About Elizabeth Christmus
We are a family from Columbia, South Carolina that fell in love with Beaufort many years ago!
Elizabeth Christmus purchased this House in 2005
Why Elizabeth Christmus chose Fripp Island
We chose this vacation home because we loved the Island and we loved the marsh views. We had visited nearby Hunting Island quite often, but had never really spent much time on Fripp until after 2001. We really fell in love with Fripp right away! We loved how laid back everything was. Fripp's beaches are very spacious. The island has a good bit of activity, but never seems to be overcrowded. The people on the island and in our community are all very nice. We loved how you could drive the golf cart right to the beach and have a parking space! This was just a place we wanted to be! Sawgrass Bluff where our home is located really impressed us because it has such a natural beach feel. Palm trees surround the house, the marshes back up to the house, you can see crabs, fish, birds, etc all in their natural habitat. We have loved our home and are so glad that we were lucky enough to be able to find a place that suited us so well!

Great Family Getaway
We greatly enjoyed our stay on Fripp. the house could use a little TLC, but no complaints. Fripp is a beautiful place. The quiet, laid back atmosphere made for a great family vacation. We will be back!
Rustic charm
Had a great time. Golf cart is a great perk. The outside lighting could be a little better, but overall the house was charming, clean and functional. Mark and Elizabeth were very attentive to our needs and easily accessible.
Great house
I have rented many houses in the past and enjoyed most but always found a reason not to want to rent it again until now.We are already talking about when we can return. It is the prefect house for wild life viewing.
Island paradise!
We absolutely enjoyed our week here and will be back! We have 4 little kids including a 6 month old baby so I really needed the convienence of having access to the house, pool and beach to accommodate nap times and fun times for the older kids! This house did it all for us! I could feed my early risers in the breakfast room without waking up everyone and the living room was a great hang out for the whole gang at the days end. The golf cart was my 2 year olds favorite part ! We were able to enjoy the island and all it offered and comeback to the house for r and r. I recommend this home!
Island was great. House had some issues.
Fripp Island is a great place! We have stayed there before. Wonderful place for children and teenagers. Several pools, the beach, activities all week, most people using golf carts for transportion, and wildlife to enjoy.
The house was very spacious and comfortable. Pictures don't do the house justice-very roomy. We had seven people; 2 adults and 5 15-17 year olds and were very comfortable. It came with a golf cart which was great because you need one there. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. And there was a charcoal grill.
There were some issues with the house but not anything major enough to upset our stay. Mostly due to general maintenance and cleaning. The wood flooring at the top of the stairs was loose and a hazard for tripping, several of the light bulbs needed to be replaced, water spots on the ceiling upstairs, the solar lights leading to the house were broken, the top portion of the hand rails on the decks (round ends) were broken, etc. The main issue I had was with the cleaning. Although when we walked in it appeared clean, there were issues that soon began to appear. The closets were junky with random stuff that made it hard to put your stuff in. For example the hall closet was about half filled and the downstairs bedroom had most or the bottom closet space taken up with extra flooring. But the the actual cleaning needed to be addressed. There were spiderwebs hanging, the floors looked they had been swiftered but not really cleaned in a while (corners in the kitchen had built up dirt), handprints on windows, the couch had debris under it, and the show stopper - one of the kids found an used diaper under the bed.
We had an issue with the hot water heating breaking and having to be replaced. The owners responded quickly and apologetically. This went smooth and didn't disrupt out stay. They handled this very appropriately.
Final take: I think maybe the owners may need to check up on their maintenance and cleaning people but overall the vacation was a good experience.
Hi Dorinda,
I am so glad you enjoyed your stay! I am sorry about the other things you mentioned. We did just get finished putting hardwoods down, so we did have to leave a few boxes in the downstairs closet. We use the same cleaning company that cleans most homes on Fripp Island. If we know that there is an issue during your stay, we are always willing to help. Spiderwebs appear overnight sometimes on Fripp Island during the summer months, but we would have been more than happy to send our cleaning staff back out to take care of that and anything you need.
We always want our guests to let us know if we can do anything to improve their stay. If we don't know about a problem during your stay, there is nothing we can do. We always keep extra light bulbs, batteries, and things like that at the house as well.
Thank you again Dorinda for staying with us and I am glad you enjoyed your time on Fripp!
We loved the house and the location! Super quiet marsh experience. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets!!
The house was very clean and decorated very well. All of the comforts of home and then some! Golf cart was an added bonus and location was perfect. Community pool was close and not crowded at all. 5 stars from the Butler's. Can't wait to stay here again!!
