About Kiersten and Jack Alton

We are montana natives who purchased this property as an investment while we were living in Texas. We are now living back in our hometown of Kalispell, Montana.

Kiersten and Jack Alton purchased this house in 2002

Why Kiersten and Jack Alton chose Glacier Country

We have spent a lot of time on this lake and own a family cabin across from our rental. This lake is the perfect place for us to get away and relax with our children. Fishing, hunting and boating are all activities we love to do and can all be done while staying at Ashley Lake.

What makes this house unique

The peace and quiet. Watching and listening to the loons and other wildlife. Fishing is great! There are very few boats on this lake so you usually feel like you have it all to yourself. This lake is only one of several in Montana that have the unique and beautiful Loons on it plus lots of other wonderful wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you so much for the great time at the Ashley Lake. We loved canoeing around the lake, jumping off the dock and fishing. A little squirrel ran up and down the tree every morning. Thank you, Niamh age 12

Great.

As described on web site. Beautiful views. Nice quiet area, great for relaxed stay which coming from a high density area was much desired and delivered. Cabin well supplied. Would book it again, should opportunity ever occur.

Property was in a beautiful setting. House worked well for our family.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the property, lake and views. It as very nice and fit our family well. We did go into town and to the park almost every day and had two vehicles for our family each time. The distance of the winding dusty roads each day when the shadows would cause the road to disapear with the dust at times got old fast. But we did enjoy the property. Had a great time.

Jackson Cabin a MUST for Montana Vacations!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the cabin having flown into the Glacier National Airport and experienced the haze of smoke from so many wildfires still raging. The directions provided were spot on and we saw so many deer enroute to the cabin, we were amazed; does with twin fawns, 2 sets! The Jackson Cabin and Ashley Lake were just beautiful. We took stock upon arrival and went into Kalispell for groceries, on the way back again on the road to the cabin, we saw a black bear and again lots of deer and wild turkey (in a flock, not a bottle)!

Our purpose for this vacation was to visit Glacier National Park, and while the park is indeed beautiful and we saw a grizzly bear (at a distance) we did not see any moose, elk, goats or bighorn sheep. We actually saw more wildlife on the road to and from the cabin each day! Hungry Horse Dam and surrounding area is a must see, as well as Big Fork (city) - at Flathead Lake! White Fish is a great place to explore as well (city), Jewel Basin is a great place to hike and the scenery there is gorgeous, but the lake at the cabin with all her changing moods and colors is by far the best!

The Jacksons are very nice and could not be more accommodating! This is the place to stay for a Montana vacation! The only sounds you will hear are the loons calling in the morning, the gentle lapping of the lake waves onto shore and the whispering wind through the trees!

This is a place for reflection, peace and quiet and total relaxation!

A Restful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was our second use of a VRBO property and it exceeded ALL expectations! Get your groceries and head to this very peaceful, beautiful location for a perfect vacation! The cabin was clean and came with all the other necessities needed. It's a perfect location to explore Glacier National Park and Kalispell is only a short drive away. We loved the lake, fishing, wildlife and quiet (even on the weekend). Owners are very helpful and seemed accessible if needed. Can't wait to come back!!!

Owner's Response: We love having renters spend special occasions such as these guys, it was their honeymoon! Congratulations. Our cabin is very peaceful. Ashley lake is not a very busy lake so you can always count on seeing lots of wildlife and good old peace and quiet. There are several pairs of Loons on the lake and this year they were successful in raising at least one chick. These large birds are pretty rare and to have several nesting pairs is truly an honor!

Truly a beautiful place and very well appointed, we

were so cozy. My husband loved fishing off the pier

and it was amazing to see eagles flying over the

silent lake and to hear the wind in the trees. Do

your grocery shopping on the way and settle in. City

folks like ourselves should be aware of 1 thing,

though: without a 4-wheel drive vehicle, the last 7

miles to the cabin make it challenging to get in/out

of for casual trips into town or elsewhere in the

area.
