Why Scott and Lynn Johnson chose Marlinton
Lynn and I picked this property specifically for the flat open space on the top of the mountain. It's the only property like it in the area. Our goal was to have a place our kids could enjoy, play football, soccer, bike, hike, paintball, etc. It really has worked perfectly for us and we hope you could enjoy it the same way we have over the years

Great secluded getaway
We spent a couple of nights at the cabin during a great March snowstorm and couldn't have had a better time. The cabin is well equipped, the views are great and the property is beautiful. Exactly what we had hoped for.
Every ammenity you could ever want or need
The house was out there, far away from everyone. Which was nice and relaxing. It had everything you could possibly want or need. Karoake, hot tub, pool table. Enough room to spread out, even with 6 people. Will stay there again.
A Great Return to the Top of the Ridge
4 couples with their children (ages 2 - 8) returned to the Top of the Ridge and had another fantastic time. The house has ample space for cooking, games, relaxing, sitting by the outdoor fireplace, or soaking in the hot tub (note that both it and the deck are newer and bigger than the pictures indicate). Amenities like the wet bar, pool/ping pong table and entertainment system really make this a great place to stay. The drive down the ridge and then back up to Snowshoe can take around 25 minutes, but it's worth it to have so much space and the peace and quiet of the house. We'll definitely be back. Thanks to Scott and Lynn for being such great communicators!
Beautiful property, accomodating home, will stay again.
This was my second time staying at this home this year. We love it. It's secluded and quiet, the perfect escape. Each time, a large group of friends have gotten together to catch up since we all live in different areas and don't get to see each other much... it's a perfect getaway.
We have stayed at Top Of The Ridge Cabin 2 times. The most recent stay there was a little disappointing. The central air conditioner didn't work. Also, the laundry hadn't been done so we had to do it in order to have towels and rags. The dishwasher and trash compactor hadn't been cleaned out when we arrived either. We did however have a good time there. The new deck looks great and we appreciate your hard work to make the cabin a nice place to visit.
Awesome weekend at TOTR
Top of the Ridge was the perfect secluded getaway for our annual motorcycle weekend with friends. We enjoyed foggy morning views with coffee, sunsets in the hot tub and evening fires on the deck. The magestic mountains of West Virginia provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and reconnecting with friends and riding motorcycles in the scenic mountains.
The house is warm and inviting, spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was equipped with ample space for a crowd. Our weather was perfect for riding but had we been rained out, staying at the house would have been a pleasure.
The house is secluded and is truly on the top of the ridge. Because we were on bikes, the 2 mile ride in an out was challenging in a thrill-seekers-sort of way. Happy to report we all navigated well with no problems.
We would all recommend this beautiful home and all that goes with it. Thank you for a perfect weekend.
