There was a cafe and pub although we didn’t use them. Cannon Town tube station was close by and had lifts for those less able.

Fantastic!!!

Wonderful property just a few stops away from Central London. Nice to come back to a cozy apartment away from the business of London, yet close enough to enjoy all the sites and attractions that you want to see. Our host Andrew was amazing, available and helpful with any questions that we had. Highly recommend for families or couples travelling together.

Very nice host and flat. We had issues with the hot water which the host is working on and this was in Island City and not Canary Wharf like we thought. But we did have a great time and really did like the flat and had fun. Thank you for letting us stay!

Amazing stay!

The location was absolutely perfect. It’s conveniently located close to the Tube and a great little neighborhood with restaurants, a coffee shop and grocer. The apartment was lovely and exactly as described. Very spacious and open, everything you need is provided for up to 8 guests. The neighbourhood is nice, very safe and quiet, lovely to return to and relax after the hustle and bustle of sightseeing in London. Quick and easy access into all the main areas and attractions from the very convenient tube station next to the apartment.Andrew is an excellent Host, he met us for check in and explained how everything worked along with info about the nearby restaurants, bars & coffee shops. Excellent communication and quick responses to any queries both before and during our stay.Would definitely stay here again when visiting London and recommend to anyone thinking about it..

A Great Place to Stay

Andrew did a great job of tending to any issues that arose. He is a fine host. The property itself is as outlined. Convenient to the tube and the DLR. Surrounded by a small conservation area. Daily food trucks and good restaurants and food stores nearby. A great place to stay.

Fabulous!

We had a fantastic two night stay at this apartment which is in a great location with easy access to DLR & Jubilee lines. Great views over Canary Wharf - particularly when lit up at night and also the river. The apartment is light, airy and perfectly equipped. We were a group of 6 but it easily accommodates 8 with the use of the sofa bed. The host - Andrew, could not have been more accommodating or helpful. We would thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay for a family or group of friends and intend to return.

Lovely and clean flat in a good location.

We enjoyed our stay at this flat. It is right at an Underground station, and has a coffee shop and small grocery in the complex. The apartment is very clean and spacious. The negative would be the linens and washing machine. It is a tiny washer/dryer combo that takes 4-5 hours per small cycle. There were no flat sheets on any bed and just 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels in the apartment. Overall, it is clean and lovely.

Hi Amelia , Glad you enjoyed your stay. I did mention to you at the time that there is 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel per guest, as there were only 2 of you for 2 nights there were 2 hand towels and 2 towels laid out for you. After you asked for some more I let you know where some extra ones were stored if needed some I hope that helped . Hope to see you again....
